Revelation exchanges fame for resources. Exorcism in Revelation, aka The Order. From whom, where and what can you buy for bronze gardeons?

In Revelation you will have an exciting journey of developing your character and participating in a huge number of events - both PvE and PvP, and general game ones.

There are a number of options available to create a truly powerful hero. It's not enough to just reach the maximum level and get a good set of equipment. The development system is very deep and allows you to optimize the character’s characteristics in strict accordance with the tasks facing its owner.

This list of main events in the game will help you not to get lost in the diverse world of Revelation, as well as the cheat sheet below with a list of what you should pay special attention to at certain levels. We also advise you to pay attention to the section on the forum “”, where experienced players share their accumulated knowledge with beginners.

Development

DEVELOPMENT OPTIONS (“BUILDS”)

As your character gains levels, new skills will be unlocked (K key). By investing development points in each of them, you can create unique “builds” for different situations. The game offers the ability to store several “builds” at once and switch between them at the right time. For example, to bet on different skills in PvP and PvE, simply save both combinations and use them alternately.

TALENTS FOR EACH SKILL

All skills have their own development tree - a set of additional modifying talents. These talents can increase damage dealt, reduce mana consumption, apply a burning or freezing effect to the target, etc. In this way, you can add uniqueness to your own “build” by choosing the most effective combinations for you. The higher the level of your character and the more development milestones he has unlocked, the more talent points are available to him. You can get them by spending experience gained and Asterion Taels, earned for completing tasks and killing monsters.

RAGE SKILLS

You also need to obtain and develop your rage skills. Rage skills are character superpowers that require the use of a special type of energy that is restored during combat. For each class, rage skills are unique and are one of the key features. Therefore, their development should be given especially close attention. We get the first ultimate skills (F-skills). There are a total of 8 of them for each class, and they are divided into three types (star skill, two-star and three-star).

A star skill can be obtained by completing the storyline, a two-star skill is obtained automatically upon reaching a certain level, 3* rage skills require Fragments of the Book of Rage, which, in turn, can be obtained as a reward for completing the Abode of Suffering instance in training mode, available for older characters Level 25, for completing some quests, and they can also be exchanged for Pages of Books of Rage from the NPC Meter Otta in Asterion. Fragments of books of rage are also sold in the Game Store.

The more often your character uses rage skills, the more powerful they become. Apply these skills whenever possible, and their level and effectiveness will increase. In addition, you can upgrade your rage skills from the Evil Yari at the guild base. To do this, you will need points earned by completing guild quests. But in this case, the level of the rage skill increases in passive mode - the character’s presence at the base at this time is not necessary.

Each rage skill has a development tree. By activating its “branches”, you can give skills special properties. For example, one of the druid’s abilities that heals allies, after improvement, will not only restore health, but also create armor on the target. To modify rage skills, you will need special orbs, which can be purchased for PvP or PvE reputation, and can also be obtained by killing monsters in dungeons. You can upgrade all these skills at the Guild Base with a special NPC. To do this, you will need guild contribution points for this, so you need to do guild quests daily, and also donate guild resources that drop from dungeons or you receive by sq. Guide to ultimates.

DEVELOPMENT MILESTONES

All characters have access to 6 development milestones. The discovery of each new milestone provides a number of bonuses. This could be additional stat points, the ability to use aerial combat skills, an increase in maximum health and attack power, the ability to use a unique class mount, and much more. Each milestone has its own requirements. Almost all of them are related to the development of your character: gain a certain level, use talent and stat points, improve your rage skills, etc. Those who carefully complete story tasks will be able to receive a special item as a reward, necessary to activate each milestone.

BRAKTEATE

A bracteate is a special disk into the center of which a magic crystal is inserted. The better the quality of the disc, the more holes it will have. By inserting different combinations of gems into them, you can activate passive bonuses. For example, an increase in character characteristics, an increase in magic resistance or the effectiveness of healing abilities. By changing combinations of stones on the disk, you can use bonuses at the right time to achieve various game goals.

Equipment

EQUIPMENT

There are several types of equipment in Revelation, each of which suits certain classes. The Mage and Druid wear cloth clothing, the Marksman and Reaper wear leather armor, and the Guardian and Knight wear plate armor. All classes also have exclusive weapons. For example, only a Druid can deftly handle a magic bell, and only a Shooter can hold a powerful sniper rifle in his hands. All this should be taken into account when forming a group in order to balance the number of applicants for equipment of the same type.

ITEMS QUALITY LEVELS

Equipment has several quality levels, which are indicated by colors. From lowest to highest they are gray (or white), green, blue, purple and gold. In addition, there are already special materials for creating even cooler equipment - orange. And the developers are preparing to add it to the game soon. Green and blue items can be obtained by killing monsters in the open world and in dungeons, as well as by completing certain tasks. Purple ones are obtained in dungeons or by killing bosses in the open world, and can also be purchased for city reputation, honor points, and reputation points in the Order of the Guardians.

The most valuable equipment in the game is gold. It can be obtained by completing a dungeon, purchased for honor points if your character has reached the required PvP rank, or for reputation points in the Order of the Guardians. And you can only create the best equipment yourself. The first set of such armor can be obtained at level 37 by completing special missions in the main story and collecting or purchasing resources. Created items differ from ordinary gold items by having higher characteristics. Additionally, once a hero reaches a higher level, crafted gold items can be reforged and leveled up, retaining additional upgrades.

CHARACTERISTICS OF ITEMS

Revelation characters have 5 basic stats (strength, stamina, energy, agility, intelligence) and 33 secondary stats (for example, chance to inflict a critical hit, chance to evade enemy attacks, resistance to physical damage). Equipment can provide bonuses to any characteristics. The selection and targeted upgrade of equipment, combined with the ability to change secondary parameters, provide the ability to “fine-tune” the character. The flexibility of Revelation is also evident in the fact that the resources necessary for upgrading equipment can be obtained in different ways - in dungeons or in the open world, received for completing tasks, or purchased for reputation and currency.

Some secondary parameters appear on equipment under certain conditions: for example, additional damage from various elements is revealed only when the item awakens. And parameters such as additional damage and damage resistance in PvE and PvP are only available on gems.

RANDOM CHARACTERISTICS OF CRAFTED ITEMS

Crafted equipment items in Revelation receive several characteristics. Blue characteristics are fixed. Green ones are random (there can be from 1 to 3, and the bonus value is determined randomly). By spending resources, you can change the green characteristics of an item an unlimited number of times until you are satisfied with the result. All indicators (number of characteristics, increased parameter and bonus size) will be determined anew.

SHARPENING (ENHANCED) ITEMS

All items in Revelation, except bracteate and amulets, can be improved at the Armorer using whetstones. There are 16 levels of enchantment in total - the higher the level of the item being improved, the more of these levels are available for it. Each increases the item's stats by a few percent within a given range (for example, 2-5%). The chance of successful improvement depends on the amount of invested resources, and it can be increased to 100%. But the result of sharpening will remain random. Each level of improvement can be tried again to achieve a better result. Repeated attempts are carried out separately for each level an unlimited number of times.

TRANSFER OF SHARPENING

If your character needs to change equipment, but you are sad to lose the level of improvement received for the old equipment, you can transfer the improvements to the new set. To do this, you will need to collect a certain amount of resources and find a gunsmith. Resources will be required to transfer the enhancement level without loss. If you transfer an improvement from a stronger item to a weaker one, then saving the level will be free. Improvements can also be transferred between different types of items. That is, for example, from weapons to armor.

AWAKENING OBJECTS

In Revelation, any item of hero's combat equipment can be awakened: the characteristics of things gradually increase when the character on whom they are worn kills monsters. There are four levels of item awakening. The first three become available at the 5th, 9th and 13th levels of improvement (sharpening). The item gains random additional characteristics. The color with which the characteristics are highlighted corresponds to the strength of the bonus they provide (from least to highest - green, blue, purple, gold). Unlike sharpening, awakening occurs automatically. By collecting special resources, you can independently activate up to three additional characteristics on an awakened piece of equipment. And from a special NPC, for example, from Vienna in Hot Springs, you can awaken the item a fourth time for a fee.

GEMS

With the help of a special NPC, you can create slots for gems in items. 1-2 regular cells for PvP and PvE stones and 1 additional one, which requires the use of a special resource). If desired, the stones can be pulled back out. 4 identical stones can be combined into one higher quality stone. In addition to ordinary precious stones, there are runic stones that can only be inserted into a bracteate.

Exorcism will become available once the character reaches level 30

So, what is Exorcism?! In a nutshell, this is a certain organization that fights evil. And this Order of Guardians gives you tasks to complete dungeons. Also, additionally, for completing other dungeons that are suitable for your character’s level, you will be given another 200 units of Order currency, i.e. bronze gardeons.

Order rank and how to raise it

Let's take a closer look at the Order tab, which is located in the character window (called by the C button)

➀ The level of our Order, which rises through merit points and passing tests.

➁ Bronze gardeons - the amount of currency we have on hand.

➂ Information about the earned gardeons this week, as well as their maximum limit for the week.

➃ Rank Up Level Bar.

➄ When you receive 500, 850 and 1000 points, the receive reward button will become active. When you click, we get bonuses in the form of chests with different goodies.

➅ ➆ ➇ Tasks of the Guardians of the Order to be completed. There are daily tasks - updated every 12 hours, weekly - every week and tasks available twice a month.

➈ Requirements that must be met to pass this test to increase your rank: character level, merit points and instances passed with the highest rating. By the way, the instas must be different, the passage of one and the other will be counted only once. Afterwards we talk to the NPC we need and start the test to increase the rank.

➉ Bonuses for increasing rank - information about what we will receive and be able to purchase upon completion of the test for increasing rank.

The higher the rank of the Order in Revelation, the more items you can purchase in special stores for bronze gardeons.

From whom, where and what can you buy for bronze gardeons?

Merchants of the Order are located in many cities, the items and things of each of them may be different. Therefore, we recommend visiting the NPC “Senior Quartermaster Daon”, where you will find the most interesting:

  • books of ultimate skills
  • scrolls of seal of rage
  • glyphs for skills
  • inlay stones of different levels
  • things for crafting gold gear, etc.

The last point is the most interesting, so we recommend spending bronze gardeons only on things to create gold gear.

The NPC "Chief Quartermaster Daon" can be reached through the character window. In the Order tab, to the right of the rank level, there is a button that moves to this merchant.

Leveling up a character in any MMORPG is the foundation of the player’s entire future gaming experience. How correctly you take your first steps in an unfamiliar world often determines what will be available to you in later steps. Of course, in our time, many developers have abandoned even the theoretical possibility of ruining characters by making the wrong choice at the very beginning of the journey, but the ability to quickly and optimally skip the first levels during the release of the next project can greatly increase your chances of “coming to success.”

MMORPG Revelation is no exception, which is localized in our region by Mail.ru. So what should a newbie pay attention to? What should he do first and what mistakes should he avoid? Let's talk about this.

The first step in any MMORPG is character creation. There are 6 classes available to you: Guardian, Knight, Druid, Reaper, Mage and Shooter. Each of them performs its own function in raids and PvP. The roles of the Guardian and Druid are obvious - one is the best tank in the game, and the other is the only full-fledged healer. The knight is a class capable of fulfilling 2 roles, depending on the chosen build - in a combat stance, he deals quite high physical damage, and in a defensive stance, he is able to restrain opponents, blocking their attacks.
The Reaper is a local support class that is quite capable of inflicting decent damage and helping the Druid increase the health of his party members, as well as increase their overall damage or save a dying person, making him completely invulnerable for a while. The Mage is the king of AoE damage in the game. Thanks to the electric stance, you can quickly and effectively deal with hordes of opponents, and by switching to the fire stance, you can inflict quite decent damage on individuals. The ice stance is used for control. The Mage's best friend is the Reaper, who is capable, among other things, of reducing the magical resistance of opponents. The last class we haven't talked about yet is the Marksman. The shooter delivers the most impressive damage to a single target, is able to break the distance well with opponents and force the opposing team’s healers in the Arena to work hard in an attempt to save the lives of their comrades. The Marksman's best friend is the Knight, who can seriously reduce the armor of opponents.

In terms of class difficulty, in my personal opinion, Reaper and Knight are ahead, while Mage and Marksman are quite simple.

So, we've chosen a class, created a character - what next? The first step on the path of the future hero will be the choice of a control model. In Revelation, you can use either the classic TAB system, or the now popular pseudo-nontarget, or mouse click movement, like in old MMORPGs. You can change your choice at any time, so don't be afraid to experiment.

The newly appeared hero will be offered a chain of tasks, which forms part of the large main storyline of the game, which will introduce you to the main characters - Emperor Ash and his party members. It is by completing tasks from this chain that you will have to deal with the first 21 levels, without being distracted by anything else. During this stage of leveling, you will also be shown the Arena of the Four Gods - a single-player instance in which you will have to undergo various challenges that will test your dexterity, attentiveness and, of course, combat skills.

Also, it is at level 21 that new opportunities will open up for your character. By visiting the solo story mode of the first dungeon, you will also open its group version. Don't be afraid to invite high-level players - thanks to special quests, they are also quite interested in helping newcomers.

Another new activity available is the Sunken Ship. This location is intended for hunting monsters on an industrial scale. When you go inside, first of all, find a special NPC who will offer you to increase all the experience you gain from monsters in this location. But keep in mind that only a limited amount of time is given per week to gain double experience, which, however, can be increased by drinking special potions. In any case, don't forget to refreeze the timer on the same NPC when you're done grinding. You can only gain experience from 180 monsters per day, but this limit can be increased by using Snake Milk and other similar items that can be obtained in various ways in the game, including buying at the entrance to the location itself.

But where can you find this location? And everything is quite simple. By pressing the U button you can call up the so-called Path of the Warrior, which lists all the daily activities available to you. Moreover, with just one click of the mouse you can go to them using the auto path, or teleport directly to the entrance by spending special items.

In addition, you should take care of finding a guild, because in Revelation being part of a friendly team is not only pleasant, but also profitable! The fact is that every day at the guild base, which can be reached from the guild registrar, or by using the auto route in the Warrior’s Path, you can complete a chain of tasks from the local innkeeper. These tasks will not only help in the development of your clan, but will also give you a significant reward in the form of experience and special contribution points. For the latter, using the guild training ground located in the center of the base, you can improve your characteristics, as well as upgrade your Rage Skills (Skills accessible by pressing the F1-F6 keys).

Once you reach level 25, you can go to Hot Springs for the first time. You can also find them either on the map or using the Path of the Warrior. This is where you can relax between difficult battles with opponents by drinking special wine, which will award you experience points. Every day you get 200 thirst points, they add up, so you can log in once a week and put your character on AFK leveling for a few hours. Wine can be obtained in various ways - it is given out for quests, it drops from bosses and monsters, NPCs will be happy to sell it at the entrance to the Springs themselves, and if you have developed cooking skills, you can create it yourself.

So, by completing daily tasks from the Path of the Warrior, as well as continuing to do Yellow and Orange quests, we reach level 30, at which the tasks of the Order of the Guardians open. The Order of the Guardians is an in-game faction that is responsible for various PvE content. It is through completing the daily and weekly tasks of this order that you will be able to obtain the resources required to synthesize the best equipment in the game at early levels. To gain reputation points and increase your rank in the order, which will give you access to new goods from the quartermasters, you need to constantly complete tasks, which can be seen on a special screen in the character menu. In addition, for reputation points with them you can buy stones that increase damage and defense when fighting monsters.

By the way, don’t forget to sharpen your equipment and don’t be shy about doing this, because you can easily transfer all the improvement progress from one item to another. You can get sharpening stones by completing quests, defeating bosses and purchasing them from NPCs for reputation. In general, the possibilities for improving equipment in the game are quite extensive. In addition to sharpening, you can also customize the armor to suit you, using copper, which can be easily obtained in dungeons, bought for reputation or obtained by disassembling dropped items, increasing the stats of equipment, insert PvP and PvE stones that will add damage or protection to you (their can be purchased for reputation points with the Order of the Guardians or for honor points by participating in battles on the Battlefields) in these areas of the game, and also add additional cells for them. The easiest way to do all this is in Warm Springs, where all the necessary NPCs are located, and there is also quick access to your personal warehouse.

Also, don’t forget about developing your character - as you level up, starting from level 29, you will receive skill points with which you can enhance your basic skills.

The next important stage in character development is level 39. It is when you reach it that you will receive the task of learning Equipment Synthesis. The tasks should explain to you in sufficient detail how to make it, using weapons as an example, but I would like to note that you can get all the necessary resources from dungeons, as well as by purchasing them for reputation with the Order of the Guardians. This is the type of equipment that is considered the most valuable in the game, although in the future you will have to add items from other sets to your set. It should also be noted that you can improve synthesized items, which will allow you to save a little on equipment upgrades.

Actually, everything else is quite simple. You should take level 59 by completing all the tasks from the Path of the Warrior every day, as well as completing yellow and orange quests. And when approaching the coveted 59, focus on collecting a full set of equipment using synthesis, before continuing the journey to level 69.

Rich in both PvP and PvE activities. You won’t have enough time for all of them, but some are simply a must - they will provide easy ways to obtain high-level equipment and many other necessary things. One of these activities is the tasks of the Order of the Guardians (formerly called “exorcism”). The Order is one of the organizations fighting the forces of evil and maintaining fragile peace on the Summer Continent, which constantly recruits new members and pays generously for completing its tasks. Let's look at how to complete the Order's tasks and why you might need it.

As soon as you reach level 30, the quest to join the Guardians will automatically appear in the orange quest line. The quest is not difficult, and after completing it, the last tab in the character menu (C key) is activated, entitled “Guardians”.

1. Character rank. Like some other in-game activities, it has its own ranking system. The higher your rank, the more trust you have in the Order, and the more rare items its merchants will sell to your character. The rank does not increase automatically - to level up in the Order, you must fulfill several conditions (see paragraph 7) and pass an exam. The list of exams for various ranks looks like this:

  • Exam for 1st rank: Available at level 30. The introductory task is the simplest - within 60 seconds you will need to dodge the boss’s attacks in the arena.
  • Rank 2 exam: Available at level 40. This is an exam, the essence of which depends on the character class you choose. You are given a minute to kill the boss, force him to attack you instead of the NPC (overaggro) or restore the health of your battle partner.
  • Rank 3 exam: Available at level 45. Standard exam (perform certain required actions with the boss) + passing the “Abandoned Temple” instance. Difficulty mode - divine.
  • Rank 4 exam: available at level 50: Standard exam + completing the “Abandoned Temple” instance in divine difficulty mode. Time limit - 15 minutes.
  • Rank 5 exam: Available at level 55. Standard exam + passage of the “Great Wall Dungeon” in divine difficulty mode.
  • Exam for 6th rank: Available at level 60. Standard exam + passage of the “Dungeon of the Great Wall”. Difficulty mode - divine. To gain rank, you will also need to obtain the “Master Jumper” achievement - during the second stage of the last boss of the instance, you need to try not to take damage even once while jumping.
  • Rank 7 exam: Available at level 65. Standard exam + passing the Machinarium instance. Difficulty mode - divine. Killing the second boss is mandatory.
  • Rank 8 exam: Available at level 70. Standard exam + passing the last boss in the Machinarium instance. You can choose any difficulty mode. Time limit - 8 minutes.
  • Exam for rank 9: Available at level 75. Standard exam + passing the Mound of Swords. Difficulty mode - divine.

2. Bronze gardeons. A special type obtained for Order tasks and required for purchases from Guardian Merchants. You will find them in many locations, and the range of goods varies from merchant to merchant (some items are unique, some can also be purchased from other NPCs). One of the best options for purchasing is Asterion (see point 4).

The main types of goods available for purchase from the Guardians are books, glyphs, seals of rage and other generally useful, but optional stuff that can be purchased with gardeons. Particular attention should be paid to items used for crafting and re-crafting equipment (especially golden weapons and armor). Buy them as soon as they become available - depending on the rank, there is a purchase limit.

For example, to buy the rare Dull Tear of Akari at rank 4, you need not only gardeons, but also crushed ghoul bones. You will receive this item for killing bosses in the Temple of the Damned instance on mortal difficulty. In addition to Akari's Dim Tear, to craft high-level items you will need Ren's Dim Star, Oro's Dim Heart, Ren's Clear Star, Ren's Flickering Star, Oro's Flickering Heart, Akari's Flickering Tear, Ren's Shining Star, Akari's Shining Tear, Oro's Shining Heart and some other items - all of them are available for purchase from Order merchants.

3. Earnings limit. In the name of balance, you can earn gardeons in limited quantities. You are given a limit for the week, which you can follow in the menu.

4. Instant movement to Asterion to the merchants of the Order. You can get to the desired location directly through the menu by clicking on the icon next to the name of the Senior Quartermaster Daon.

5. Experience scale. For completing tasks of the Order, you will receive merit points, through which this scale will be filled. When you receive a certain number of such points (500, 850 and 1000 in the screenshot), you are entitled to a good reward in currency and items.

6. Bonuses for increasing rank. In addition to intermediate gifts, leveling up in the Order promises other very generous rewards. For each rank increase, you are entitled to a substantial bonus in the form of currency, items, and access to the purchase of new rare goods.

7. Requirements for increasing rank. To advance to the next rank, you will need to fulfill a number of conditions. The requirements for promotion are always approximately the same: reach a certain character level, earn a certain number of merit points, and complete different instances several times to achieve the highest rating. After fulfilling all the conditions, you will need to talk with Guardian Tadeo and take the task for the next exam. To move to the desired NPC, just click on his name in the menu, and your character will find him himself.

8-10. Daily and weekly tasks. Actually, in order to climb the career ladder of the Guardians and fill your pockets with honestly earned goods, you need to regularly complete the tasks of the order. The essence of the tasks is simple: kill a certain number of monsters and cleanse the world of filth. The reward for the daily task (updated every 12 hours) is 100 merit points, weekly ones (one is updated every week, the other twice a month) give 200 and 300.

You will take daily quests from the NPC (Keeper Xuan) at the Kuromi Altar. In the Path of the Warrior it is called "Battle with Demons." Weekly quests consist of completing certain instances (see which ones exactly in the Order menu), or more precisely, killing local bosses.

In addition to the above-mentioned tasks, Guardian quests can be found in the Warrior's Path:

Each of them is available once a day. In addition to reputation, Challenges of the Guardians reward bronze gardeons.

Imperial (black) reputation

The player needs Imperial reputation to buy some resources from merchants. To get points, take the quest from the corresponding NPC. To find him, just call up (C key) the character characteristics window (sixth tab) and right-click on the icon - the character will automatically move to the desired NPC.

The quest taken is for mentoring. To complete the task, you need to take a player into the “party” and lead him through a dungeon (for example, with a gorilla). The student must be at least level 20, and your hero must be at least 10 levels higher than him. The quest can be taken no more than three times a week.

Points are given for helping a lower level character level up. You cannot add a “twink” to the group from your account - points are not awarded for this.

After completing the dungeon, you will receive imperial reputation points and can turn in the quest.

The points earned are spent from the same NPC on resources for crafting, enhancing equipment and sharpening.

Exorcism

From level 30, the character becomes able to level up exorcism - a very important component of the game. Exorcism points are needed to purchase PVE equipment, crafting items and some others. You receive the task for the first level of exorcism through orange quests - you need to dodge the attacks of a gorilla in the arena for a minute. The next levels of exorcism are unlocked by completing dungeons.

The exorcism leveling window is called by the key WITH- last tab.

The daily task can be completed by moving to the NPC, which is located in the middle of the “Cross”, or by pressing the key O and selecting the appropriate task. On the first tab - the daily task, on the second tab - the rest.

A second person in the “party” will be required to enter. He may not go into the dungeon with you and may even be offline. It is better to start leveling up exorcism right away, since as the character’s level increases, the levels of dungeons to complete also increase. In such conditions, it will be possible to complete some tasks only by gathering a “party” of several players.

Faction Reputation

The world is home to several different races and factions. You can establish a relationship with most of them. By showing friendship or enmity, you will receive respect or hatred, respectively.

Each faction or race has quests, completing which you will earn reputation points. You can view your current number of points by clicking C- fourth tab.

You can spend the points you receive at your local store.

PVP points

From level 40, PVP is available to the player. You can fight with 40+ players in the open world (PC), and in special PVP arenas, in castle sieges, and even server to server. PVP has its own equipment, and the better it is, the more chances you have to hold your own against other players. Such equipment is purchased for PVP points from certain merchants. Also, special NPCs' equipment can be improved. The upgrade is also made using resources purchased for PVP points.

You can queue for the arena in a special window (key H, second tab). To queue in the right tab, you need to press the left button. The queue time is displayed at the top.

View the number of accumulated PVP points - press the key C, seventh tab.

  1. Number of points received in the last week;
  2. button to increase PVP rank;
  3. current character rank;
  4. next rank;
  5. the number of accumulated PVP points;
  6. number of points received per week/weekly limit;
  7. valor rating;
  8. PVP leveling scale, for a certain number of points you can get a bonus.

Events periodically take place in the game - for completing their quests, items are given that are exchanged for useful resources.
