Wanderer of the edge in real life. Who is an enderman in Minecraft? How Enderman tried to be Enderman

Minecraft is a game in which mobs are divided into three types: harmless, neutral and aggressive. The former will not attack the player under any circumstances, even if they are threatened with death, because they are simply incapable of causing harm. Neutral mobs quietly move around the world and go about their business, on the player, until he provokes them. For some of these characters, getting too close is enough, some require hitting. But if you provoked a neutral mob, then it will behave like an aggressive one. In turn, an aggressive mob, as soon as it sees the player, will immediately begin to attack him. Therefore, you will have to take the fight if he notices you. Each class has its own outstanding examples, but it is the enderman that is most interesting to disassemble, which is the most interesting not only among neutrals, but, most likely, of all mobs in general. Who is the enderman in Minecraft?

Ender Wanderer

Officially, this mob is called the Wanderer of the Edge, but gamers most often call it the enderman. The fact is that this is the name he bears in the English version of the game. It appeared because of the place where this mob comes from. Enderman in Minecraft appears most often in the world called the Edge, which in the English version is called End. Accordingly, gamers more often refer to the mod as an enderman, and its place of origin as End. So, you can meet him in the End at almost every turn, but he also appears in the ordinary world, where meeting him can be very dangerous. What is an enderman in Minecraft? Why is he so dangerous?

Enderman features

The first thing you pay attention to when you see what an enderman looks like in Minecraft is his height. The fact is that in this game this mob is the highest. His height is equal to three blocks. All other beings, including himself main character, are noticeably smaller. The intimidating appearance of the enderman is given by its coal and also luminous. However, it is scary because of appearance it makes no sense. Much worse is how he behaves towards the player, being a neutral mob. Feeling this, you will want to know how to tame the enderman in Minecraft, but this, unfortunately, is impossible. So you will either have to move very carefully, or prepare for a fierce fight.

Enderman behavior

As mentioned above, an enderman is a neutral mob that won't touch you as long as you don't touch it. How to make an enderman aggressive in Minecraft? To do this, you just need to hit him, and he will immediately begin to attack you in response. But this applies only to daylight hours. You can just bypass this mob and it won't touch you. But everything changes with the onset of night. Here you will not even need to approach the enderman to piss him off. As soon as you aim at him, that is, look at him, he will look at you in response, after which he will teleport behind you and begin to attack. That's why you'd better not make eye contact with endermen at night. If this still happened, then you need to try to keep the enemy on sight so that he cannot teleport to you behind your back again.

Other enderman features

In addition to such non-standard behavior at night, the enderman is also famous for his craving for rearranging blocks. This mob wanders aimlessly around the world, periodically choosing a block and rearranging it to a new place, having walked around with it a little. An enderman can carry almost any block that exists in the game. He looks especially funny with a dandelion in his hands.

The most frightening monster in Minecraft - especially if you are just starting to take your first steps in this square world. Appearing from nowhere, disappearing if you look at him, and it’s not even clear how to kill the enderman?

Regular Enemies

Enderman or Enderman it is a black monster 3 blocks high. He has a large supply of health, plus there is the ability to instantly teleport, which of course is unique in the world of Minecraft. In addition, the Wanderer of the Edge can take objects in his black hands ...

When you carelessly walk around the neighborhood at night, the wanderer of the Edge, noticing you, immediately runs at you, while opening his mouth, and obviously not to say “Hi, how are you, Steve!”. Oh no, he wants to have dinner!

Enderman's fighting style is quite simple - he teleports behind you and hits you from behind. Thus, in a fight with him, you need to turn around sharply and immediately hit without hesitation. In this case, it is better to choose a sword as a weapon, the bow is ineffective against the wanderer of the Edge. When he walks from afar, do not look away, he will only notice this and immediately teleport away. And you can easily find out who is the coolest of the mobs in Minecraft, for this you will know the answer for sure!

How to kill the wanderer of the Edge (enderman) in Minecraft. Without a doubt the best option is to lure him into a trap. Since the wanderer of the Edge is three blocks tall, and our character is two blocks tall, this should be used. To do this, we build a house two blocks high, and from there it will be possible to kill the enderman with impunity simply and easily. The second way is more dangerous, but for experienced player quite acceptable. We put a pumpkin on our heads and calmly approaches the wanderer of the Edge, he will not pay attention to us. But immediately after the first attack, he will understand what's what, so do not forget to turn around and hit with a sword. And very cheeky, but effective method- pour a bucket of water over the wanderer of the Land, he takes damage from water.

What drops out of the Wanderer of the Edge (enderman). Ender Pearl 1 piece.

Wither vs Enderman.

Endermen (Wanderers of the Edge) - mobs are neutral, not aggressive. They are able to show hostility only in case of direct provocation, when the player starts to beat or attack him.

Ways to tame an enderman

Enderman is a rather strong mob, so Minecraft players have repeatedly thought about the methods of taming it so that it becomes useful and protects the character. Making this mob your assistant is very difficult, in some cases, almost impossible.

You should be patient and prepare for the fact that the efforts of your player may remain fruitless, and the attempts will be numerous.

The most important thing is to be careful and follow these tips:

  • The first thing to know is that you should never look an Ender Walker in the eye. He perceives this action as an attack and begins to show aggression.
  • Approach the mob with small steps. As the dawn comes, he becomes quite passive, but do not get too close to him, because the Enderman is, first of all, a dangerous character. When it makes a threatening sound, run away.
  • Try to feed the Enderman. It is necessary to initially stock up on bird meat and constantly keep it in your hands. There is no guarantee that a hostile Enderman can be tamed this way, but you can try and see the result.

It is worth noting that the Minecraft game does not provide for the possibility of taming the Wanderer, but this is not a problem for a modern player: numerous methods and attempts to make the Enderman a friend, once upon a time, can become successful.

It is possible to watch thematic videos of how Minecraft players tried to tame the Wanderer.

The wanderer of the edge, or, enderman, is perhaps one of the mysterious mobs in Minecraft PE. The structure of the body and other features make you wonder what it is and why it was created at all. Let's figure out who the Wanderer of the Land is and how to fight him.

The mob is one of the tallest in the game, despite being less than one block wide, its height is three blocks. It has long arms and legs, a short torso and a standard Minecraft PE head.

The color is in shades of black, with the exception of the purple eyes, which were originally a separate texture and could be seen even if the mob was under an invisibility potion.

If the player is wearing a pumpkin, then the enderman will not attack the player if he looks into his eyes from any of the angles and at any distance. Therefore, when going to the ender world, do not forget to take a pumpkin with you.

Endermen are terribly afraid of water and take damage from both water and rain.. As soon as it starts to rain or they fall into the water, they immediately try to teleport to a protected place. Therefore, in the ender world, you could also capture a bucket of water, which you would spill on yourself if endermen started attacking you.

They only spawn in dark caves (when the lighting level is less than 7), from where there is already a chance that they will teleport to the surface. They can also spawn in hell, however, because there high level lighting is extremely rare. Upon death, they have a small chance to drop one ender pearl (Ender Pearl), with which the player can craft an ender eye that activates a portal to the ender world.

There is a small chance that he will take the block next to him, with the block he cannot spawn. The block in his hands visually looks larger than the same block standing on the ground. As a consequence, he can also put this block, if he is killed when he has a block in his hands, then this block will not fall out.

History of Enderman

Its original name (Enderman) comes from famous hero horror Slender Man, about which, by the way, there is a film in theaters now. The players on Reddit asked Notch to rename Enderman to Farlander, which translates as Delekozemelnik. Notch refused and said that he would rather rename the Far Lands. And so the idea to create the world of the Land was born.

He cannot teleport out of webs or while in sand or gravel. Endermen's only chance to escape from sand or gravel is to grab a block that suffocates them in their hands, the chance of which is extremely small, so they usually suffocate in the sand.

Have you heard the sounds of Enderman? Something weird and creepy. In fact, these are slow and distorted phrases "Hi" "Hello" "What's up" spoken backwards.

Endermen live and are born in the Endermere, after which through portals go to the normal world and the world of Hell, which explains the statements of the players that in the fortresses there is a greater chance of meeting an enderman.

Enderman in reality

Enderman, by the way, can be found in real life. To do this, you can buy a toy in the official Mojang store or on the Aliexpress website. A small and plush wanderer of the edge is unlikely to harm you, but he will certainly be able to decorate the room and give pleasure. The price for it is about $ 9, which is approximately 540-550 rubles.

N.B. At first, I did not plan to translate this and many other articles about mobs or Minecraft blocks. However, yesterday happened small discussion, where I had to give explanations about the translation into Russian of some names from the game. And then I thought that it is possible to translate such articles, supplementing them with comments about the translation of the term. Of course, if there is something to comment on.

Introduction to Enderman

Don't let your eyes go!

Like the picture at the beginning of the article? Enjoy because it's the safest way to look at an enderman. This long-armed, long-legged, darker-night mob with purple eyes is ready to take on any staring champion. He can often be found in the End or the Nether, but occasionally he can be encountered in the regular world. And even rarer are the players who, having met him, were able to look into his eyes and survive ...

This mob becomes aggressive if attacked first (which you don't have to) or if you just look at it (oh wow...). Considering that he can chase you and teleport around any obstacles, then heed our friendly advice: no need to stare at him! Write it on your forehead to remember. And don't forget to say thank you later.

“Enderman was created by Notch based on the Slenderman meme that was popular at the time on the Internet. This is really the most terrible mob in the game, which is also very strong. Initially, he had green eyes, so the objects related to him are also green. Then, one morning, Notch said to me: “Oh, I corrected the color of the eyes, they should be purple.” And I said: “OK”, and then the whole day I thought - why? *laughs* I think it's because the portal particles and the portal itself are purple. But I never got an explanation - I didn't actually ask because it seemed obvious to Notch!"
Jens Bergensten

It is noteworthy that the End dimension was already conceived after since the enderman was added to the game, so the similarity of names is just a frightening coincidence. But not as scary as waiting for an enderman to be hiding somewhere nearby right now, waiting for me to finish typing and look around ...

That's all. We had to glue our eyes - better than sorry ...

How Enderman tried to be Enderman

About the translation of the name

It seems to me that the translation of the word Enderman was the main reason why the translation of the game differs in many ways from the translation performed by the wiki community. Having failed to agree once on this word, then both sides did not try to find a common language for a long time.

It all started with the fact that the enderman was added to the game. It had the working title Farlander, and the wiki suggested calling it "black skeleton" or "stick insect". But not a single name has taken root, until the appearance of the End dimension. But the players calmly used the transliteration - "enderman".

And it was hard to imagine what could be different.

But then the "edge" happened. On October 13, 2011, a member of the Creep wiki community suggested the word "Edge" as a translation of the dimension name "End". This translation was approved by the wiki administration, and the community of players was divided into two parts. Those who started their acquaintance with the game by reading articles on the wiki were surprised to find the Ender Dragon instead of the Ender Dragon and the Enderman instead of the Ender Wanderer. And those who studied the world in the game, with bewilderment, tried to understand what the first ones were talking about.

It was not possible to agree on the term, and at some point in time they simply put up with this situation.

However, at some point in time, the term "Enderman" was given more weight the developers themselves. They defined a list of words that could not be translated - ie. they can be translated into Russian only by transliteration. This list also includes terms based on the words "End" and "Ender", which means that "Enderman" can only be "enderman".
