What do squids eat in minecraft. Squids in Minecraft Pocket Edition! Soon!!! When to expect squid in PE

Hi guys! Today I want to please the news about animals. There was information that soon, in a pocket minecraft versions squid will appear. Unfortunately, the exact date has not yet been called, but most likely it depends on how easily they can be introduced into the game. We're not sure if squid will be added in version 0.9.0, but there is a huge chance that these aquatic animals will be introduced closer to version 1.0.0 later this year.

What kind of squid will be in minecraft pocket Edition?

As you know, in the PC version of the game, squids are the only aquatic animals. Despite their intimidating appearance, they are friendly and do not attack players. Here is a screenshot of a squid from the PC version of Minecraft.

What do squids do?

They usually just swim in the water, often in small groups. They are difficult to find at great depths, since they are usually located almost on the surface, which makes it very easy to find them, noticing a small part of the water.

What can be obtained from squid?

After killing the squid, you will receive an ink bag, which is used to craft some items. Also, the ink bag is a black dye.

When should we expect squid to appear in PE?

→ Octopus (Squid): description, ID, screenshots, etc.

The octopus is an eight-armed creature that appears in the water. The octopus is always friendly to the player, like other passive mobs. It can only be found in water above 45 and below 63 and spawns in all biomes.

Appearance

Octopuses have 8 limbs, a dark color and teeth that are located on the lower part of their head. Like other mobs, they have eyes, but unusual ones. Their eyes are a little slanted. And although in the game they are called squids (Squid - squid (English)), they are more like octopuses.

Usage

After killing an octopus, it drops 1-3 ink sacs, used to create black dye. Which in turn is used with many items: leather armor, wool, clay, sheep, etc.

Also, with the help of an ink bag and bone meal, dark gray and light gray dyes are crafted, and when using a bag with a feather and a book, you can get new item Pen with a book.

Behavior, fight

When moving, octopuses open and close their tentacles, so they repel and move. They constantly swim around one point, and when they see the player, they begin to swim away from him. Octopuses will not start attacking the GG under any circumstances.

In early versions on land, octopuses simply could not move, but now on land they suffocate and die. They, like other ground mobs, take damage and burn in the sun, but unlike them, octopuses can swim.

Octopuses cannot swim in lava, even if given a slot of fire resistance. In this case, in the lava they will feel the same as on the shore and will die.

Unlike other mobs, octopuses can swim against the current.

Farming

Although octopuses can swim against the current, they cannot swim up in a waterfall. Therefore, there is an easy way to "breed" octopuses: in the ocean or a deep lake, dig a hole 8x8 in size and 3 cubes deep. Falling water into the hole (the same principle of the waterfall) will bring the squid right here. Here, with the help of complex funnels and channel systems, it is possible to bring the octopus to the "player's headquarters", where it is already possible to kill the octopus.

  • The octopus is the first and so far the only water mob.
  • The octopus takes no damage when you attack its tentacles.
  • Octopuses are the first passive mobs that spawn in any light level and without grass.
  • During the loading of the world, all squids have their tentacles turned to the east.
  • The octopus is the only mob (apart from the bat) that does not reproduce.
  • It is possible that the octopus takes damage when it falls.
  • The octopus (like the ocelot and the bat) may disappear.

1.2. Octopuses live in water, at great depths, often in groups of several individuals (2-5). They spawn on any difficulty level and will not attack the player under any circumstances like other friendly mobs. The only practical use of octopuses is getting ink sacs.

After 1.4.4, octopuses cannot exist out of water and will suffocate when washed ashore.

Behavior

Octopuses swim aimlessly, trying to swim near the bottom of the reservoir in which they find themselves. If the depth of the reservoir in which the octopus ended up is 1 block, then some parts of this mob will be above the water. One such case is shown in this video. If the octopus collides with the shore, it will make a noise similar to what ground mobs make when colliding with blocks. When the octopus moves underwater, as well as when the player attacks it, its tentacles close and open. Octopuses will not attack the player, even if he starts to attack them.

Spawn

Octopuses spawn in water at any depth, they can spawn both in the source block and in the stream. The octopus can theoretically appear in a 1x1x1 pool, although the probability of this is extremely small. Light level doesn't matter.

A prerequisite is to have a transparent block directly above the selected water block to spawn - such as another water block, air, glass, ice, etc. Octopuses will not spawn in a 1 block deep pool that is topped off with a rock.

The reason for the well-known difficulty in breeding octopuses is the low spawn rate of aquatic inhabitants - it is three times lower than that of land animals and fourteen times lower than that of monsters. The maximum number of octopuses that the game will try to spawn again is 5.7 per player. This means that in singleplayer, after the spawn of six octopuses, spawning can completely stop until they die / despawn. However, up to six octopuses per chunk can appear on the map at a time, if each randomly selected spawn location falls into a suitable block. Otherwise, the same rules apply as for other groups of mobs - the spawn area is a square area of 17x17 chunks around the player, excluding blocks up to 24 meters away from the player.

Data

  • It is impossible to catch an octopus with a bait and pull it out of the water in this way.
  • When they are out of the water, they are motionless (only tentacles move), but do not die (they die from version 1.4.4pre).
  • They have 8 tentacles.
  • Due to a bug, octopuses before 1.4.4 could swim out of water and even in the air. From version 1.4.4 octopuses die out of water.
  • Previously, octopuses could not float, but only sank. After the Beta 1.3 update, they can swim in three dimensions.
  • When taking damage, the octopus can rise or fall by 1/3 - 1/2 of the block height.
  • Dying, they do not fall sideways, but continue to "swim" for about a second, then disappear.
  • Quietly drifting on a boat or just being nearby, you can hear the rustling of octopuses touching the bottom.
  • Despite having a large toothy mouth, they do not attack the player.
  • Sometimes they can appear in underground lakes.
  • Floating to the surface of the water, they pose a danger to the boat.
  • Octopuses and bats are the only friendly mobs that cannot reproduce.
