Classic Five Card Poker. Analysis of the rules and nuances of the game. Poker Rules. Best Collectible Card Games American Card Game

Hello friends!

We continue to get acquainted with the most popular games on the planet! Today we will talk about such a popular game as classic poker. It is also called a five-card. But first, let's dive into the history...

A bit of history

For almost a millennium, poker has been modernized and improved until it has become a modern game. There is a version that the game originated in the X century in China, during the reign of the Sung Dynasty.

Some claim that the game is derived from the 16th century Persian game As nas. There are many versions and they are all true.

But the essence is the same - a wonderful game has appeared, which in America is considered almost a national game. At the beginning of the 19th century, poker and its varieties spread widely throughout the Wild West and became one of its symbols.

Contributed to the spread of poker and the civil war in the United States. In the soldiers' barracks, the game of poker was widespread! The term “Poker” itself also appears shortly before these events in the 19th century.

Local residents and regulars of the saloons of that time loved to relax drinking whiskey, gin, rum and playing poker. And the names of the game were given accordingly. So there were "Remic-gin", "Gin-rummy". The very term "Remic" refers to a game based on a set of card combinations.

Poker rules

“So how is poker played?” you ask.

Good question! I will gladly answer it.

Five-card poker is played with a deck of 54 cards with jokers.

Some people remove wilds, but I consider them the highlight of poker and therefore always leave them. Joker at the request of the player can be assigned to any card. The number of players can be from two to ten people.

The main thing is that during the buy-in there are enough cards for everyone! Five cards are dealt per person. A person looks at the cards and thinks what combination of cards he can collect. And the combinations in poker are as follows:

Poker combinations by seniority

  1. There is no combination. In this case, the player determines the highest card.
  2. Two - Two cards of the same value (For example, two sixes, two queens, two threes, etc.)
  3. Two + two - two pairs of cards of the same value (For example: two threes + two sevens)
  4. Three of a kind - three cards of the same value (For example: three eights, three jacks)
  5. Straight - increasing cards in order of different suits (For example: 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 different suits)
  6. Flash - set different cards of the same suit (For example: 2+5+8+K+B spades)
  7. Full house ( full house) - two cards of the same value and three cards of another value (For example: three Kings + two sevens)
  8. Four of a kind - four cards of the same value (For example: four jacks, four fives)
  9. Straight Flush - increasing cards in order of the same suit (For example: 9 + 10 + B + D + K of hearts)
  10. Poker - four cards of the same value and a joker (For example: four aces + Joker)
  11. If they play without jokers, then the highest combination will not be Poker, but Royal Flush. Royal Flush - increasing cards in order of the same suit, starting from 10 (For example, 10+W+D+K+T of diamonds)

Game process

First, the players wager a pre-agreed amount of money, look at their cards. Players have the right to discard any number of cards they do not need and take the same amount from the draw in return.

If the player gets any combination, he participates in the auction. Of course, you can play without combinations at all, bluffing, so to speak. Each player has the right to bet or fold by saying "Pass".

All players have the right to bet in three rounds. After changing the cards, a three-round game follows again. If none of the players raised the stakes during the first round, then the cards are revealed.

But if the stakes have increased during this time, then the cards can be opened only after three rounds of the game.

The last bet according to the rules must be no less than the previous one. Players take turns adding money to the pot and saying "Next". The added amount can increase, that is, you can add more money in excess of the minimum set.

Weekdays in the saloon.

And then the next player must put the minimum + added by the previous player, and, if desired, can also throw it on top. When playing classic poker, the auction ends when the last player from the circle adds the required amount and demands to reveal the cards.

If at the showdown it is found that the players have the same combinations, then they are judged by the highest card from the remaining ones. The combinations themselves are evaluated in the same way according to the highest. For example, Two Jacks is older than two sevens. Such a meaning.

Two kings lose to three deuces, three deuces lose to three jacks. Well, you understand!

By the way, a wonderful sight is the unshakable faith of a Christian who has four aces in his hands! Watch if you get the chance. Well, that seems to have written everything, now you know how to play classic poker.

I advise: ,

Learn to play classic poker, friends!

Fool american

Number of decks: 1
Number of cards in a deck: 36 or 52
Number of players: 2 - 6
Card seniority: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, V, D, K, T.
Purpose of the game: get rid of all your cards.
Rules of the game. The rules for playing the American fool were sent to me by Ivan Lukyanov. The first dealer is determined by lot, in the next game the player who lost in the previous game deals cards. The deck is carefully shuffled, it is not necessary to remove, and each player is dealt 6 cards. The remaining deck is placed in the center of the table. The top card from the deck is removed, opened and placed under the deck. This card determines the trump suit in the game. In the first game, the player who has the lowest trump goes first, if there is no trump card, then either by lot or determined by the lowest card; in the following games, there are 2 options for the first move: under the fool, that is, the player who sits to the right of the fool goes first; from under the fool, the player who sits to the left of the fool goes first. The corresponding first move option is chosen by the players before the game. The first player can make the first move with any of his cards. The player moves a card to the player to their left, and that player must recapture that card. In order to beat off, it is necessary to put a card of the highest value of the same suit. If the card to be beaten off is not a trump card, then you can beat it off with a trump card. If this card is a trump card, then, accordingly, you can beat it off with a trump card of a higher value. When a player beat off this card, then other players can throw up cards of the same value that are on the table. If the player who fights back beats all the cards laid out, then he has the right to throw himself up, and then beat him off. After that, the other players can continue to toss cards of the same value that are on the table. The right to throw first belongs to the player who made the first move, then the right to throw passes to other players in a clockwise direction. Let's imagine the situation: two people play, the trump card of the heart, the 1st player has 6 diamonds, 8 diamonds, 10 spades, the queen of diamonds, 9 hearts and the queen of hearts, the 2nd player has 6 spades, 7 diamonds, ace of diamonds, ace of spades, 8 hearts and 10 hearts. The 1st player goes to the 2nd player 6 diamonds, the 2nd player beats 7 diamonds. Then the 1st player says that he has nothing to throw up, and the 2nd player lays out 6 spades from his cards and beats with the ace of spades. Further, he lays out an ace of diamonds (that is, you can also throw up those cards that the 2nd player himself fought with) and interrupts his 8 hearts. The 2nd player declares that he himself has no cards to throw to himself, and then the 1st player throws 8 diamonds, and the 2nd player already fights off with his last card - 10 hearts. When all players, including the battling one, have no cards left to toss, or they do not want to discard their cards, all laid out cards go to the discard. Cards that go to waste are put aside in a closed pile and do not take part in the game. If the player who fights back does not beat off the laid out cards, then he takes the cards for himself. After that, all players who have less than six cards get cards from the deck to six, the player who made the first move takes the first card, then the player who fought back takes the card. Thus, the game goes on until there is only one player left with cards in his hand. This player is considered the loser and is called the "fool".

American poker is a popular type of card game, presented in the form of two different modifications: slot machine and live poker. card game.

The original name of the game is American Poker. Despite the primitive name, the game is popular far beyond the US. Anyone who has ever taken part in the game notes that it is very exciting and interesting.

The most popular version of American poker is slot machine. The main advantage of this type of poker is accessibility. Also, the game application can be easily installed on a computer or smartphone. Often, this leads to feelings of nostalgia. People born in the late 80s or early 90s should remember the paid slot machines with this game. In the early 2000s, slot machines reached their peak of popularity. The rules of American poker, or rather its live card version, have some nuances. Perhaps that is why this version of the game did not take root much in Russia. This does not mean that no one plays American Poker at all - there are fans, but they are very few.

The game is constantly evolving, new modifications appear, with simplified rules and various variations in the number of cards in the deck.

Learning to play American Poker

American poker is in great demand in Europe. However, not all Europeans like to call this game American. main feature where is the deck size. For the game, 32 cards are used - from sevens to aces. The same poker combinations are used here as in Texas Hold'em. But there are also some innovations - the lowest street in poker here consists of cards T, 7, 8, 9 and 10.

The standard version of the game provides for the participation of six players.. The rules of American poker may apply to a smaller number of players. We note an important point right away: here the game is played not against the gaming establishment, but against opponents. The situation is different with the slot machine, because here the main task of the poker player is to beat the computer. Note that a well-trained person can easily do this.

Now let's move on to the main question: what are the rules of playing American poker? Similar to Hold'em each player receives two cards. The first card is face-down, and the second remains on the table - it can be seen by opponents. It is important to understand: cards are dealt only to poker players who have made an ante.

Upon completion of the distribution process, the players proceed to bidding. The player with the highest card must ante double. If the highest card is the same value for several players, seniority is determined by suit: clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades.

Rules of the game in American poker, at the end of the circle mandatory rates, provide for the start of full-fledged trading. Players can raise bets, taking into account the previously agreed limits. One hand includes a maximum of four betting rounds.

At the end of the betting round, each poker player receives an additional card. It is important to note that they are distributed in the open. At each stage of the game, the player with the highest potential American Poker hand is placed first.

Upon completion of all rounds of bidding, the remaining players reveal a hidden card, and determine the winner.

What is it that attracts players to American Poker so much? This is quite an interesting thoughtful game. The advantage is given to those who can calculate the probability of winning not only their own, but also their opponents.

The main components successful game at American Poker is optimal number of outs. The ideal moment for counting outs in American poker is the last round of betting. Just do not forget that there are 32, not 52 cards.

Today, not a single popular poker room provides tables with American Poker. But judging by the latest trends, and the appearance of Chinese poker on many sites, the appearance of an American version of the card game is also possible in the near future.

Simulator - American Poker 2

Now, everyone can plunge into a state of nostalgia by installing the American Poker 2 application on their smartphone. But it is important to understand: this simulator has nothing to do with a live card game.

The scheme of the game is as follows: the interface provides for several reels on which the cards spin. At the moment the reels stop, a combination is set, which determines whether the player has won or not. Acquainted with winning combinations possible on a special table. It can usually be found in the corresponding tab. Plus, after winning, the computer offers to increase the amount of winnings - for this you need to guess bonus card. Wrong answer results in the loss of all money. Therefore, the use of this poker bonus is optional. The American Poker 2 app is similar to slot machine and there is plenty of excitement here.

For those who like to play cards at their leisure, I want to offer American card games that are practically unknown in our country. With the advent of computer programs for playing cards, it is no longer necessary to have a company, you can download the appropriate program and enjoy playing with a computer, or play with other users on the Internet.

Part I. Euchre

General rules of the game Euchre

Euchre is a popular card game played in America (especially the US Navy), Canada, England, New Zealand and Australia. The game originated in Europe in the 18th century and began to spread in America in the early 19th century, helped by its mention in the works of Bret Hart. A century ago it was the most popular game in America, whose popularity surpassed even poker. And to this day it is one of the most popular American card games. In Russian translation, the game is called differently: ukr, ukre or yuker.

The game is for four people and is based on the number of tricks. Depending on the variations, the rules of the game may change slightly, however general rules following. The game usually goes until 5, 7 or 10 points are reached. A deck of 24 cards, starting with 9s and going up to aces. They play in pairs, which are formed by players sitting opposite each other. The dealer, starting with the next player, distributes five cards to each, opens the last card and puts it face down (the three remaining cards remain in the deck and do not participate in the game). The game begins by betting for a trump card, the exposed card represents a potential trump card. Playing in turn, starting with the next player after the dealer, accept this card as a trump card for the game or not, the last turn of the dealer. As soon as the first of the players accepts this suit, it becomes a trump suit. If the trump card is accepted, then the dealer has the right to exchange any of his cards for an open card. If none of the players accepted the trump card, then they take turns, starting, again, from the first player after the dealer, can offer their trump card, different from the suit of the open card, or declare a no-trump game. If no one, including the dealer, has declared a trump or a no-trump game, then the con is considered played. They take turns one card at a time, starting with the next player after the dealer, then the one who took the bribe goes. The bribe is taken by the highest of the four laid out cards. It is obligatory to go in the suit, in the absence of it, you can throw any card, not necessarily a trump card. The seniority of the cards in the game is as follows: in the trump suit, the highest jack of this suit (Right Bower - Right Jack, or as it is affectionately called - Benny), then comes the jack of another suit of the same color (Left Bower - Left Jack), then the trump ace and so on to the trump 9, bypassing the jack. In other suits, the seniority of the cards is the usual, starting from the ace and up to the 9, except for the jack of the same color with a trump suit, which belongs to trump cards. If the game goes without a trump card, then the seniority of the card in all suits is from ace to 9. The goal of the game is to take three or five tricks, because points are awarded only for taking more than three tricks, while three and four tricks are awarded the same number of points. Pairs of players are divided into those who ordered the trump card (Makers - point guards) and those who play against them (Defenders - Whistlers). If the declarers have scored all five tricks, then this situation is called March, and if they have scored less than three, then the situation is called Euchre. The declarer who orders the trump has the right to play alone, in which case his partner folds his cards and does not participate in the draw, the whistlers play together against one declarer. In some variations, the whistler can also play alone, but in practice this only makes sense if more points are given for a successful single whist than for a double whist. Only one side receives points in the game. Declarers, depending on the number of tricks, receive the following number of points:

Points for bribes

The whistlers get 2 points only if they score more than 2 tricks. At the end of the drawing of the horse, the next player becomes the dealer, who distributes the cards again.

Points in the game Euchre are traditionally marked with the remaining cards from the full deck, laying out part of the cards face down and covering the excess parts of the cards with other cards face down.

Variations of the game Euchre

As I mentioned earlier, the game Euchre, like almost any card game, has many variations created by changing the rules or adding new ones.

There are variants of the game in which everyone plays for himself, including for three people. This variation of the game is called Cutthroad (Bandit), while all the players whistle and they temporarily unite against one player. When playing with three players for the March situation, when the player takes all the tricks, he receives 3 points, the remaining points are considered similar to the game with four.

Different variants of the game are formed using decks with a number of cards other than 24. Decks of 28 and 32 cards are used, two decks of 16, 20 and 24 cards. In the case of using two decks, if two identical cards are laid out in one turn, then the first one laid out is considered the highest. The English version of the game provides for the addition of one joker to the deck, while it becomes the highest card, and the no-trump game is not played. In some other variations, the no-trump game is also prohibited. Also, in various variations, 6 or 7 cards are dealt, while to get points you need to take at least 4 tricks.
There is a variation of the betting game in which the players order a trump card and the number of tricks that the players will be able to take with this trump in a circle, while all the cards in the deck are dealt. The minimum number of bribes is two. In trading, each subsequent order must be greater than the previous one; the one who passed is no longer involved in trading. The trump card of the one who ordered the maximum number of tricks is accepted. For each trick taken, the players receive 1 point, if the team does not score the ordered number of tricks, then its score is reduced by the number of points corresponding to the number of tricks ordered. In this variation, the first move belongs to the winner of the betting, regardless of who dealt.

Championship Euchre Pro Interface

Before you - classic version games in Euchre with default settings. Pairs game. Directly opposite is your ProfPlum partner. Left and right are players Ricky and MsPotts, who form a pair of your opponents. The MsPotts player is the dealer, as evidenced by the icon on the player's picture and in the lower right corner opposite his name. A card with the king of spades is open, which means that the spade suit is offered as a trump suit. To pass, just left-click on playing field.

You can also call up two context menus by clicking on the open map with the left

and right mouse buttons.

When pressing the left mouse button, the context menu will consist of the minimum number of items sufficient to accept or not the given suit as a trump card. Let's take a closer look at this menu:

Order it (Appointment of a trump card) - accepting the suit of an open card as a trump card;
Go Alone (Play alone) - choosing this suit as a trump card, as well as refusing to play a partner in this round and playing alone against two opponents;
Pass (Pass) - refusal to accept this suit as a trump card;
Cancel (Cancel) - remove the context menu without choosing a trump card.

In case your partner dealt, the first item of accepting this suit as a trump card in both context menus will be Assist with upcard (I support an open card), in this case your partner will get an open trump card, i.e. he already has one guaranteed trump card. If it was your turn to deal and everyone passed, then this menu item will be Pick it up (I accept) and in this case you will get a guaranteed trump card. In the Championship Euchre Pro game, the exchange of any card for an open one is mandatory, however, the situation when you would like to refuse this "voluntary" exchange is possible purely theoretically. The items of the extended context menu, in addition to the items we have considered, include additional items that duplicate the program menu items, which will be discussed below (the Undo play menu item corresponds to the Take back item of the Practice menu).

If everyone passed, then a trump card is ordered in the second round, you can choose any suit for trump cards, except for spades, or play without trump cards. You can also pass.

Points for playing Championship Euchre Pro

You can set the amount of points for tricks. Points for bribes depend on one of the three game options you choose: Partner (Partner game), Cutthroad (Bandit) and Bid (Game with trade).

Partner game (Partner)

Score handicap (Handicap): 0;
Points for win (Partners) (Points for winning together): 1;
Points for win (Alone): 1;
Points for march (Partners) (Points for the March situation when playing together): 2;
Points for march (Alone) (Points for the March situation when playing alone): 4;
Points for partners Euchred (Points for the Euchre situation when playing together): 2;
Points for alone Euchred (Points for the Euchre situation when playing alone): 2;

When setting a handicap, a positive form gives an advantage to opponents, a negative one - to your team. When playing on the Master difficulty level, opponents are given a handicap of 2 points. The team is considered to have won, in the round, if it has collected more than half of the tricks, while only if it has not collected all the tricks, the number of players does not matter. The points for taking all the tricks when playing with two players are higher than the points for taking all without one trick when playing alone. Thus, it makes sense to play alone only with a good enough combination of cards, when there is a chance to take all the tricks, otherwise, to achieve more points, you should try to take all the tricks together (this is true for playmakers). For whistlers, it does not matter how many people they play against, because. the number of points in both cases is the same.

Game every man for himself (Cutthroad)

End game at (End of the game): 10;
Score handicap (Handicap): 0;
Points for win (Points for victory): 1;
Points for march (Points for the March situation): 2;
Points for maker Euchred (Points for the situation Euchre): 2;
Minimum win margin: 2.

As you can see, in terms of the number of points received, the variation repeats the previous one, adjusted for the fact that here everyone plays for themselves.

Trading game (Bid)

End game at (End of the game): 32;
Score handicap (Handicap): 0;
Tricks worth (Partners) (Points for each trick when playing together): 1;
Tricks worth (Partners march): 1;
Tricks worth (March Alone) (Points for each trick when playing alone in a March situation): 1;
Tricks worth (Defenders) (Points for each trick of the whistlers): 1;
Minimum win margin: 2.

If the ordered number of tricks is not collected, the point guards lose the number of points equal to the number of tricks ordered. As you can see, the score required to end the game is increased compared to the previous options, because. in one round, a number of points equal to the number of cards dealt to each player can be won. For scoring, it does not matter whether the team plays as point guard in pairs, alone, or whistles. Playing the game gives an advantage only in ordering a trump.

If you are not satisfied with the default number of points for different tricks in different situations, you can set your own values.

If you select Laps, then the points in excess of those needed to win are carried over to the next game. If you select Slams (Helmets), then the points in the game will be doubled if the opponents have not scored a single point. If you select Both, then both rules will work.

Characteristics of computer players in Championship Euchre Pro

A unique feature of games written by DreamQuest Software is the ability to change the playing style of computer opponents. To call this feature, you can left-click on the picture with the image of any player.

This will show the characteristics that it possesses. Each player, in addition to the name and image file, has four characteristics, each of which has three levels.

The Game Skill parameter determines the level of the game: Beginner (Beginner), Average ( Average level), Expert (Expert). Rookies will fold good cards without understanding the essence of the game. Mid-level players will try to take tricks, but will play without a strategy. The experts will look at what suit the players pass and order the trump card, at the expense of the game, they will also know the cards of their partners.

The Memory parameter determines the level of memorization of cards: Forgetful (Forgetful) - without memorization, Average (Average level) - remembers all issued cards and Card counter (Card counter) - in addition to remembering all issued cards, it also knows the cards of all its partners.

Parameter Predictability (Predictability) determines the predictability of the actions of the players: Near-random (Almost random), Average (Average level) and Repeatable (Repeated). Players with an almost random level of predictability are somewhat random, having the same combination of cards in their hands in the same situation, they can move differently. Players with repetitive predictability base their game on the available cards, in the same situation with the same cards, they make decisions about the move with the same cards, i.e. their game depends entirely on the game situation.

Parameter Aggressiveness (Aggressiveness) determines the behavior of players with trump cards: Shy (Cautious), Average (Average), Forcefull (Furious). Aggressive players will play with trump cards, trying to knock them out of the opponent, especially with older trump cards in their hands, cautious players will try to hold trump cards.

General level player is determined by the sum of these four parameters. If you are looking to replace a player or change one of their stats, click the Edit button.

When asked if you want to replace a player or change his characteristics, click Yes if you want to replace a player, and No if you only want to change his characteristics.

Hardwood Euchre

The Hardwood firm is known for their hardwood solitaire collection. At the same time, computer versions of popular American card games were also written by this company, one of which, Hardwood Euchre, I present to you.

Installing Hardwood Euchre

When you install the program, you will be asked to enter your email address to sign up for a free mailing list. If you don't want to subscribe to it, just leave these fields blank and click Next.

If you are a registered user of the program, you can enter your serial number during installation and click Install Full Version, in which case the registered version of the program will be installed immediately, but you can always enter it later, but for now install 30- shareware version of the program by selecting Install 30 day Trial Version.

If you install a trial version, the program will introduce you to the benefits of using full version programs.

If you chose to add shortcuts to your desktop during installation, a "Play Euchre" shortcut will appear on your desktop. It has the same name as the shortcut for Championship Euchre Pro, so be careful when installing both programs and rename the shortcut for the first installed program.

First launch of Hardwood Euchre

The first time you run the program, you will be prompted for a tutorial that you can access at any time via the Tutorial item on the Help menu. The textbook consists of five parts. The first part tells about the tricks and seniority of cards in the game, the second - about ordering a trump card, the third - about points per game, the fourth part describes the three-player game, and the fifth - the features of the game via the Internet.

Hardwood Euchre Menu

The program menu looks like the screenshot below. To start the game, select Play Euchre (Play Euchre), to play via the Internet - Play Euchre Online (Play Euchre on the Internet). The Options menu item is used to configure the program, the Help item provides access to the help system, the Ordering item allows you to buy the program, and the Quit item is used to exit the program.

Hardwood Euchre Customization

Before the first game, I recommend setting the program settings to your liking. The settings menu consists of five submenu items.

Menu Others (Other settings) is used to set the basic settings of the program.

Touch Sence Effects (Effects TouchSence) - support for Immersion Touch Sence effects;
Low Quality Trans (Low quality) - a slight deterioration in image quality by reducing the use of RAM;
Game Over Music (Music at the end of the game) - playing the final music at the end of the game;
Highlight Cards (Illumination of cards) - illumination of cards under the mouse cursor;
Darkens Cards (Dark cards) - darkening the cards that cannot go into this run;
MMX (Support MMX command set);
Score Cards - show score cards;
Sort by Suit (Sort by suit) - sort cards by suit, excluding trump cards;
Fast Trump (Quick bribe) - remove the delay after each move;
No Foom (Prohibition of Foom-effects);
Check News - downloading news from the developers' site, considering updating the news about once a year is not a very useful feature;
Show Player - show the image of your hero chosen by you;
Confirm Exit - confirmation request before exiting the program;
Animation Speed (Animation speed) - animation speed setting: Slow (Slower), Fast (Faster);
Enable Proxy - Set up a proxy server when playing over the Internet.

The Replay Game menu allows you to restore any of your played and recorded games. You can record the last 10, 25, 50, or 100 games, or all games, and undo game recording. You cannot play the game again, but you can restore the sequence of moves.

Hardwood Euchre Interface

In addition to configuring the program itself, it is also recommended to configure the game settings. Before starting the game, you can choose a username if other people use the game besides you. You can also select the level of difficulty (Difficulty): Easy (Easy), Medium (Average), Hard (Difficult). To start the game, click on the inscription "Click here to Start" (Click here to start).

You can choose different variations of the game (unfortunately there are very few of them) on the Rules tab. The following variations are available:

British Rules (English rules) - an English version of the game with the addition of a joker to the deck;
Cut Throat (each for himself) - a game of three, each for himself;
Stick the Dealer (Force the dealer) - the dealer does not have the right to pass on the second round when ordering a trump suit, if everyone passed the first time;
Play to 15 points (Play up to 15 points) - instead of 10, the game will go up to 15 points.

Tab Character (Personality) allows you to choose the character you will play.

Tab Opponents (Rivals) allows you to select the characters of other players. You can specify specific characters for all or individual players, or select player characters at random (All Random). If a question mark is drawn in place of the character, then it is chosen randomly. To start the game, return to the Start tab again.

Right in the middle is your playmate, in this case Morgana. A couple of your opponents are Gnome and Sir Spike. The dealer is indicated by the letter D (Dialer - Dealer), in this case it is Gnome. The players following from him to his left passed, now it's your turn to speak your word, a diamond suit is offered as a trump card. You can choose Pass (Pass), Go Alone (I play alone) and Accept (I agree with the trump suit). The letter H (Host - Host) means that you were the initiator of the game, when playing on the Internet, if you join any table, the host will be different.

Because no one has chosen a trump card, then the order of a trump card goes around the second round. This time, the rest of the players also passed and now it's your turn to assign trump, but you, as before, can pass. After choosing a trump suit, which starts to glow, the remaining menu items become available to you: Accept and Go Alone. During the game, the trump suit is displayed as a shadow in the middle of the table. Points are shown in the lower left corner.

Hardwood Euchre Help System

Access to the help system is carried out through the item Help (Help) of the central menu of the program. In addition to the help system itself, called by the menu item of the same name, you have the ability to launch the Tutorial, check the release of a new version of the program, receive news from the program server (which, as I said, come out once a year) and enter the registration code (Unlock code).

Playing Hardwood Euchre on the Internet

If you have not played on the Internet before, then you first need to register.

After registering and agreeing to the license to play on the Internet, you can enter information about yourself into the profile created for you. This information will be available to other players and will help them better understand who they are playing with and not ask the same questions: "Where are you from? What is your gender? Age?..." etc. However, it is not necessary to do this, filling in these fields is purely voluntary.

Now you can enter the game. To do this, you need to choose the room in which you will play.

And then join the game at one of the game tables or initiate the creation of your own game.

While playing online, you may want to thank your partner for good game or take out the anger on the enemy. You can easily do it. To do this, the game has special effects called Foom-effects (not all effects are available in the unregistered version). When you press right button mouse on any player, a Foom-menu appears, in which actions such as: throw fire or snowball at the player, or strike with lightning are available. There are also positive effects: a kiss, a golden shower, a rainbow. These effects are also available when playing with computer players, on which you can practice, naturally, such effects only make sense when playing with people, they do not affect the score, but they can cheer you up.

Register Hardwood Euchre

The unregistered version of the program has a number of limitations. By registering the program, you will be able to:

Choose any cards for the game, and also get the opportunity to add images you like using the Deck Press card editor;

Choose to play any character you like;
Use any Foom-effects;
Play the game as much as you like after the 30-day period (the unregistered version after this period only allows you to play one game per day with computer players).

The registration fee for the program is $25.

Conclusion

The Championship Euchre Pro program is quite professionally written and contains a large number of variations that you can customize to your liking. The game is constantly being improved, including through user messages, if, in your opinion, computer opponents do not play well enough in certain situations, you can also contribute by sending a message to the author about a bad game.

The Hardwood Hearts program, compared to the previous one, looks much more colorful, has animation and various special effects, however, it contains much fewer variations of the Euchre game and fewer features, it plays a little weaker, in general, it is noticeably inferior in terms of its gaming qualities. But in it there is an opportunity to play three together.

It is up to you to decide which program to choose: prettier or with more features. You can also enjoy free game over the Internet at Mystic Island, iPlay, PlaySite, Yahoo! Games , Pogo or in Microsoft play area.

Card games are loved all over the world. With them, as with ordinary ones, it's nice to pass the time in the company, card tournaments are held in many countries of the world. There are more than a thousand varieties of card games, and we have compiled the TOP 7 of the most popular of them.

♠ ♠ ♠
7

GIN RAMMI

Most popular in the US and Latin America. Gin rummy originated from the popular Mexican game kunken in the middle of the last century. Now this variant of rummy is distributed mainly in Europe and the USA.

The game belongs to the logical-strategic, and it is rarely played for money. Gin-rummy is designed for 2-4 people. To play in pairs, 10 cards are dealt, a company of three or four people receives seven cards in their hands. The remaining deck after the distribution is placed in the middle of the table and the top card is removed - players will discard unnecessary cards onto it.

The main goal of the game is to collect a combination of three or more cards of the same suit or value. Players can draw cards from both resulting decks, but they cannot discard sheets just taken from the discard pile. Best Position in the game - genie, when a person has no "extra" cards in his hand that are not used in a combination. The player who scores the most points loses and hands over the sheets (corresponds to the value of the card, the ace in rummy is considered one, the jack, queen and king are tens).

BRIDGE

One of the most beloved in America and Europe, but not very popular in the CIS countries. The forerunner of the bridge is considered to be "whist", popular in Russian Empire from the 19th century, but practically disappeared in Soviet times.

The complexity of the bridge is comparable to chess and backgammon, the game is internationally recognized as a game mind sports. Bridge hosts major tournaments and mini-events designed for a company of eight people. Distinctive feature- a person does not play for himself, but for his couple (East in a team with the West, North with the South). In bridge, it is not customary to prompt or help your friend, the game has a strict code of ethics that does not allow any violation of the rules and discipline.

Four people participate in a home rubber bridge. This variety is less popular due to the large influence of randomness on the results of the game. Bridge lovers prefer a sporty variation of the game, in which everything depends on memory and logical thinking.

♠ ♠ ♠

PREFERENCE

Like bridge, it is an "aristocratic" game with its own code of honor, which has its roots in the English "whist". It is most interesting to play preference in a company of three or four people - cards are dealt only to three players, and with a larger number of participants, entertainment loses pace and dynamism. Preference refers to commercial games, where, unlike gambling, the outcome of the game depends not on luck, but on the skills of the participants.

The preference does not use sevens, they play with a deck of 32 sheets. The main goal of the game is to score more points. The rules of preference are changed from time to time. The last revision took place in 1996, when the Russian Club of Preference Admirers issued its own set of recommendations and rules of the game.

♠ ♠ ♠

BLACK JACK

One of the most famous card games in the world, invented specifically for the casino. The forerunner of blackjack is the 21st game, popular in 19th-century France. Blackjack first appeared in gambling establishments USA. In order to interest a wide range of visitors, casino employees had to carry out various PR campaigns and even modify the rules of the classic “Twenty-one” to be more interesting for players.

In Russia, one of the variations of blackjack is popular - a point. The main difference between these varieties is in the deck: in the American version, 54 cards are used, in the Russian one - 36. A point is considered a home option, which is more suitable for playing outside the casino.

♠ ♠ ♠

POKER

The most famous and popular gambling card game in the world. Poker is internationally recognized as a sport that regularly hosts tournaments and championships. The game gained popularity over two hundred years ago, the first mention of a similar card entertainment dates back to the beginning of the 16th century.

Poker perfectly combines logical and strategic features with high level depending on luck. As in gin rummy, the main goal of the participants is to score the most "weighty" combination. It is more interesting to play poker with bets (albeit with play money), when participants need to feel the atmosphere at the table to save their funds, understand when it is better to leave the game and save the remaining chips, and at what point to take a risk and raise the bet.

Bluffing is also important in poker. A player who does not own valuable cards can bluff opponents who are unsure of their abilities, forcing them to leave the game.

♠ ♠ ♠

GOAT

The goat appeared in Germany at the end of the 19th century, becoming today one of the most popular card games in the CIS countries. Has many variations. Each region has its own version of the goat, which differs in the rules for assigning a trump, which often creates confusion for participants from different cities.

The goat is both bridge and fool at the same time. As in bridge, players are divided into teams sitting crosswise, three-player “one against two” is allowed. The resemblance to a fool is manifested in the presence of a trump card and the need to beat the cards of opponents.

♠ ♠ ♠
1

FOOL

A game that needs no special introduction, the rules of which are known even to first graders. The fool appeared in the Russian Empire in the 19th century and was distributed only among peasants - the nobility preferred "aristocratic" preference and bridge. The game gained popularity in the USSR, at the same time new varieties of the fool appeared: flip, transfer, with a deck of 52 cards.

The fool is distinguished by simple rules and the ability to play big company. Like most non-real money card games, a fool will help you forget about problems and get rid of.
