"Fortified areas" - a game mode for clan players. It is available in the game client and has nothing to do with battles and campaigns on the Global Map. Stronghold is the property of the clan, which consists of the command center, directions leading to it, and additional buildings. The stronghold can be created by the clan commander for free, if desired.

It is wrong to assume that new mode similar to an ordinary browser strategy. All features of the mode are free, and resources are obtained exclusively on the fields of tank battles.

Battles in the Strongholds mode

The Fortified Area Guide says that in order to develop a Stronghold and receive bonuses (reserves), an industrial resource is required, which is earned by sorties.

A sortie is a company battle, with teams selected randomly from among those in this moment went on a trip. Any player can create a company to participate in a sortie, but before going into battle, you need to study the Stronghold guide and decide on the type of sortie: the maximum level of available vehicles depends on this. There are three types of attacks in the game:

  1. Medium 7 by 7 (levels 1-6).

In the current version of the game, the reserve of the Office of Special Instructions is also available for activation: a special combat mission is activated for all members of the clan. Recently, we were lucky together with the Wargaming company and the well-known in the World of Tanks by clan ACES will discuss the details of the new game mode - Strongholds - and evaluate it in an exemplary clan game. As such, new information there was little about the regime: during its existence it had already been studied in detail WoT clans. On the other hand, the material will be of interest to those who would like to learn first-hand about what fortified areas are in general and why get involved with them.

The Wargaming company, according to Dmitry Grigorov, who supervised our event, seeks to "pull" the players out of the random house and transfer them to collective game. The idea is very correct, because once having experienced a slender, as in chess game, tactics in clan battles, only a few will want to return to the “sand”. From the side of ACES, our guide was captain Evgeny "Classic" Demyanenko, who then with his team clearly demonstrated what a real well-coordinated game is like.

The functionality of the fortified areas is built right into the client and is most like a browser game - in a good way, of course. The interface is clear and intuitive, and it takes hardly five minutes to comprehend all the intricacies of the mode. The whole point comes down to arranging the base: you start building buildings that bring certain bonuses, upgrade them due to a good (if possible) level of the game and open up new directions, of which there are up to four. You can build buildings and improve them using industrial resources - a special currency that was introduced specifically for the fortified areas regime. For example, "Tankodrome", depending on the level of the building, brings from 2% to 50% to combat experience. Any player of the clan can choose to link any existing building to which the industrial resource earned in battles will go.

But the nice interface and flexible functionality of the mode are just a cover for the main activity, for the sake of which everything was started. It's about clan battles. If you are still riding in the "random" and do not even think about a clan career, then it will be very difficult for you to understand what the battles of experienced teams are like.

Unlike the global map, there is no fog of war. In other words, an experienced team will immediately determine from the opponent’s setup what tactics the enemies are most likely to choose. This is exactly what the ACES team demonstrated to us: counter rushes through a different direction, accurate attacks and a coherence of actions that hardly fit in our heads. Probably, it is for the sake of such beautiful and high-quality performances that players should strive from the “sand” to a collective game.

The so-called sorties allow clans to fight in neutral territories for industrial resources. The winner gets most of the money, the loser gets a consolation prize. But the ability to attack and plunder other people's fortified areas brings a much more pleasant variety to the game. Destroying the enemy base "to zero" will not work: this is due to the policy of Wargaming, which would not want such negative consequences of clan games. Enemy buildings can be partially destroyed, and when their durability drops below 20%, they simply cease to function until they are repaired. In fortified areas, battles are fought sequentially in specific directions for each building. Of course, in the event of a successful sortie, you can loot a decent amount of industrial resource for its subsequent use for your own purposes.

Now you are probably desperately tormented by the question: why do we need fortified areas if there is a global map? The fact is that fortified areas are a game of a lower rank. The entry threshold is much lower here (starting from the sixth level of technology), there are gameplay simplifications, such as the absence of the fog of war - and the rewards, respectively, are less significant.

Labor costs are also lower: not everyone is able to really “farm” on the global map, and in fortified areas you just need to recruit a small group of friends and call for battles if there are not enough people, legionnaire mercenaries. Of course, there will be less of the notorious "gold" from the fortified areas, but the well-known difficulties of the global map can be avoided. So, you don’t have to guard your fortified area 24 hours a day in case of an attack by enemy clans: specifically for this, you can select defense hours in the mode during which your clan will be able to defend, and the fortified area will be open for attack. Accordingly, the more hours of defense you allocate, the more hours of attack you will have to plunder other people's fortified areas.

It must be admitted that for all its simplicity, the new regime turned out to be extremely curious. Here, there is also a significantly higher quality of battles, when not teams recruited from random players meet, but more or less played clans. And tangible rewards that are truly worth fighting for. And, of course, the lack of high complexity of the global map. Fortified areas will be of interest both to newcomers to clan wars, who have long wanted to test themselves in a game of a higher rank compared to random, and to veterans of the Civil Code, who are provided with a full-fledged constructor for development. Plus, fortified areas allow all members of the clan to take part in the games of the mode, and not just selected fighters who defend the honor of the team in the main battleground, which is also a tangible advantage.

Of course, the decision whether to enter the level of the clan game is up to you, but with fortified areas it has become much easier to study this part of World of Tanks and join it. Good luck in battles!

Stronghold is a game mode in which clans build structures and prepare clan reserves in them. Clans use prepared reserves to increase the earnings of their players in battles.

The clan receives a Fortified area at its disposal immediately after creation. Therefore, it does not matter how many players your clan has and how many battles you have fought — you can develop a powerful Stronghold and receive bonuses from reserves from the first day of the clan's existence.

To go to your Stronghold:

  1. Go to the CLAN tab in the Garage. The Clan Screen will be displayed.

What is the fortified area for?

Preparing clan reserves is the main goal of clans in the Stronghold. Clan reserves are divided into two groups: long-term reserves and reserves for battle.

Long-term reserves allow all players of the clan, except for Reservists, to earn more credits and experience in battles.

The building level is an important indicator of the Fortified area development, which determines the level of the prepared reserve. The higher the reserve level, the more bonuses it brings. To prepare reserves of high levels, it is necessary to upgrade buildings - that is, to increase their level.

In Sorties and Advances, you can also earn credits and experience.

A sortie is a Standard battle against a randomly selected unit. The goal of the Sortie is to win the battle in order to earn as much Industrial Resource as possible (for more details, see below).sorties ).

Offensive is a series of battles for the borders and the Citadel of the enemy.

The main goal of the Offensive is to capture the Citadel. If the Citadel is not captured, the clan with the most lines under control wins.

How to earn gold in Stronghold

You can earn gold by participating in War Games.

The War Games is a tournament in the Stronghold, prize fund which consists of gold and clan reserves the highest levels, XI and XII. You can try your hand at War Games every Saturday.

In the War Games, clans earn points for certain achievements, for example, for each enemy vehicle destroyed. How to develop the Stronghold?

First of all, you need to understand what the Stronghold consists of, and these are:

  • command center- the main building, the level of which determines the level of the Stronghold as a whole. The level makes it possible to build certain buildings, the volume of warehouses and the time and amount of the transported resource necessary for the development of the base;
  • Industrial resource- the main resource of the Strongholds. It is earned in battles to upgrade the base and create bonuses;
  • Directions- ways of development of the Fortified area. Determined by the decision of the Clan Commander based on the calculation 1 referral per 20 clan members, that is, if you want to develop several areas, you need to increase the number of the clan. The directions also serve for military operations against other clans;
  • Place to build- a free place on which you can build buildings. Each chosen direction gives two free places for construction;
  • buildings- the very buildings that need to be erected on free places certain directions for the acquisition of the corresponding bonuses. The amount of the bonus will depend on the level of the building, which is raised for Resources. Buildings have durability and storage to store resources.

Battles in the Strongholds

Each player in the clan forms a Garrison. One Garrison = 20 players. The player has the right to change his garrison.

There are 3 types of fights:

  1. sortie;
  2. Attack on an enemy Stronghold;
  3. Defense of your Fortified area.

In all battles, players win an Industrial resource, which is calculated from the experience earned per battle. The resource is stored in the building to which it belongs.

How better players fight, the faster their Stronghold develops.

Sortie deserves special attention - a 15 vs 15 battle among randomly selected teams going on a sortie. Before you go on a sortie, you must select its type:

  • Medium (1-6 levels);
  • Champion (1-8 levels);
  • Absolute (1-10 levels).

Sortie battles take place according to the rules of Company Battle, based on which the Industrial Resource earned by each player is calculated.
