Pandemic board game download and print. Board game "Pandemic" and why I don't like it. Why you should download Pandemic: The Board Game for Android

Attention! This review does not claim to be objective. It expresses my personal point of view on the Pandemic game.

At first I wanted to do a normal review of this game, but changed my mind. There are several reasons for this: I made the “Pandemic” myself, i.e. this is my samizdat-PnP and the game itself "Pandemic" to me I do not like purely philosophical. Yes, the mechanics are cool, the idea is also cool - you dangle around the world and save these little people, but the deep idea is destructive and vile.

Therefore, I will tell you how I made this game and then I will criticize it. If you like the game, then I'm happy for you. And if you use my experience in PnP, I will be doubly happy.

Game idea

"Pandemic" is cooperative game, i.e. joint. We, along with our comrades, play against the mechanics of the game and try to save the planet from an infection that can destroy all of humanity.

The game has a number of characters for which we will have to play. These characters have their own properties and abilities, and this is what makes them all different. Choose the one you like best or randomly and go. By the way, you can play alone for one character, which will not be easy, or get yourself 3-4 and play in turn for all of them.

In general, the main idea of the game is to save the world from a deadly infection.

PnP on "Pandemic" - my version

- field;

The field consists of 4 A4 sheets (see the photo above). Regular inkjet printing, lamination.

I described all the details earlier in the article:. If you have any other questions - write in the comments, I will answer or write a new post with details.

- cards;

In the production of cards, too, did not go far. Printed on photo paper 130 gr., After that - lamination. Everything is described at the link above, in my instructions for making pnp.

- tokens;

The tokens are made of thick cardboard. Some of them are simply glued from 2 sheets, others are pasted on ordinary cardboard from parcels.

- colorful cubes;

Instead of multi-colored transparent cubes, I use such square things that were originally intended for needlework and other crafts. These colorful plastic tiles stick to any surface and form patterns and mosaics. I, as a desktop developer, found another use for them. Quite successful, let me tell you.

And, yes, if you glue 3 of these squares together, you get a cube. A little tedious, but doable. However, I had enough flat squares.

- player chips;

I bought chips for my pnp games. I immediately bought a whole bag, in my opinion, there were about 100 pieces, 6 different colors. With their help, several of my peenpashs are already functioning.

- other;

Closable bags, stationery clothespins for fixing the playing field.

Why I don't like Pandemic

As I said above, the idea of the Pandemic game is destructive and vile. I don't like games where some kind of unhealthy context was initially laid down, in this case, everyone should die from some kind of infection. From the very beginning, we start the game in an infected world, which has nothing left and we must clean everything up.

I don't like games about germs, contagion, disease, rats, plague, etc., where the contagion is the character of the game. This character plays the main role, and you play the secondary role. Very often this so-called. " main character"wins: the players lost, the infection won, the whole world died. Pretty! In such games from the very beginning you force yourself to believe that the world is already doomed a priori and, with a high degree of probability, everyone will die. Some kind of surreal and hidden suicide.

Some people like such games, in particular, "Pandemic" is very popular and takes first place in the world rankings, but not in my collection.

Always yours - Nastolgame.
Wash your hands before playing!

The game takes place in the fourteenth century during a plague. Everyone is saved as best they can - the rich close themselves in their castles, the poor take refuge in dilapidated shacks, trying to protect their cubs, sorcerers brew potions and cast spells. All this does little to help the situation, everyone dies the same way. After all, the main carriers of this misfortune are rats, of which there are many everywhere: both in castles and in shacks.

Gloomy, right?

Yes, the topic really scares me at first, I myself do not like rats and everything connected with them. But after playing a few games, we came to the conclusion that the game is not even bad.

Players take turns placing their dice throughout Medieval Europe to avoid the Plague. Rich classes help to survive, and peasants to increase the population. The more civilians left at the end of the game in hand (dice of their color), the higher the probability of winning the game.

The playing field (Europe, the historicity of which was simply scored) is divided into sectors, before the game, a rat token is placed on each sector with the image up. Players don't know what's on reverse side token. Plague is also placed in any of the sectors.

The players take turns, the player's turn consists of three phases.

  1. You can choose any 2 representatives of the estate(there are 6 in total): take 1 card from the free ones and take one from another player (not a pleasant, but necessary action).

Privileged estates are free and give different bonuses, but at the same time, they are weaker than peasants and die much faster.

King allows you to carry 1 die from the field to the castle, there are no rats there, and therefore it remains there until the end of the game and does not die.

Monk (clergy) prays and carries the rats to the next sector.

Knight (nobility) tries to save humanity and moves the Plague two steps instead of one.

Merchant (bourgeoisie) can move his dice to another sector, away from death. In one move - only up to three dice.

Witch (magic) casts a spell and can look at two tokens and, if desired, swap them.

Peasants survive by breeding - a peasant can place one die more than usual in a sector.

  1. Place your cube people on the game board.

The player places his dice in any sector, but their number must not exceed the number of rats in that region.

  1. Move Plague.

The player moves the Plague one step into an adjacent sector. There is a flash - the tokens with rats are immediately opened and all effects are played out. Sometimes a token is removed from the game without causing devastating effects, and the players breathe a sigh of relief.

End of the game.

As soon as one of the players puts all his people on the playing field, or the supply of rat tokens runs out (less often), the end of the game is announced.

Then a mass destruction occurs - all the tokens are flipped over and their effects are played out. The player with the most dice left wins.

  1. Players interact closely with each other. This is not always happy, you can easily spoil the life of another by taking desired card estate or move the Plague to a sector with a lot of opponent's dice. This is a conflict game, it is better to play it with those who are ready for it.
  2. The atmosphere in the game is definitely present, even if it is negative.
  3. You can use various tactics during the game, there is the influence of unexpected factors.

Impression.

If we discard the negative theme - the game is very good. It is simple and one batch does not take much time. Still, I don't think it's funny. family game and you should not play it with children, especially since there is only one winner in the game and a conflict situation may arise. Yes, the game is not bad. But there are many others good games and more cute. For territory control, I would recommend , a plague-themed game, but cooperative and therefore not aggressive - .
