Unatoč eksploziji s njim, ne mogu navesti niti jednu glavnu točku zapleta Dying Lighta, FPS preživljavanja u Techlandovom kraljevstvu zombija. Ne mogu vam reći ime glavnog lika niti motivaciju. Ne mogu se čak ni sjetiti imena maglovitog turskog grada u kojem se igra odvija.

Tijekom E3, dobio sam prošireni pregled Dying Light 2 i također sam razgovarao sa Smektalom o tome kako ovaj nastavak planira ne samo proširiti ideje prvog dijela, već i nadmašiti njegove slabosti. Odradili smo sjajan posao s igricom, ali nedostajalo nam je resursa i iskustva da stvorimo priču koja bi bila jednako dobra - odgovorio je jedan od programera.

Tijekom Microsoftove press konferencije, razvojni programer RPG-a Chris Avellone izašao je na pozornicu kako bi predstavio Dying Light 2 sa scenarijem koji je obećavao da će naši izbori imati dramatičan utjecaj na njegov svijet. Poslao je jasnu poruku da će Dying Light 2 naglasiti priču i okruženje na način koji nikada nije postignut u prvoj igri.

Smeđe podneblje zamijenjeno naletom urbane europske rasprostranjenosti koja je prožeta s dovoljno žanrovske fantazije, estetike koju mi je otkrio prvi trailer, a ne gdje je smještena igra Dying Light 2. Konkretan zaplet za ovaj demo bio je jednostavan: neki sporedni likovi uspio ukrasti kontrolu nad vodotornjem u jednom od nekoliko gradskih četvrti. Mirotvorci, jedna od rijetkih preostalih jedinica za provođenje zakona u svijetu, poslali su izaslanika da pregovara s tim ljudima kako bi se voda mogla podijeliti sa svim građanima. Nažalost, ovaj izaslanik je nestao, pa je naš posao da saznamo što se dogodilo.

Kao što pokazuje trailer, izbori u ovim misijama mogu imati vrlo različite ishode. Kad pronađemo krijumčare, možemo ih eliminirati i dopustiti mirovnim snagama da zauzmu područje za sebe. Upravo ove svjetske promjene čine osnovu nove vizije za Dying Light 2. Više ne birate jednostavno opciju A ili B na temelju trenutnih nagrada, već umjesto toga donosite odluke koje utječu na priču, kako se krećete gradom i vaše odnose s lokalnim stanovništvom.

Kad se mirovne snage usele, cijelo se područje transformira. Grade se zidovi, postavljaju predstraže, a njihovi plavi transparenti vise posvuda.
