Dragon age inquisition walkthrough the whistling wasteland grave. Dragon Age Inquisition achievements. Break off "White Claws"

The sixth part of Dragon Age Inquisition could be called “Dragon Slayer”. For the first time I killed a dragon, and not just one, but four at once. Although it is worth noting that the most difficult dragons are yet to come. Let’s also go through the plot a little. I didn’t write down some episodes: Sera and Vivienne’s quests, clearing the “Brown Mire” area, collecting fragments, etc. So if something is missing in the walkthrough, it doesn’t mean that I missed some points. But the most important thing in the description, of course, will be.

Storm Coast - Winsomer the Dragon

At the command headquarters I activate a new task - “Red Templars”. An entrance will now open at the westernmost point of the Storm Coast map. Inside, as you can guess from the name, there are templars... red... You can also find the Black Lotus plant here, as well as a locked door (the door requires a “red templar key”, but it’s unknown where to get it). We kill the enemies, of which there are not so many, and go to the shore with the boat. You can use this transport to get to Dragon Island.

Winsomer settled on the island. This dragon, despite its level 19, is a fairly formidable opponent due to its strong electrical damage. My party of a robber (the main character), a mage (Dorian), an archer (Sir) and a tank (Blackwall) scattered quickly. Of course, Blackwall showed miracles of durability, but with his damage, it would take a week to kill the dragon. As a result of the confrontation, it was decided to return to this animal later. You need to gain an advantage in level, craft equipment not only for yourself, but also for your allies, and also upgrade your tincture of protection from electricity. Then we will definitely win.

How to defeat a dragon - Northern Hunter

There are 10 dragons to find in Dragon Age Inquisition. If it doesn’t work out with Winsomer or another strong dragon, then you need to find someone easier. The Northern Hunter from Crestwood would be a great fit. This dragon also uses electricity magic, but he is only level 13, which is quite capable even without the use of protective potions.

Dragon loot is the best: in addition to weapons, armor and crafting blueprints, such unique items as dragon iron, rich dragon blood, dragon tooth, dragon membrane (level 4 cloth), dragon scales (level 4 leather), dragon bone (metal level 4).

Also in Crestwood are the heads of the assassins' guild. I just needed one sign to create a knife for the killer's path. In addition to the signs, you also need a special book, which can be found next to Cole. There should be another one at the bookseller in Val-Royeaux, but in my case there was none (I bought all the books).

Crestwood Head Girl, Josephine, Leliana

No, this is not a love triangle, but only a brief retelling of the content of the video. We judge the headman of Crestwood, build a relationship with Josephine, consult with Leliana, who for some reason does not like this whole story with Josephine. At the same time, Leliana herself does not want to enter into a vicious relationship. It’s a pity, I was expecting to see serious showdowns between the girls for the Inquisitor! In general, the options are as follows.

Possible Romantic Interest for Female Inquisitors:

Blackwall, Serah, Josephine, Iron Bull

Possible romantic interest for female Inquisitors (Elf characters only):

Cullen, Solas

Possible Romantic Interest for Male Inquisitors:

Cassandra, Josephine, Dorian and for those who like it tougher, the Iron Bull! OMG.

Forgotten Temple of Dirthamen

Here is a complete walkthrough of the mission “God of Secrets”. All runes and remains have been collected. At the end, we perform the ritual, summon and kill the demon, and collect loot from the chest.

The Whistling Wastes

The first of several videos on a new large location - the Whistling Wastes. Here I also did almost everything, including searching for mosaic elements (except for the quest “Notes in the Wasteland”). The main task is to find 5 gnome graves, and pick up part of the key from each of them. The first grave found is at the 25th minute. The main thing is to light the torches in the correct order, and there will be happiness.

A map of the area with all the graves can be seen in the video “Whistling Wastes - Fairel's Tomb” (from 30 seconds).

The Whistling Wastes - Part 2

We continue the wasteland. I found a store with weapons and armor, where for only 6100 I bought a very good level 22 helmet for the robber class - the Draska Helmet. Armor level 44, as well as bonuses to defense and agility.

The Whistling Wastes - Part 3

We wander through the desert at night, close the gaps, chop down spiders, rob korovan tombs, collect a rare plant - the vandal's aria. It is found in such large quantities only in the Whistling Wastes. Useful for improving potions.

The Whistling Wastes - Part 4

I don't think I need to explain what's going on here :)

The Whistling Wastes - Part 5

At the 20th minute there is a grave in which I did not immediately notice the door (why are the gnomes’ doors so narrow in Inquisition?). In general, always try to follow the wall so as not to miss anything.

How to Defeat the Dragon - Sand Weeper

Sand Weeper is a level 20 fire dragon in the Whistling Wastes. The battle took a quarter of an hour (starts at the 7th minute and ends at the 21st). He quickly removed all his health and relaxed a little, considering that the job was done. But it was a big mistake. The dragon at some point knocked out everyone except Blackwall and spawned its cubs, which prevented the Gray Guardian from reviving his comrades. The situation became critical when Blackwall had virtually no health left. The computer enemy seemed to have acquired a human mind and, out of spite, poured fire without stopping. The prospect of a quick reboot and wasted time was not at all pleasing, but we still managed to get through the battle.

The Whistling Wastes - Fairel's Tomb

Behind the dragon is the Tomb of Firel, which must be opened using the key parts. But as I said above, I missed one part, so I had to go back. In the tomb you can find the drawing “Excellent Rune against Demons”.

How to Defeat a Dragon - Fereldan Hellebore

Despite its name, Frostbite uses fire magic. This level 12 dragon can be found in the northeast of the Hinterlands location (video 2:20).

Varric's Story

This video is entirely dedicated to completing Varric's quest. We return to Vallamar, kill the bad gnomes, watch the cut-scene. It took 10 minutes to do everything. I spent about the same amount of time on upgrading Bianchi (Varrick's crossbow). In one of the previous parts I was already in Vallamar. At that time it was not possible to open the 3rd level of the card. So it will only be available in this mission.

How to Defeat a Dragon - Deep High Dragon

This level 14 dragon can be found in the Western Reach (in the southern part). We approach the researcher Frederic and take on the quest to lure the dragoness. We set traps, wait, kill. The Deep High Dragon, like Frostbite, is a fire dragon, so if you plan to go to her early, it makes sense to stock up on fire protection potions.

Arbor Wilderness

Corypheus plans to find and appropriate an ancient elven artifact - Eluvian (then it turns out that he needs a certain Source of Sorrow), and we plan to stop him. The bottom line is that we run through the forest to the desired marker, you can turn on invisibility and not be distracted at all by the showdown between the templars and the soldiers of the Inquisition.

We run to the Mythal Temple, watch the cut-scene and solve puzzles at the level of the first grade of an elementary school - walk on the tiles without stepping on the same tile twice. The task is simple, but the implementation is such that sometimes for some unknown reason the “double click” still works, so you have to repeat the procedure again.

Mythal Temple and bugs

So, we are still in the elven temple. The main task is to prevent the leader of the Red Templars, Samson, from reaching the Source first. The commander jumps into some hole and then the first choice appears: jump after him or solve several puzzles with tiles as Morrigan advises. In this case, I listened to the advice and went to run on the tiles. I think that you can go through this episode in both ways, but if you don’t go through the temple test and immediately go after Samson, then he will most likely get to the source first, which is not very good from a plot point of view, besides, I would not get the achievement “ The fruits of pride." But just in case, before the tiles, I decided to make a manual save, which later played a very important role.

The puzzles are solved and the door to the inner hall is open. I go in and don’t smell any trickery. But if I had passed this place more than the first time, I would have known that a cut-scene should trigger immediately at the entrance, and inside the halls there should be battles between the templars and the ancient elves. In short, there was a serious bug. I ran throughout the temple and even found a waterfall, where Samson was supposed to be.

It gets worse. Not understanding the meaning of what was happening, I decided to jump into the waterfall... And then suddenly I realized that all this time my mind had been inside the matrix, and now it was free. In front of me is a real, gigantic real world and an open field. With all my might I ran towards the horizon, leaving Corypheus and the elves behind. And everything would be fine, everything would be fun, but then the autosave icon in the corner of the screen painted a not very rosy picture of the early end of the passage. How lucky I was to manually preserve myself on the tiles...

Against the Elves

I rebooted safely, ran through the tiles again and entered the hall. This time a cutscene triggers! A pretentious elf with a tree tattoo promises to help defeat the enemy, but after that we must leave the temple and never return here. Morrigan advises us to think carefully, since we ourselves may need the Source that Corypheus is hunting for. In the end, I choose the option against the elves - “We may need the Source.”

In this situation, I get a lot of negative reactions from allies. In the temple you will have to fight both elves and templars. And in the end, Morrigan kills the main elf so that he cannot destroy the Source. The option is not very optimistic, but if this is the price of an important elven artifact, then I am ready to accept it. Just in case, I save in this place and reboot to go through this episode again, but with the support of the elves.

For the elves

The third time I had to run over the tiles. We go into the hall and listen to the elf. I renounce my claims to the Source and choose the pro-elven option - “Let’s help each other.”

In this situation, I receive approval from the allies. In the temple there is no need to fight with anyone at all, since the elven guide will lead you in a different direction. At the same time, you can find runes on the walls and chests that are inaccessible when passing against the elves. In addition, Morrigan does not kill the elf, since he allows the source to be used. In short, this option goes under the hippie slogan - “Make Love Not War”.

The fight with Samson itself is very simple in any case. This boss has level 21 and a very painful blow, but in both cases he aggressed against the Blackwall tank, to whom he cannot inflict damage in principle. We calmly stand aside and watch as Sera shoots arrows into the carcass. In the video it may seem like the fight is difficult, but in reality I just didn’t try very hard, since the outcome was known in advance.

Samson's trial

I turned on the recording because I planned to carry out the first execution and cut off Samson’s head with my own hands. I haven’t executed anyone yet, but when I decided to do it with a notorious villain, I wasn’t given that option. But since I recorded the video, then let it be. That's all for now.

This article will present the passage of side quests in several locations of the role-playing game. Basically, these will be high-level lands, which can be reached after arriving at the Skyhold fortress.

Western limit

This location is intended for players from level 10 to 14. Upon arrival at the Skyhold fortress, we will have the quest “To the Western Reach”. It is necessary to perform the appropriate operation on the military table, and then go to the Western Reach. Once you arrive there, the quest will immediately end.

Venatori
This task will be given to you after your first arrival at the location. To continue the mission, you should read the book located in the starting camp. Then you need to go west and find the damaged carts. A little north of them there are two entrances to the cave. The left one should be opened, not the right one. If you want to get there, then you will need a magician, since only he is able to create the structure we need. In the dungeon, we kill spiders and read the book that will lie on one of the tables. This will end the quest.
Relic Hunt
To open this mission, you need to take on an operation called “Crossing the Sulfur Pits” on the military table. Then we go to the Western Limit again and go to the fortress located in the northwest of the first camp. We go into the castle and find several Venatori led by Lucanus. We destroy the enemy and rejoice at the completion of the quest.

It will start automatically after we visit the Windless Ruins. First you will need to complete the above quests. Next we can pick up a good staff. Then you should go to the exit, killing all opponents along the way, and close the gap.
Assault on the Griffin Wings
It is given out by a researcher standing near the camp located in the Nazaire Pass. After accepting the task, you need to go north to the place that will be indicated on the map. We destroy all the cultists led by Macrinus, and then declare that the fortress belongs to the Inquisition by raising the appropriate flag. You can first storm the fort, and only then talk with Frederick. In this case, the quest will start and end immediately.
Dragonology

Completing additional quests - The Whistling Wastes, Western Reach and Emprise du Lyon

Completing additional quests - The Whistling Wastes, Western Reach and Emprise du Lyon

Starts automatically after examining the damaged cart and reading the note located south of the starting camp. The researcher we need is located not far from the camp located in the Nazaire Pass. To complete the task you just need to talk to the scientist.

Frederick's life
To take this quest you need to talk to Frederick. We explore the level and destroy members of the White Claws group. From their corpses it will sometimes be possible to take supplies needed by the researcher. As soon as we collect the required amount, we go again to Frederick and hand them over to him. You can collect these items even before talking with the scientist. In this case, you will immediately start and complete the task.
Hunting habits
It is given by Frederic after you complete the previous quest. You need to explore the places marked on the map and find the corpses of the Gurns. Their search is carried out by pressing the V key. After finding four corpses, we go back to the quest giver and inform him about our findings.
How to attract a dragon

You can receive this task from Frederic after you complete the task “Frederic’s Life.” The researcher will instruct you to find the internal organs of the needleback and a feather from the phoenix's tail. The location of the animals will be marked on the map. We destroy the monsters and go back to the scientist. The quest will end after a short conversation with him.

Authoritative source
It will appear in your journal immediately after completing the above task. It is necessary to return to the Skyhold fortress and take on the solution to the operation called “Translation of the text about dragons” at the military table. Afterwards we move to the Western Reach location and talk with the researcher. The quest will end.
Break off "White Claws"
It will be activated in your journal once you complete the mission "Hunting Habits". You should go south, where the ruins are located, and disarm five simple traps. These actions will attract the robbers and their leader. We kill the thugs and go back to Frederick.
Deep High Dragon

Completing additional quests - The Whistling Wastes, Western Reach and Emprise du Lyon

After completing the above tasks, you can take the quest from Frederick to kill the high dragon. To do this, you should place the bait we created in the areas marked on the map. We kill the dragon and go back to the scientist to turn in the quest. You can also offer the researcher a job in the Inquisition, thereby making him your agent.

On the trail of the church
The mission starts by exploring a low pedestal that can be found not far from the first camp - you need to go a little west past a couple of damaged carts. It is necessary to “turn on” several similar pedestals in turn, which will be marked on the map. They will lead you to the entrance to the dungeon. It will be closed with a magical barrier. Destroy it and go inside. After this the quest will end.
Trouble with the creatures of darkness
You can get this quest in the Griffin Wings fort that we captured from Captain Raylen. After accepting the task, a marker will appear on the map. We go to it and along the way we come across a canyon that is impossible to pass, since it is filled to the top with sending gas. You need to approach the bridge, of which only ruins remain, to open the operation on the military table.

Completing additional quests - The Whistling Wastes, Western Reach and Emprise du Lyon

We return to the Skyhold fortress, convene a military council and complete the task “Find out where the creatures of darkness come from.” Afterwards we go back to our location and find the once destroyed bridge, which was completely restored by the forces of the Inquisition. We pass along it and find ourselves on the other side of the canyon. We go to Korakavus. We study a new level and destroy all opponents along the way. After a short period of time, two new quests will be activated. One of them is performed in the same place where it was given to us. You need to approach the magician to the partially broken wall, behind which a fire is visible, and click with the mouse on the place where the icon in the form of a small staff is displayed.

Then we walk along the created path. We approach the locked door and examine the corpse lying nearby. We find the key, unlock the closed door and move on. Along the way you will have to fight a strong enemy, so prepare in advance for a difficult battle. Afterwards, we go outside through the entrance located in the south and continue our path to the fortress, which will be marked on the map. There we will meet a group of enemies led by Serbius. After killing everyone by the enemy, Serbius will find himself on the floor with a minimum health bar. You can either leave him for dead or try him (one of the trial options will allow you to make him your agent).

This water has a funny taste
The mission is given by Captain Raylen. You will need to go to the canyon marked on the map and kill one warghest. That's it, the quest is completed.
The fortress and its occupiers

This mission can be obtained from Knight-Captain Raylen, located in the Griffin Wings fort. To complete it, you need to go to the location indicated on the map and kill all the pirates. There is nothing difficult about it.

Emprise du Lyon

To get to this location you need to perform an operation on the military table called “Timely Intervention”. Emprise du Lion is designed for characters from level 16 to 22. Get ready to face several high dragons.

Infestation in Sarnia
You will be given this quest almost immediately after arriving at this location. You will need to go to the destroyed village and talk there with a woman named Poulain. As you can see, the mission is not difficult.
Liberation of Lyon

Completing additional quests - The Whistling Wastes, Western Reach and Emprise du Lyon

We get it when talking with Poulin. You need to take turns clearing several areas on the map of templars who abuse red lyrium. In these places it will be possible to set up camps of the Inquisition. Once you destroy the last group of villains, the quest will end.

Call me Imshel
If you want to get this task, then you need to talk with a guy named Michel, who will stand near the exit from the destroyed settlement. Completing this mission intersects with the quest related to the assault on Suledin Castle. During his capture, you are unlikely to miss the demon Imshel. He will try to bargain with you. If you agree to his conditions, the boy will die. If you fight the evil one, then Michelle can become your agent. I note that Imshel is one of the “Unallowed” - a group of the most powerful and ancient demons in the Shadow. You can read more detailed information about it here.
Career matters
In the south of Emprise du Lyon, south of the sign showing the quest “Salvation among the stones” you can find a hidden letter (press the V key constantly). Afterwards we go to Madame Poulain and have a heart-to-heart talk with her. The quest will end here. Afterwards you can judge her for all her sins.

This mission begins after successfully completing the missions "Infestation in Sarnia" and "Liberation of Lyon". To complete it you need to go to the places marked on the map and release all the slaves from the cells.

Red invaders
You will have it immediately after visiting the camp near the tower. This quest can be completed simultaneously with the mission described above. We go to the places marked on the map and destroy all the templar lieutenants who take red lyrium.
Assault on the Suledin fortress
Having completed the task associated with the liberation of Lyon, we go west from the last location of the Red Templars. Before starting this quest, do not forget to take a mission from Michel to kill the demon Imshel. We break into the fort and kill all the enemies we meet. Then we raise the flag of the Inquisition.
The enemy will not pass!

Having captured the Suledin fortress, we talk with Desjardins and go to the site of the destroyed bridge, located in the southeast of the camp near the tower. Here the operation for the war table is activated. We move to Skyhold and perform the operation that appears.

Letter in the hollow
When freeing slaves, you may meet an infected girl (on the map she will be marked first with a question and then with an exclamation mark). Talk to her a little, and then take the note to the hollow, the location of which will be shown on the map.
Mom's ring
In a destroyed settlement, in one of the huts you can find a crying girl who tells us that she lost her mother’s ring. Some people report that on the PC version of the game this mission is bugged, since the player cannot activate the box with the mouse. If the same thing happened to you, then try using the F key while on the right side of the girl. Then we go to the location marked on the map and begin the search for the ring (V key). Then we go to the woman again and return the jewelry to her.

Forced confession
During the quest related to the liberation of slaves, you can find a letter that will activate the task “A Forced Confession”. It will appear on the map as an exclamation mark. Once you find the note, take it to Louis to complete the mission.
Tons of ore
We go west from the camp near the tower and cross the bridge. We stop near a place around which there are destroyed buildings. Press the V key and start looking for a book to activate this quest. We will be able to continue it only after reconstructing the bridge on the military table. Afterwards you will need to cross the bridge, turn left and go down. Then press the V key again to find the item we need and complete the task.
With the same coin
Walking a little west from the tower camp, you can see an exclamation mark on the map. We approach it and find a book near the trees. You need to read it to start a new quest. We go to the area marked on the map and again look for the book using the V key. We read it, thereby completing the mission.
Nesting

This quest can be taken from Desjardins at Fort Suledin. He will give it to us only after repairing the bridge (carried out by selecting the appropriate operation on the military table). The essence of the quest is to destroy three high dragons. Their location will be marked on the map.

Valeska's post
If you go east from the tower camp, a locked door icon will appear on the map. The key to it can be found on a corpse lying nearby. To do this, press the V key. Opens the door, and we find a couple of good items. The quest will end here.
Trapper
If you go northwest from the destroyed settlement, you can find an island located right in the middle of a lake covered with ice. An exclamation mark will appear on the map indicating the location of the book. We read it, then go to the place marked with a marker and find the note. Mission Complete.

It is also issued by Desjardins after the reconstruction of the bridge. You will need to visit the three areas marked on the map and kill all the templars who abuse red lyrium. Afterwards we set up the banners of the Inquisition to capture the towers.

Whistling Wastes

This location is intended for heroes from level 19 to 23. You can get into it after completing a task on the military table called “Stop Venatori Activities in the West.” It will cost you twenty influence points.

Sand and ruins
Signs will appear on the map showing where the Venatori camps are located. We destroy the enemies, and then go to the camp where the leader of the cultists is located. We kill him and take a note from the masters of the Teventir Empire from the table. It talks about the drawings of the gnomes hidden in the tomb (related to the quest Tomb of Firel).
Fairel's Tomb
To open this tomb you need to find the five components of the mysterious key. Not far from the Four Pillars camp there is an entrance to one of the tombs. Standing facing its entrance, you need to light the lamps in a certain order: the farthest on the left, the nearest on the right, the nearest on the left and the farthest on the right. Inside there will be a mosaic element and a chest in which one of the key parts will lie.

There will be a second tomb located next to the Canyon grave near the merchant. We light the lamps again in the following order: nearest to the left, nearest to the right, farthest to the right and farthest to the left. Inside there will be a chest with a piece of the key.

We go to the Burial Grounds and find the third tomb. We stand facing it and light the lamps: first the left one, then we move back a little, then the right one, and at the end we go straight to the entrance to the tomb. There we will find a mosaic element and a chest with a piece of the key.

The fourth tomb is located at the Sun's Nest, but its main entrance will be blocked. Therefore, you need to climb up the path located on the left side of the entrance. Then we find the descent. We go down and find an excerpt from the gnome's diary. Just before another descent there is a rune on the wall. Don't miss it. Below we will find a mosaic element in the room where there is an elven artifact, which strengthens the curtain and prevents the appearance of new faults. We light the lamps again in the following order: farthest to the right, nearest to the left, nearest to the right and farthest to the left. Inside is a chest with part of the key and a mosaic piece.

The fifth tomb is located at the Orlesian colossus (standing near the upper camp). Again we light the lamps in the following order: farthest to the left, nearest to the right, farthest to the right and nearest to the left. Here we will find a mosaic element and a chest with the last part of the key.

Fairel's tomb can be found in the eastern part of the location. Marked its location on the map. The lair of the high dragon is also located here. You can kill her or bypass her. She is sleeping, and therefore there is a chance that the dragoness simply will not notice you. In the tomb you will find a drawing of a powerful rune. That's it, the quest is completed.

Bone fields
We go in the direction of the marker on the map. In the designated place we see a cage on wheels. Near her there will be three corpses and many spiders. We kill the crawling creatures and take the treasures hidden in the chest. The quest will end here.
Notes on the Wasteland
There are eight diaries scattered throughout the level, which describe the Whistling Wastes. They are located in the following places:

A description of the location, as well as maps of the area with astrariums, ocularums, fragments of mosaics and much more can be found on the corresponding page:

You can get to the location after completing the task “Suppress Venatori activities in the west” at the command headquarters for 20 influence points.

Fairel's Tomb

So, we need to collect five parts of the key. We focus on the caves colored blue on the map above.

Near the Four Pillars camp. It is necessary to light four lamps with curtain fire on the columns with fragments of text in a certain sequence. Standing facing the entrance to the tomb - far left, near right, near left, far right. Inside we find a fragment of the mosaic, in the chest there is a part of the key.

Grave in the Canyon with a merchant. We light the lamps in the order that corresponds to the meaning of the story embossed on the columns (what is written: near left, near right, far right, far left). We take part of the key from the chest.

At the Cemeteries we light the lamps according to the same principle, standing facing the tomb, left, then a little back, then right, then closer to the tomb. Inside we find a fragment of the mosaic, in the chest there is a part of the key.

At the Sun's Nest, the main entrance is blocked; we go up along the road to the left of the entrance. There will be a descent. Inside is part of a dwarven diary. Before descending below, we draw a rune on the wall. Further down. Don't miss the mosaic fragment in the room with the elven artifact (reinforcing the veil). We go to the tomb (far right, near left, near right, far left). Inside we find a fragment of the mosaic, in the chest there is a part of the key.

The fifth tomb is at the Orlesian Colossus near the upper camp. We light the lamps: far left, near right, far right, near left. Inside we find a fragment of the mosaic, in the chest there is a part of the key.

Fairel's tomb itself is located in the east of the map. There is also a dragon's lair, while he sleeps, you can walk around him. Pick up the rune drawing and the mission is over.

Sand and ruins

We search the Venatori camps, which are indicated by markers. We focus on the green dots on the map above. After clearing the camp with the leader, we take from the table a letter to the masters, in which they talk about some dwarf drawings that they are looking for in a dwarf tomb (quest Firel's Tomb).

He hates deserts because there is no life in them. He looks at the mound of glass melting into the sand, which flows in shades of yellow into the horizon illuminated by a fireball, hates the dry air tearing his throat and the burning sensation in his reddened eyes. Anders can say with confidence that his hell is built on a foundation of cracked dry earth, braided with dry thorny driftwood and decorated with shaky columns of once-built temples. And the ruins of the church. But in the Whistling Wastes, things are different. The night almost never leaves its patrol, dispersing the frosty air and covering the bright colors with a grayish haze. Looking at the eternally peaceful sheets of sand, decorated with rare ripples of the wind, Anders wants to fall through this feather bed and, fixing his gaze on the sky, mesmerizing with its ocean blue, give his soul to the moon. This ghostly disk that dissolves in the spray of stars and, ruling as its sole master, does not allow the sun to rise above the horizon. Without light there is no and cannot be life here. But Anders doesn't mind being alone. Having long ago become accustomed, he, as if completely devoid of a bodily shell, scurries among the stone pillars and hides from the light of the lamps, obtaining information for the Inquisition, and reproaches himself for agreeing to this. Unable to remain unnoticed constantly and cursing his human insides, he dips his hands in the blood of the templars. Again. And he is suffocating because, reveling in their pain, reflected in their gaze as a god who decides life and death, he cannot stop. And he kills everyone, usually three or four, that broke away from the group. He buries their bodies, knocking together crosses from boards charred by fires, and then, returning to the camp once set up by the Inquisitor, takes out a pen and, plunging into the fire of candles, writes down everything that he managed to hear from the conversation and find on the remains of their resting places. This is the only way, it seems to Anders, that he can atone for everything he has done. But Anders cannot wash the blood off his hands, no matter how much he rubs them under the running water. His palms are red from the cold and are burning, and only by pressing them to his cheeks and closing his eyes does he forget about everything for a second. Sometimes Anders needs to be alone. He exhales and leans back against the wine barrel, now empty and serving as storage for “souvenirs” found in the desert. Filled with scraps of crumpled paper, metal amulets and heavy tomes for the Skyhold library, it cannot be moved. Sometimes Anders takes out one of the books and, trying to read it, runs his eyes along the lines. But he never manages to understand what is written on the yellowing pages. His thoughts are constantly directed into the depths of his past and the distance of the future, but never freeze in the present. He simply does not understand what this moment “now” means, meaning nothing in billions of similar moments of his life. One out of a billion, he was only once able to change a destiny greater than just his own. Thinking about this, he cannot stop scrolling in his head pictures of clear memories that do not become cloudy over the years. Feeling the real taste of life only then, in Kirkwall, he did not think about the correctness or sinfulness of his actions until everything went too far. Anders cannot say with certainty whether this was his happiness. Since then, it seems to him that the spirit has consumed him, taking his body. Taking a person. Anders doesn't know why he continues to live, too weak to commit suicide. In order to overcome Justice, who cannot allow him to do so. When rumors of the beginning of the Inquisition spread across the lands of Thedas, he thought that it might contain his light, and, emerging from the darkness of the hermitage, he reached out to it. Then he still had hope of meeting the beacons of the past, and was incredibly glad to see Varric, who treated the magician cordially, as in former times. But Anders never lost the feeling that everyone around him saw right through him, and even the dwarf hypocritically hides his contempt for him under the guise of a friend. Every day it starts to look more and more like madness. Here, in the Whistling Wastes, where no one sees him except the templars and a couple of quartermasters sent by the Inquisition who do not poke their noses in from the camp, Anders seems to have hundreds of eyes fixed on him from everywhere. That the stars are laughing at him. And those two, discussing their wives near the fire, whisper about him. About his worthlessness. The cowardice of a pathetic traitor. This world is filled with bitterness, punishing with rods for any misfire, and Anders cannot breathe, choking in these thoughts. He needs help. But he does not consider himself the one who deserves it. From the abyss, again dragging him to the bottom with strong bonds, he is brought out by the quartermaster’s voice: “Um...” the magician scares him, “while you were away, they sent a letter.” It was ordered to be handed over personally,” he holds out a package with the wax seal of the Inquisition. Anders does not immediately understand that he needs to take the message from his shaking palms and studies it for a couple of seconds without blinking, capturing the image of his eye pierced with a sword. But the young man coughs politely, and the magician, as if awakened from sleep, takes away the papers that belong to him. Now this is an outlet, hope for a new task, which - Anders firmly believes - will help him forget. He breaks the seal, and the paper rustles in a whisper under his dry fingers. It smells of the dampness of Skyhold that has not yet been rebuilt, of ink and the sweetness of mature parchment. Anders! We are grateful to you for the data that you kindly present to the Inquisition. All the information we received helped to specify the location of the templars, their weaknesses and, we regret to admit, the growth of strength. This help will be invaluable for the future campaign. We must report that a dragon has been discovered in the vicinity, guarding the path to the tomb, which may prevent further espionage. Due to the fact that we cannot allow you to go fight him alone, which would only mean inevitable death, it was decided to send several companions to help. With their arrival within the next few hours, you will receive more precise instructions.

Sincerely.

There was no signature. Instead, there was a stamp, apparently replacing a whole horde of advisers who called themselves bosses. Several companions, he thought. People. People he doesn't know. Again. Anders is afraid that he will not be able to become what they want to see in front of them. Anders is afraid of people. And instead of justified hopes, he receives another arrow in the heart. He leans his head back onto the steel rim of the barrel. She rolls up the letter and holds it to the candle flame. The paper cracks, turns black and shrinks ugly into a brittle coal. Anders crushes it, still hot, with his fingers, turning it into white ash, and exposes his palms to the wind, allowing it to carry away the blue dust. Lighting up with yellow fire, it looks like the stars that have been relentlessly watching him all this time.
