On April 28, 2015, the Central Bank of Russia put into circulation commemorative coin Russia in denomination of 10 rubles "The official emblem of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic war", series "70th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945".

The reverse shows the emblem of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII): the Order of the Patriotic War is located in the center of the disk, and the laurel wreath around the circumference on the ring of the coin. The Great Patriotic War is the largest military conflict of the 20th century, in which the USSR acted as the defender of its territories from Germany, which treacherously attacked in 1941. The Nazi war machine was designed for hasty success, but received unexpectedly desperate resistance, a long exhausting war and a crushing defeat.

1418 cruel days claimed the lives of about 27 million Soviet people, left mutilated cities and destroyed villages, ruined monuments and a dysfunctional national economy. The event of the highest emotional intensity was the victory announced in May 1945. In the year of the 70th anniversary of the historical triumph, the descendants of the Soviet people who went through the war continue to carry the banner of the victors of fascism and cherish the memory of the ruined lives of their great-grandfathers.

In 2013, the official emblem of the upcoming celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Victory was approved, the basis of which is the image of the legendary Order of the Great Patriotic War in the golden border of a laurel wreath. The emblem was designed by the heraldic master - artist N. I. Ukolov. He also made sketches of commemorative awards for those who survived the terrible time of fighting, occupation, captivity, exhausting work in the rear. The most important awards in 2015 were the medal and the honorary order "70 Years of Victory".

“The white dove is not suitable for this holiday - it symbolizes peace or reconciliation. The Soviet Union won the Great Patriotic War - we did not quarrel with the German people, Stalin spoke about this, and there can be no peace with fascism! Unfortunately, in this way we ourselves distort our history, ”Suraikin said in an interview with Izvestia. In his opinion, the new symbol contradicts the meaning of the holiday - and this is at a time when the country needs to resist attempts to rewrite the results of the Second World War.

To clarify, the official emblem for the 70th anniversary of Victory Day back in 2013 looked different - in the form of the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, familiar to everyone, framed by golden laurel branches, between which there was a golden inscription "70 years". Its author was the famous heraldic artist, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Nikolai Ukolov. The draft emblem was agreed with the Heraldic Council under the President of the Russian Federation and approved on July 12, 2013 at a meeting of the organizing committee "Victory" chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

However, the new "Guidelines for using the emblem of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War", which appeared in November 2014, offered a completely different vision of the festive logo - a white dove against a blue sky, with a St. George ribbon in the upper right corner and the inscription " 1945-2015. Victory! 70 years. “The dove is an easily recognizable symbol of peace. The color scheme of the ribbon is the colors of Victory, Memory; sky-blue color - the color of New Life, Sky, Spring. The decoration of the composition with the image of the St. George ribbon indicates the theme of the celebration. The use of the colors of the Russian tricolor emphasizes the high state status of the celebration.<…>The logo lacks the traditional heavyweight, reusable symbols. Thanks to this, it is lightweight and as concise as possible. The symbolism of the logo cannot cause any negative associations, it is understandable to all generations,” the Guide says.

The emblem, designed by Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Nikolai Ukolov, contains traditional Soviet symbols of Victory.

Meanwhile, users take pictures with a dove on the streets of their cities and post them online - posts are immediately overgrown with dozens of precisely negative comments:

It should be noted that the Communist Party of the Russian Federation is also fighting for the preservation of Soviet symbols - in March of this year, deputies from the communist faction asked to keep the red star as the emblem of the Russian Armed Forces and use the five-pointed sign on all military paraphernalia - on uniforms, military equipment and banners.

At the same time, over the past month, several reports appeared in the media about embarrassing situations related to the symbols of May 9th. So, in Karelia, they decided to completely exclude the use of Soviet symbols when celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Victory:

“If someone independently decides to issue a congratulation to veterans, create a poster or something else, he can use the star, hammer and sickle and other Soviet symbols as he sees fit. But veterans will not see them on Kirov Square and other official festive venues,” the Petrozavodsk administration explained to one of the local publications.

And in Krasnoyarsk, a scandal has recently completely flared up - at the local competition "The Best Confectioner of Siberia", dedicated to the anniversary of the Victory, symbols associated with the Great Patriotic War were used when decorating cakes. The confectionery, which was recognized as the best, contained images of front-line photographs, a funeral, an airplane, as well as a figure of a man with a murdered child in his arms. After the scandal, the Minister of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Elena Pazdnikova, resigned. The government of the region stated that the official left the post of her own free will and her departure had nothing to do with the scandal at the competition.

Let us add that in April 2015 the State Duma Defense Committee of the Russian Federation proposed to introduce criminal liability for desecration of the symbols of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, such as the Banner of Victory, the Order of Victory and the St. George Ribbon. The State Duma believes that these symbols should be protected in the same way as the state flag and coat of arms. Corresponding changes are supposed to be recorded in the Criminal Code, supplementing Article 329 “Desecration of the State Emblem of the Russian Federation or the State Flag of the Russian Federation” with new norms.

Note that the crime under Art. 329 of the Criminal Code “Desecration of the State Emblem of the Russian Federation or the State Flag of the Russian Federation” is punishable by restraint of liberty for a term of up to 1 year, or forced labor for the same term, or arrest for a term of 3 to 6 months, or imprisonment for a term of up to 1 year.

In 2014-2015, the Central Bank of Russia plans to issue a series of coins "70th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" into circulation. One of the coins of this series is a coin 10 rubles "The official emblem of the celebration of the Victory."

There have been many wars in the history of Russia. Hordes came from East and West, trying to take over our land and enslave our people. But the most terrible and tragic, the most difficult war in our (and in world) history is the Great Patriotic War.

This war was no longer about territories. The question of the very existence of our people was being decided, to live or not to live. The Nazis and their masters believed that there was no place on Earth for Russians. That we should be destroyed, and our land should be transferred to more worthy owners. And so, a horde of fascist non-humans moved to the East.

The Nazis were very well prepared for this war. All the industrial power of Europe worked for them, they were financed and politically supported by the world financial and banking oligarchy, they could mobilize the human resources of all the countries they captured into their army. The population of Germany, with rare exceptions, was fooled by fascist propaganda, the Germans were ready to fight, not sparing their lives, if only to establish a New World Order in which they would be the master race.

There was no force in the world capable of stopping this insane horde. So it seemed at the time. There were no such forces in Europe, America preferred to sit out overseas. And only Russia, which at that time bore the name of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, was able to do the impossible. Our country, torn from an unbearable, incredibly heavy burden, nevertheless survived, wounded, covered in blood, withstood everything and won. She saved herself and the whole world. And therefore this Victory is called the Great, just as this war is called the Great Patriotic War. It's been 70 years. Several generations have changed. But people continue to celebrate Victory Day as their personal holiday. Like a second birth. He must not be forgotten.
