I can't enter the test in here. World of Tanks test server. Grand Battle Improvements

It is good practice for any multiplayer add-on to do some pre-debugging with a small circle of people - super testers or the like. The World of Tanks project has taken a slightly different path - before the release of any update, it is tested for quite a long time on a separate server, which anyone can access. So today we will look at what the World of Tanks test server is and what features should be considered when playing on it.

The opening of the test server is reported a few weeks after the announcement of a particular update. After opening, anyone can download the world of tanks client (namely, the test client) and install it. Attention - the test and working clients of the game are completely independent applications and you need to install them in different folders. It will not work when downloading the test client to upload only the patch files - you need the whole game, so be prepared to provide the necessary space on the hard drive. After the test client is installed, you can run it and start testing World of Tanks for new products. What you need to know first of all - take pity on your nerves and time, do not try to enter the test server in the first few days after its opening. A place in the queue in the second ten thousand and several hours of waiting are guaranteed to you (provided that you don’t throw it at the end of the queue again). On the third or fourth day, you can already safely go in and play.

You should log in under your personal data - you do not need to create a new account. Accordingly, your nickname will also be saved in the game, only with the addition of a small prefix indicating that you are on a test server. The main "feature" of this server is that, in addition to the possibility of getting acquainted with the novelties of the game, the test server World of

Tanks gives you the opportunity to drive almost any car. At the time of the first login to your test account, they list:

100,000,000 silver;
100,000,000 free experience;
20,000 gold.

Accordingly, you decided to upgrade Soviet medium tanks, but you don’t know what to expect on top-end vehicles (the forum and VOD are a good thing, but I want to feel it myself). Go to the test server, open all the tanks you need for free experience, buy them back and calmly test one or another sample. Another situation - buying a premium tank - no one wants to lay out real money for a pig in a poke. The test server allows you to evaluate one or another premium device, after which it will be much easier to choose a car.
The second important point to take into account is that 100 million silver burns everyone’s pockets, so fully researched top configurations of vehicles go into battle on the test server, pumped up to the eyebrows with the most expensive consumables and ammunition. Everyone shoots Gold on the test server, so this should be taken into account when evaluating a particular tank model.

The next point is that most players are eager to play on top vehicles, so there may be problems finding partners for levels 5-7. The World of Tanks test server is international - you can meet representatives of all clusters from European to Asian.
After some time, the second version of the test server will be available - you can safely delete the first one and start downloading the new one. This usually happens a couple of weeks before the release of the update. If it is content-based (new tanks or maps), then usually two stages are enough, in other cases (as was the case with the introduction of physics), there is also a third stage of testing.
After the release of the official update, the test server does not close automatically, but continues to exist for about a week. The news about its closure usually appears on the portal and in the launcher of the game client.

Update 9.20.1 is approaching its official release, and we are starting a new series of public tests. Participate in testing and evaluate changes that developers have been working on recently. Here is what will be available on the public test server:

  • Rebalance of Tier X light tanks, as well as British and US vehicles.
  • Reworked personal combat missions with a new interface and mechanics that allow you to complete them faster.
  • Additional reward for high efficiency in battle - new ways to get bonds.

The changes can be found in detail in recent publications:

How to get into the general test?

Bonds and medals

Starting from 9.20.1, when winning medals in the Epic Achievements and Battle Hero categories, the player will receive additional rewards in the form of bonds. Please note: Bonds will not be credited for accumulative medals. The number of bonds is not final and may change.

Grand Battle Improvements

The following changes have been made to the General Battle battle type:

  1. The message about victory or defeat in battle has changed.
    Added a new kind of battle victory or defeat message to make it easier for players to understand when and why the battle ended. The message has separate animations for win, lose and draw. Additional text shows why the fight ended. When a battle ends with the base captured, the capture progress bar goes into a "locked" state shortly before the message appears to indicate that the total will not change.
    This innovation has been applied to all Random and Ranked Battles, as well as Grand Battles.
  2. Updated tooltips for rewards, which describe various acquisition conditions. In a standard, oncoming battle, and assault, the conditions are the same, but in a general battle, the requirements are higher.
  3. Improved combat interface (HUD) in general battle.
    The transparency of the background of the panels with the list of players has been reduced to make the information easier to read on a light background (sky, water, etc.).
    Border symbols have been added to the top bar to improve readability.

Training Ground Improvements

Changes:

  • Irrelevant options have been disabled in the context menus of the vehicle upgrade windows, the research tree, and the vehicle carousel.
  • The rewards (credits and experience) for victories and defeats while passing the training ground have been balanced.
  • The rewards for completing the training ground are now displayed in the notification center.
  • Added a notification to players that they will not receive a reward when re-passing the training ground.
  • The crew recruitment window has become more informative.

Corrections:

  • Fixed a bug where some UI elements were displayed incorrectly in color blind mode.
  • Fixed errors that occurred when saving and restoring settings (vehicle panel and sights) when the player entered the training ground and exited this mode.
  • Fixed rendering of some game tips (unmasking when shooting, the need to return to the capture circle).
  • Fixed a rare issue where the "Skip Tutorial" button was displayed incorrectly.
  • The results of battles in the mode have been removed from the notification center.
  • Fixed displaying of the EULA license window when restarting the game client.
  • The description of the characteristics of vehicles in the loading screens of the training ground is now correct.
  • Fixed a bug due to which the music tracks of the battle, the Hangar and the final cinematic of the training ground were superimposed on each other.
  • Added reward descriptions to the victory screen.
  • Fixed bugs in the behavior of bots.
  • Fixed bugs in displaying map borders.

Updated (17-01-2020, 11:10): test 1.7.1

The test server in the game World of Tanks 1.7.1 is a regular server where new maps, features, tanks and other innovations of the game are tested. It is impossible to get to the WOT test server when the player wants it - it opens only at a certain time when the game developers will need it.

What's new on test 1.7.1?

Double-barreled tanks IS-2-II (Tier VIII) IS-3-II (Tier IX) ST-II (Tier X).

IS-2-II

IS-3-II

ST-II

What the new branch of double-barreled tanks looks like:

As you can see, a new branch starts after KB-3 (VIII) level.

The crews of all three double-barreled tanks will consist of 5 people:

  • commander (radio operator);
  • gunner;
  • driver mechanic;
  • two loaders.
The most important thing is the ability to conduct several shooting modes.
  • Cyclic (standard): firing with one gun, which is reloaded after each shot;
  • Consistent: alternate firing from both guns;
  • Volley: simultaneous firing from two guns.

TTX of new double-barreled tanks (not final)

What is a test server and why is it needed?

Test server is a repository where a copy is stored and reproduced, but with some changes. Of course, before making any changes to the game, they must first be tested.
The first ones see the changes in the staff of WOT developers, then they give access to super-testers. If there are shortcomings, then they are corrected and the version of the new client is tested already under load. They “upload” the test version of the client to the backup server and open access for everyone. Again, the development staff is looking for errors and shortcomings. After - fix and "roll out" a new version of the client.

How to get to the WOT test server

To get to the test server, you need to download a special installer 1.7.1 or install Wargaming Game Center. After that run it. He will offer to download a test client - download it and install it. Next folder will be created. World_of_Tanks_CT(in the directory where the player specified during installation).

Everything is ready to launch! We click on the label of the test client and get to the authorization page and enter the game. We go under our nickname and password, and select one of the two test servers.

Test features. Servers

  • Each player is credited with 20,000 gold, 100,000,000 free experience, 100,000,000 silver at a time.
  • Everything that you earn and buy on the test server will never be transferred to the main one.

When it is time to run a public test, an appropriate announcement will be published on the World of Tanks website. Shortly after, the developers will release a test version of the client. This can be downloaded by following . Make sure that you follow all of the instructions carefully, so that you don't accidentally cause problems to your main play account.

Your test client account will usually be a copy of your play account, meaning that all the vehicles purchased and the research that you have completed will be the same. However, please note:

  • The test account is completely separate from your normal account. Achievements and research that you complete on the test client will not be carried over to your play account.
  • Financial transactions are not possible on the test server and payments will not be accepted.
  • Depending on the needs of the test, your test account may be credited with gold, credits and/or experience.

The test server is subject to the same EULA and general rules as the World of Tanks game server. This means that you still need to play nice or you will face the usual consequences in the same way as you would on the official game server.

All test accounts will receive a one-time credit of:

  • 100,000,000
  • 100,000,000
  • 20,000

The rate at which you gain credits and experience will not be increased for the test unless stated otherwise in the appropriate announcement.

Feedback

Once you have logged into the test client, you are free to play as much or as little as you want. We encourage you to try out all the new features and see what you can do!

Once you have been playing for a while, please let us know your feedback by posting in the dedicated forum threads. These threads are divided into two categories: bug reports and general feedback about the test version . The appropriate links will be provided in the respective announcement. The community managers will collect up all your responses on the thread and send them to the developers.

The sort of feedback we are particularly interested in includes:

  • Any bugs or glitches that you have found in the game. Got stuck in the scenery? Game crashes when you do a certain action? Tell us all about it!
  • Honest feedback about vehicles and game mechanics. If you think something doesn't function well, then please tell us.
  • Anything you particularly like? Do you love the new stats for a previously underpowered vehicle? Confirm to the developers that the community is now satisfied with that feature, letting them focus on other new improvements.

How to Join the Public Test

In order to join a test, please follow these instructions:

  1. Download the test client installer (the link will be provided in the announcement)
  2. Make sure you pick a save location that is different to your regular World of Tanks game files. Save and run the installer.
  3. Run the new copy of the game. The launcher will download all the additional data (the amount of data may vary).
  4. Log in and start playing. Remember to post your feedback in the appropriate forum threads.

Please be aware of the following:

In order to make the test experience more efficient, it may be necessary to limit the number of players on the test server. If the server is full when you log in, you'll be placed into a queue.

The test server will be restarted regularly, according to the following schedule:

  • First Periphery: every EVEN day of the month. Average duration will be around 25 minutes.
  • Second Periphery: every ODD day of the month. Average duration will be around 25 minutes.
  • Central Database: every day. Average duration will be around 2 or 3 minutes.

The test server may be subject to unscheduled restarts and maintenance.

IMPORTANT: Please remember that it is a test server. This means that you may encounter bugs and temporary features. Everything in the test version could change before the final release.

Servers for the World of Tanks 1.6 game update test are dedicated servers where the playability of maps, vehicle characteristics, and general updates by ordinary wot players are checked. The test server is available only at a certain time, entry is possible only when the developers are ready when checking the performance of game innovations.

Release date - updates 1.5

Download World of Tanks 1.6.1 general test

As soon as the link to download the test client 1.6 appears, it will be published right here! Tentatively, we should expect in the late afternoon after 18:00 Moscow time. The 1.6 client release date should be expected by October 2019, as indicated in the table below.

How it works?

Consider what a test server is. In principle, this is a virtual resource where a modified copy of the game is located. The main purpose is to test and verify the capabilities of any innovations before including them in the main patch.
WG developers get access to test domains first. Then super-testers are connected to search for shortcomings and bugs. After the fix, additional testing is carried out with the maximum load of the game client.

To do this, a copy of the game is "uploaded" to the backup domain, where anyone can get. After that, the detected flaws are again eliminated, after which changes are made to the main game client.

How to become a member of the WoT test?

Anyone can take part in testing the game. To do this, you need to download the installer with version 1.6 After that, the installer will prompt the user to download a test game client. After the download is complete, a new WORLD of TANKS folder is created on the desktop, with a directory of graphics settings specified by the player.

Key Features

There are two main rules for test takers:

  1. Participants receive: 20,000 in-game gold, 100,000,000 credits each and free experience.
  2. Experience earned on the test server, game currency and purchased equipment are not transferred to the main client.

Test goal for patch 1.6.1

Players will have to test the following innovations:

  • Changes for the LBZ tank: Object 279 early;
  • Converted to HD 3 maps:
    Empire's Border
    widepark,
    Highway
  • Changes and edits on the maps: Ruinberg, Overlord, Redshire, Sandy River and Paris;
