Meanwhile, the official

The first two parts of the Polish Sniper series Ghost Warrior were pretty good games (especially the second part) and, as time has shown, this was enough for the developers to think about the third part of their franchise about sniper adventures.

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, unlike its older brothers, is an open world game and players have the opportunity to explore the virtual space. However, it is precisely this innovation in the form open world and it became for the game, although not fatal, but a rather big minus, if we start from rather weak reviews from users and critics. But, if you are an open world fan, then you should like it.

From a technical point of view, Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 has obvious problems. For example, in open areas of the map, you will experience a serious drop in frame rate, which, in fact, is quite understandable - more details on the screen. Also, users have a lot of complaints about the interface in the game or about the viewing angle.

The biggest problem with Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is the game's load time. If you have launched it, you already know that it will take you FIVE MINUTES to enter the game world. One way or another, we will try to consider all these problems and even more in this article.

Well, this question is quite interesting. As was recently pointed out by the developers themselves, CI Games (formerly City Interactive), a five-minute download is not a bug, not a flaw in the game code, but a feature. Such long downloads allow you to fully load the game world, so that later it does not need to be loaded again. Also they said that due to this long loading at the beginning you will only need to wait 15-30 seconds during fast travel and downloads control points. In general, there is currently no way to fix this and you just have to put up with a five-minute download.

Button remapping issue in Sniper Ghost Warrior 3

Do not be afraid, as you can perform key remapping in Sniper Ghost Warrior 3. The problem is a little different. The game has buttons that are responsible for performing several actions. Accordingly, when they are reassigned, problems begin. Unfortunately, in this situation, there is nothing you can do, but it seems that the developers are aware of this problem and will fix it soon. You can only wait for the patch for Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 and hope that CI Games will keep their promise.

Slow performance in Sniper Ghost Warrior 3

If you are experiencing performance problems in Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, then you can only be advised to update the drivers for your video card. If you have already done this and you still have poor performance, then you are forced to disappoint, as even the owners of video cards such as the GTX 970 or higher are faced with low FPS. Unfortunately, as with the previous tips, you will have to wait for the patch.

How to change FOV in Sniper Ghost Warrior 3

Why there is no FOV slider in Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 on PC is unclear. Fortunately, the viewing angle can still be changed and, as is already customary in PC gaming, this is done through a specific configuration file. Go to directory \Sniper Ghost Warrior 3\GameSDK\ and find the file named game.cfg. Open it and find the lines in it that contain FOV. Change them to your liking (for example, 90 or 100) and save the changes. Now, when you log into Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, your field of view will be the same as you set it in the configuration file.

The first attempt to bring the sniper series from Polish developers to AAA status ended not very well: the game came out raw and buggy. But PC gamers are not the first to solve technical problems on their own. Or with our guide.

Interestingly, the guys from CI Games chose a high-quality technical basis, armed with the latest version of the CryEngine engine. This is not at all a “self-written” monster, which, out of desperation, is used for low-budget projects.

Even the creation of the best Crytek programmers did not save Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 from a mediocre technical implementation, but before nodding at the developers, it's worth understanding: is the computer ready to run?

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 System Requirements

Minimum system requirements ( [email protected]):

  • OS: Windows 7/8/8.1/10 (x64 only);
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-3240 3.4GHz or AMD FX-6350 3.9GHz;
  • RAM: 8 GB;
  • video card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 with 2GB VRAM or AMD Radeon HD 7850 with 2GB VRAM
  • HDD: 50 GB;
  • DirectX Version: 11;
  • Sound card
  • Internet connection: 512 kbps.
  • OS: Windows 7/8/8.1/10 (x64 only);
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-4790 3.6 GHz or AMD FX-8350 Wraith 4.0 GHz;
  • RAM: 16 GB;
  • video card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 with 3GB VRAM or AMD Radeon RX 480 with 4GB VRAM
  • HDD: 50 GB;
  • DirectX Version: 11;
  • Sound card: compatible with DirectX 9.0c or higher;
  • Internet connection: 512 kbps.
Of course, the recommended configuration inspires respect: not every gamer has an i7 processor and a tenth-generation Nvidia card in their system.

But in fact, it makes little sense to update in order to pass the “technical qualification”, because Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 manages to shamelessly slow down on almost any computer. This is true both for the release version and for patch 1.0.1, which became available at the time of this writing.

Files, drivers and libraries

As is the case with other major releases, the release of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 was accompanied by special drivers from the largest video adapter manufacturers - Nvidia and AMD. By installing them, you can be sure that the game uses all the technical capabilities of the video card without exception, and does it in the most efficient way:

A prerequisite for the successful functioning of any game is the availability of the latest drivers for all devices in the system. Download the utility Driver Updater to download quickly and easily latest versions drivers and install them with one click:

  • download Driver Updater and run the program;
  • scan the system (usually it takes no more than five minutes);
  • update outdated drivers with one click.
Next, you need to install additional software, which is often bundled with the game, but is no less often ignored by hurried gamers. Yes, it's DirectX, . NET Framework and Visual C++ extension libraries: A separate list of "Pros" so as not to get confused in a pile of links:
  • (Download )
  • (Download )
  • (Download )
  • (Download )
This completes the preparation of the computer to launch Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3. This is definitely enough to run the game. But if you also need to play it, then you may need help with solving its own technical problems. Fortunately, almost all of them are reflected further in the text.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 won't start. Solution

For an inexplicable reason, the game from CI Games does not accept overlays in any form, in any case, this problem often arose before the release of the first patch, which, by the way, did not fix it at all, according to the official list of changes.

Overlays are a display additional information through third party programs. For example, Fraps uses an overlay to display the frame rate counter.

The Steam service that released Sniper: Ghost Warrior also uses an overlay by default so that the user can get quick access to the community and additional settings.

To disable the Steam overlay in the game, you need to open the game library, find Sniper: Ghost Warrior in it, click right click on the name of the game, in the context menu, select the last option - "Properties", then uncheck the option "Enable Steam overlay in the game."

If other programs with overlays are used, such as MSI Afterburner, Fraps mentioned above, Nvidia Share and others, then they will also have to be disabled.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 has very long download times. Solution

One of the most annoying problems in the CI Games project is the extremely high load time. When entering the game, you have to wait 5-7 minutes.

This is due to the fact that the game immediately loads almost the entire game card. This approach has the advantage of fast travel without additional downloads, but for the most part, the players did not appreciate the "efforts" of the developers.

Those already understood this themselves, and promised to fix the problem in one of the next patches. But how can you reduce download time yourself? There is one sure way: install the game on an SSD drive. The speed of working with it is an order of magnitude higher, so the game will load about twice as fast on it.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 slows down. Solution

As already noted in the section system requirements, the game from CI Games crashes FPS on almost any hardware, so this problem is universal. At the same time, it cannot be completely corrected, you can only make these falls less sharp and frequent.

First, it's worth turning off motion blur, because it suddenly consumes more resources than anti-aliasing. But there is no such option in the game menu, so you have to go into the configuration file. It's called game.cfg, and you can find it in the distribution kit with the game, namely in the GameSDK folder.

In addition to motion blur, it is also worth turning off other resource-intensive "pretty things" - chromatic aberration, depth of field, particle blur and HDR lighting. As a result, the corresponding lines should look like this:

r_ChromaticAberration=0r_DepthOfField=0r_Motionblur=0e_ParticlesMotionblur=0r_HDRGrainAmount=0

By the way, in the same game.cfg file, you can set your preferred viewing angle (FOV). It's just worth remembering that the larger it is, the lower the performance, since the game needs to load more objects that are in the player's field of view.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is not saved. Solution

Cloud saves through the Steam Cloud have long become commonplace for most players, and therefore the fact that Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 completely refuses to work with such “saves” turned out to be quite unpleasant.

But there is no technical error here: CI Games simply did not add Steam Cloud support to their game. This means that the saves are tied to the computer and they can only be transferred manually by first finding them in the appropriate folder and copying them to another PC.

The developers are still not going to leave everything as it is, and, answering questions from users, they mentioned that they would add support for cloud saves. But then. May be. Maybe.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 crashes in the Two Birds mission. Solution

In terms of crashes, the project turned out to be quite stable, but it was still not possible to completely avoid “crashes”: many players write online that Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 often crashes during the passage of the Two Birds mission.

Unfortunately, it will not be possible to solve this problem on your own: the crash is tied to the execution of in-game scripts, and it is not possible to fix it without a total opening of resources. All hope for CI Games.

Button remapping does not work in Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3. Solution

Yes, almost all people now play on the WASD layout, and all developers use it by default when setting default values. But someone is so uncomfortable, and then button reassignment comes to the rescue - one of the most important features of a PC.

But Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 shows itself not in the best way here either: after reassigning some functions that are used to perform different actions, they become unavailable or work every other time.

There is only one solution: play on the default layout.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 gives an error about a missing DLL file. Solution

As a rule, problems associated with the absence of DLLs occur when the game is launched, however, sometimes the game can access certain DLLs in the process and, without finding them, crash in the most impudent manner.

To fix this error, you need to find the required DLL and install it on the system. The easiest way to do this is with a program that scans the system and helps you quickly find the missing libraries.

If your problem turned out to be more specific, or if the method described in this article did not help, then you can ask other users in our "" section. They will promptly help you!

We thank you for your attention!

In search of a mechanic for the third part, CI Games shoveled the entire genre of stealth action.

And CI Games didn't stop there. It's hard to believe, but literally every radio in Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 rushes real Russian rap. At a sawmill, at a wedding, at a military facility - it doesn't matter. When the wind for the first time brings to the hero's ears a recitation about fate, enemies, family, love and grandmothers (the texts are very diverse, from criminal to philosophical), you experience a slight cultural shock. It's funny, of course, that the developers so categorically defined the musical tastes of the entire Georgian people, but it still makes the world more alive - like the phrases of enemies, such as "Search the perimeter!" with a pronounced Russian accent.

As for the multiplayer, it is not in the release version. And it will not be at least until the third quarter of 2017: according to the developers, they decided to first "let the players enjoy the single player campaign." Gradually, it should acquire DLC (maybe at least they will fill the sandbox with tasks?), And multiplayer, free for all owners of the game, is apparently intended to be the icing on the cake. It remains only to wish good luck to CI Games and hope that by then the players will not forget about the existence of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3.
