How does the raid pass work in Pokemon GO?

You can join any public or private raid room (you will need a room code). Thanks to the private room, you can only take part in the raid with your friends. Otherwise, you will participate in a raid with random trainers. You choose a gym, press the "Battle" button and after confirmation your pass will be redeemed.

Once you redeem the Raid Pass, you will be able to participate in this raid. On this day, you will no longer be able to participate in raids with a free pass, as you only get one per day.

F.A.Q. with a raid pass in Pokemon GO

How many raids per day can I participate in?

Players can complete multiple raids per day, but will only be able to receive one free pass per day. However, you can purchase multiple Premium Raid Passes from the store. Some coaches are unhappy with this situation, but it is not known if this system will change in the future.

Can I have a free pass and a paid pass in my inventory at the same time?

No, you can't. You can only have one pass in your inventory - it doesn't matter if it's free or paid. To buy the Premium Raid Pass, you first need to use the Free Raid Pass.

Can I use the raid pass multiple times?

No you can not. After using the Raid Pass, it disappears and the raid becomes available to you. If you don't manage to defeat the raid boss within 1 hour of starting the raid, you've basically wasted your raid pass.

Will I get the Raid Pass back if I can't beat the raid boss?

No, you won't. Once used, the pass leaves your inventory. The outcome of the battle with the raid boss is not important: you will not receive a pass back.

The article will be updated as needed. Write about your observations in the comments.

Personally, we have been mastering Pokemon Go Raid so far with varying degrees of success. The topic is certainly interesting. Although the bosses, of course, are sometimes frustrating. True, as a rule, in purely sporting terms.

We remind you that in its current form, the Pokemon Go Raid system consists of 5 levels (Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, Tier 4 and Tier 5), on each of which the player will face their own bosses. The higher the raid level, the stronger the boss. By the way, in our area they are usually divided into 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-star (the number of stars corresponds to the level of the monster).

5-star supposedly also already exists, although no one has climbed so high in Pokemon Go Raid yet. What's more, the 5-Star Bosses are exactly the same Legendary Pokémon that the public has been craving for a year now, and that Niantic has been carefully hiding from everyone.

From ordinary (and unusual) Pokemon in the gyms, raid bosses differ primarily in strength, and at levels above the third - simply STRENGTH. And if at first you can normally deal with them on your own, then the further you go, the more assistants and with stronger Pokemon you will need. Agree, dumping yourself, for example, Tyranitara from CP 34707 is pure fantasy.

Moreover, the raid battle is strictly limited to 3 minutes, during which you can only attack, you simply don’t have time to beckon, beautifully avoiding enemy attacks.

We will not talk about the rewards and other goodies that you are entitled to for each victory over the raid boss in this post. And we will tell you about which bosses sit at what levels, what their names are, how much CP each can have (Boss CP), how difficult it is to catch each (Catch CP) and, most importantly, who and who is better to attack (vulnerability) .

We compiled the list taking into account the "color differentiation of eggs", because knowing the color of the egg, you automatically imagine which raid boss can hatch from it, and you get the opportunity to properly prepare for a meeting with him (or ignore it altogether).

So, the bosses in Pokemon Go Raid:

Pink Eggs: Entry-Level Raid Bosses (Nothing Uncommon)

11/22/2017: article updated - added requirements for receiving an invitation to an EX raid

Exclusive Raids (Ex Raids)- this is one of the types in which you can participate only with an invitation to the raid. During such a raid, it will be possible to fight ultra-rare Pokémon, such as .

To participate in an exclusive raid (EX raid) you will need an invitation () which will be issued to you if you are in recent times("in the last few weeks") participated in a regular raid in a certain gym.

Exclusive Raid Invitation

Niantic voiced on this moment 2 main requirements that will increase your chances of getting an EX Raid invite:

  • Gym badge- trainers with a gym icon more high level are more likely to receive an invitation to an EX raid in this gym
  • Champion Badge- the badge is given for completed raid battles in gyms. The more raid battles you have completed, the greater the chance of getting an invitation to an Ex raid.

EX Raid Pass
EX Raid Eggs

As with normal raids, the gym will have a raid boss egg present before the raid invitations are sent out. It's not yet clear which exclusive raid bosses will be available - only Mewtwo has been confirmed.

Niantic has officially stated the following:

Mewtwo is the first Pokémon Trainers will be able to face in Exclusive Raid Battles, but other powerful Pokémon may also start hatching from Exclusive Raid Eggs over the next few weeks.

EX Raid Rewards

For winning an exclusive raid, you can get the same rewards as for winning a regular raid and approximately the same amount. However, players have reported that to catch Mewtwo, the player gets at least 50 .

The article will be updated as new information becomes available.

What is a raid?

The Raid is a team-based adventure where Trainers take on an incredibly powerful Pokémon. A few hours before the start of the raid, a raid egg appears in a random gym. At the end of the timer, a raid boss hatches from it. An hour is given to defeat him, during which you can make an unlimited number of attack attempts. Each attempt cannot exceed 170-300 seconds (depending on the difficulty of the boss). The player is rewarded for winning unique items and the ability to catch a smaller copy of the boss.
To participate in the raid, you need a special item - a raid pass, it is obtained for free once a day from scrolling through any gym or bought in a store. You cannot have more than 1 raid pass of the same type at the same time.

There are 5 raid difficulty levels. Levels 1-2 are obtained from a pink egg, 3-4 from a yellow one, level 5 from a blue one. So far, only 1-4 levels of raids are available.

Raid Tier - raid level

Raid Boss - raid boss

Boss CP - Raid Boss CP

100% CP - max raid boss CP to catch after defeating him

TOP DNS Coumters - who is better to defeat the raid boss

Tier 1 raids

Almost anyone can do it on their own.

Raids of the second level

1 average player will do. Mac is the most interesting.

Raids of the third level

Only a very strong player can do it alone. Preferably 2-3 people. Machamp is the most interesting.

Level 4 raids

4 strong players will defeat any boss of 4 difficulty levels. Regular players are advised to gather in groups of at least 6 people. The most interesting are Lapras, Snorlax and Tyranitar.

Rare Candy- can turn into 1 candy of any Pokemon. It is optimal to save up before the introduction of legendaries, because. there are no other ways to get a lot of sweets. It can also be used to get Blissie Candy or other very rare but powerful Pokémon.

Golden Razz Berry("caviar", "golden raspberry") - an increased chance of catching a pokemon (compared to its red version) or a complete restoration of the motivation of a pokemon in the gym. Optimal use - catching rare and prize Pokémon, older forms. So far, the full motivation recovery feature is relatively useless.

ChargedTM- Changes the "ult" to any other "ult" that the pokemon can have. Cannot give Legacy an attack (a legacy attack is an attack that a Pokémon could have previously evolved or caught, but now can't). Cannot give the attack that the Pokémon already had.

FastTM- Changes the fast attack to any other that the Pokémon can have. Cannot give Legacy an attack. Cannot give the attack that the Pokémon already had.

The optimal use of TM is to change the attacks of the best IV or CP Pokémon that did not receive optimal attacks during evolution. You can get a maximum of 4 TM in one battle.

Also, for the battle they give a certain number of revives.

How to get more items? The higher the raid level, the greater the ultimate reward. So it is recommended to spend raid passes only on level 4 raids. There are no exact ranges, but the number of useful items for completing a level 4 raid is on average 4 times more than for completing a level 1 raid.

After defeating the boss, the game calculates the number of Premium Orbs that will be allocated to you in order to catch the prize Pokémon. Premium balls have a catch bonus somewhere between a regular pokeball and a greatball. You cannot use any other balls while catching a prize Pokémon. Once the premium balls run out, the Pokémon will run away. If you catch a Pokémon before you run out of Premium Orbs, the excess will disappear.

Defeat Boss- 5 balls are always given for defeating the boss. If you see this window, then you have already received your 5 balls.

Damage- the more damage you dealt, the more balls you get. This way you can calculate the most useful coach.

Gym Control- members of the team that controlled the gym at the time the egg appeared in the gym receive 2 balls.

Contribution by Team- members of the team that caused the most damage in total receive an additional 3 balls.

raid passes

There are free and paid. A free raid pass can be obtained by scrolling through any Gym. You can get exactly 1 per day and only if there is no other raid pass. Thus, you can use 2 free raid passes in 1 day: first spend yesterday's raid pass, and then spin the gym and get today's one. The raid pass gives access to the entire raid for the duration of the raid. Error? Lost? Did you come out yourself? Until the raid timer runs out, you don't need to spend a new raid pass. If you fail to defeat the boss, the raid pass is not refundable. A new raid pass is given after 23:00.

There are also legendary raid passes. They will be given out to the most active fighters and they will be necessary for the battle with the legendary Pokémon.

You can lose all of your Pokémon in battle, leave the battle, recruit a new team, and return to battle with it.

If the game crashed at the end of the battle, but before the capture of the prize Pokémon, return to the gym, they will let you catch it.

The raids operate from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. local time. After 21:00 no new raids appear. Try not to delay raids until late in the evening.

Set aside "raid" days. It is optimal to raid every 2 days. You will have one free raid pass from the previous day, one raid pass for this day, and 100 coins to buy a premium pass from gyms in 2 days. This way you will be able to consistently raid without going into the red, and free up part of the days for something else.

If you repainted a gym when there was already a raid egg in it, then after defeating the boss, additional orbs for controlling the gym will not be given to you.

The slightest deviation from the server time will cause an error at the start of the raid. Often the problem is solved by simply turning off and on the "Detect network time" slider, but sometimes this is not enough. In such cases, this article will help you. Important! Ruth is needed only for automatic time correction once every N minutes. It is not needed for a one-time adjustment!

While you are waiting for the start of the raid, you can see the detailed statistics of the players that will participate in the raid with you.

Prize Pokemon have different IV and different attacks for all raid members, regardless of level / faction, etc. trainers. Of course, there may be unlikely exceptions.

You can enter a raid in the last seconds and still complete it. The raid is automatically extended (only for you!) for the duration of being in the lobby (120 seconds) and for the duration of the battle itself (60-170 seconds)
