Card game "Old Maid" (Old Man). How to Play the Old Maid Card Game Old Maid Card Game Rules

Inventory
You will need a regular deck of fifty-two cards without one queen. As a result, a pair of ladies of the same color and one lady, she is the “old maid”, of another color will remain in the deck.

Purpose of the game
All players try to get rid of their cards.
The entire deck is dealt one at a time face down, not necessarily evenly.

The game
Players sort their cards without showing them to their neighbors. Those who have paired cards in their hand lay them face up. (A pair is two cards of the same rank.) If there are three cards of the same rank in hand, then two of them are laid out, and the third is left. If there are four cards of the same rank in hand, then both pairs are laid out at once. The one sitting to the left of the dealer unfolds his cards in his hand like a fan and, without showing them, invites the neighbor on the left to draw one of them. If he draws a card paired with one of his own, he places the pair face up. If he does not have a paired card, he keeps it for himself, after which, in turn, he unfolds his cards in a fan and invites the player on the left to choose one. The game continues in a circle until there are pairs of all cards, except for one - the "old maid", which does not have a pair. Whoever stays with this card gets the title of "old maid" and loses the game.

Options
There is a variant of the game called "The Old Bachelor", which is played by the jack of spades. The remaining three jacks are removed from the deck.

There is a variant of the game when cards of the same value and the same color are considered a pair, for example, a pair of red aces or a pair of black tens.

"Old Maid" is a classic card game which is played all over the world. . In Germany she is known as "Black Peter" and in France as "The Old Bachelor". To start playing with friends and family, read the game rules.

Steps

1 Preparing maps

  1. 1 Start with at least three and no more than six players. For this number of players, only one deck of cards is needed.
    • If there are more players, use two decks, but make sure the decks are identical.
  2. 2 Take a standard deck of 52 cards and draw three queens from it. The remaining lady will denote the "old maid".
    • The goal of the game is not to be left with an "old maid" in hand at the end of the game when no one else has any cards left.
  3. 3 Choose the player who will deal the cards. This player shuffles the cards and distributes them to the players, keeping the number of cards as equal as possible among the players.
    • Some players may have one more card than others. This is fine.

2 Game progress

  1. 1 Lay all the paired cards you have on the table.
    • The pairs must be shown face up on the table so that everyone can see the pairs you have.
    • If you have three matching cards, you can only play two cards in a pair and keep the third.
  2. 2 The player who dealt shows his cards face down to the player to his left.
    • The player to the left of the dealer must choose one of the cards and take it for himself.
    • If a card pairs with one of that player's cards, he must place that pair on the table.
  3. 3 Next player's turn. The player who has just drawn a card shows his cards face down to the player to his left. The player on the left must choose any card, take it for himself and put a pair on the table if it has formed. This procedure continues clockwise.
  4. 4 This continues until all the pairs are laid out on the table, and until someone has only the "old maid" left.
    • Eventually, all pairs will be laid out on the table and the players will be left with no cards.
    • Once someone has only one "old maid" left, it's game over.
  5. 5 The player left with the "old maid" is declared the loser.
  • Change the rules however you like. For example, in the English variation of the game "mean lady", the losing player draws any card from the deck at the end of the game, and, according to the digital equivalent of this card, this player must skip the card deck over his tiles in his hand so many times.
  • If you are playing with kids who like a cartoon character, many shops sell special "old maid" cards with cartoon characters painted on them instead of jacks, kings, etc.
  • This is a good card game for kids as the rules are simple and easy to remember.
  • Use alternative maps and "nicknames" for this game. For example, you can use jacks or kings as a key card instead of queens.
  • You can also play the reverse version of the game. In this version, the person who stays with the "old maid" is declared the winner.

Rules of the game. Any lady is removed from the deck. A lady who is left alone in red or black is called an "old maid". The first dealer in the game is determined by lot, in the following games the players deal cards in turn. The deck is carefully shuffled, removed and all cards are dealt equally among all players. Each player sorts his cards by showing his cards to other players. Pairs of cards of the same value are discarded. The first move belongs to the player to the left of the dealer. The player invites his neighbor on the left to draw one of his cards. If this card from a neighbor makes a pair of cards of the same value with his cards, then this pair is discarded. Next, the neighbor invites the next player to draw a card from him in a clockwise direction. Thus, the game continues in a circle until one of the players has no cards left. old man

The game is played according to the rules of the Old Maid, with a few exceptions. All jacks are removed from the deck, except for the jack of spades. Pairs of cards that have the same value and the same color are discarded.

Old Maid is a simple card game that is very popular with children. Otherwise, this game is called "Pass the lady."

Players.
The game is designed for three or more participants.

Cards.
One of the queens is removed from the standard deck in order to
there was an unpaired lady - the "old maid".

Change.
One player deals all cards blindly to the players, one per round. It doesn't matter if someone has one more card than the other players.

The purpose of the game.
Each player tries to get rid of all his cards by discarding pairs of the same value. The loser is the player who remains at the end of the game with the "old maid". There are no winners in this game.

Rules of the game.
Each player looks at his cards, carefully hiding them from the rest of the participants.

If he has any pairs - two identical pictures or two cards of the same numerical value, for example, two 9s or two kings - he lays them face down on the table.

A player with three cards of the same rank can play only two of them and must keep the third, but a player with four cards of the same rank can play all four as two pairs. The player to the left of the dealer spreads his cards like a fan, holding them face to face, and invites the player to the left to take one of them.

If a new card has paired with any of his cards, he places the pair face down on the table. If not, the player joins new map to your schedule. Then he fanned out his cards and offered them to the player on the left.

The game continues in this manner until all but the Old Maid have been dealt. The owner of the "old maid" becomes the loser, and before the start of a new game, the other players call him "old maid".

Possible variant.
To make the game last longer, you can allow the discarding of not only equal in value, but also cards of the same color, for example, two red 7s or two black aces.
