Far Harbor - passing the quest "great hunt". Far Harbor - Fallout 4 far harbor quest "great hunt"

We managed to please both fans of just wandering around the world and clearing locations from opponents, and adventurers with exciting stories and moral dilemmas. This is an exemplary DLC with a new area of considerable size, an attractive atmosphere with a touch of mysticism and promising secrets. Too bad there aren't many new weapons. But this is the only significant drawback.

A fisherman approached Nick Valentine's detective agency with a request to find his missing daughter. Almost immediately it turns out that she went to Far Harbor Island. As soon as the protagonist gets to this place, an ordinary case about a missing girl acquires unexpected details. The hero is drawn into a conflict involving a colony of synths, residents of a coastal town and the Children of the Atom sect. All of them somehow survive on this piece of land, next to bandits and monsters.

At first, the addition captivates not with the plot, but with the surroundings. There are no crowded squares and densely populated areas. The ruins and forest thickets are shrouded in a radioactive fog of unknown origin. Due to the perfectly staged play of shadow and light, you feel uncomfortable walking through the night forest or an abandoned settlement. A sudden encounter with harmless, in general, animals in such an environment is able to scare even a pumped and well-equipped hero. But new varieties of monsters, similar to giant insects, also live here.

The story gets more and more engaging. The protagonist gets acquainted with the representatives of the groups and listens to their opinions about the current situation. The authors perfectly embodied the familiar idea with the lack of a clear division of characters into right and wrong. They all believe in something, want to protect their comrades from adversity and defend their views. Among the people there are those who rightly thirst for blood and do not intend to endure the neighborhood with religious fanatics or synthetic creatures. The precarious balance of that and look will end in disaster.

A visitor from the "mainland" can find a relatively peaceful way to solve problems or destroy the entire locality. Pleasantly surprised by the number of options for the development of events and how the actions of the protagonist affect the final outcome. Everything is not limited to a banal choice between the image of a peacemaker and a destroyer. In Far Harbor, the hero is often allowed to display the skills of eloquence, provided that the corresponding parameters are developed well enough.

In addition, I want to communicate with the characters, since some people like to talk and tell a lot of interesting things about the island or their ideology. Even a series of ordinary assignments with the destruction of unwanted people at the indicated points is accompanied by a story about the loss of loved ones. The hero also brings traitors to light, unravels the tangle of intrigues and learns shocking details about influential personalities. Sometimes he has to go to tricks to achieve his goal.

The game also has a series of logic tests. True, this moment is more annoying because of the need to repeat the same actions many times. Otherwise, the riddles can not be dealt with. Not the most successful attempt to diversify the adventure.

However, a strange retreat does not prevent you from enjoying your stay in this region remote from civilization. The developers skillfully arranged the locations in such a way that you don’t have to look for troubles and “dungeons” for a long time. At the same time, the feeling of alienation and loneliness does not disappear.

To deal with the main part and more or less significant secondary missions is really thirteen hours. However, in Far Harbor, you can stay much longer if you study abandoned buildings and fish out secrets. Particularly desperate heroes should test their strength in battles with obscenely strong optional bosses.

It is not unreasonable to expect a steady stream of rewards from a large-scale addition. For the work of the protagonist is given unique items equipment that allows you to swim in radioactive water without fear, and armor. A harpoon is also at his disposal - a powerful and useful weapon. But such bonuses are indecently small for such a long adventure. There is a possibility that the pumped hero's arsenal of favorite "guns" will not change at all by the end.

Diagnosis

Far Harbor impresses with the amount of content, it makes you understand the difficult relations between the groups and think about where to put a comma in the phrase "execution cannot be pardoned." The island frightens with ominous images and enchants with an atmosphere of mystery. Many components remained the same, whether it be the presentation of the plot or uneven graphics. New types of weapons and armor are indecently few. However, the shortcomings are now relegated to the background.

  • A new region of considerable size
  • A fascinating story with the ability to influence the final confrontation between the three factions
  • Well created atmosphere mysterious island
  • Enough of secrets

Contra:

  • Not enough for this major addition new types of weapons and armor
  • Useless implementation of logic puzzles

Addition Far Harbor really has a large scale, and those who have already managed to try out new game, will easily confirm the developers' statements about the gigantic territories and the amount of content that appeared with the release of this DLC. In Far Harbor you can find a wide variety of items. The players, of course, pay the most attention to weapons and armor, since it is these types of equipment that help us deal with numerous opponents faster and easier. In this guide, we'll look at ways to obtain various hazmat suits and armor. Some of them are not very difficult to obtain, but there are also such samples, for the sake of which you will have to pass a whole series of tests. Do not forget that different armor has a different purpose. So, traveling around the new island you will find suits that will give you an increase in performance, others will give you good protection from radiation, which you constantly have to fight.

Armor set marines

This armor is a completely new set that you can get in new territories. The armor has excellent characteristics that will satisfy the needs of most players. In addition, it is worth noting that there are several options for kits at once. The simplest armor is called the Zealot Armor of the Marines. The improved variant is referred to as the "Marine Corps Assault Armor". In addition, there is a legendary set. It can be found under the name "Marines Reconnaissance Armor". You can purchase armor from merchants, make it at a workbench, or get it by completing a task. Either way, the end result will be worth the effort.

Zealot Marine Armor

Of course, we'll start with the base variant, since it won't take too long to get it, and it's still not very correct to start right away with the legendary set. Once in new territories, you will complete tasks of the main storyline, which sooner or later will lead you to get acquainted with the "Children of the Atom" faction. You will have the option to join this faction permanently or become a temporary member. When you pass the test, you will be able to talk to the merchants of the faction. You need to find Brother Kane. It is he who will sell you the Zealot Armor of the Marine Corps. It is worth looking for it on the second floor, which can be reached using the stairs at the end of the main corridor. It is worth noting that Brother Kane will sell you all the items in the set, except for the helmet. You can replace it with the "Marine Corps Tactical Helmet" by purchasing it from the same merchant.

Marine assault armor

Now let's move on to getting the upgraded kit. This time, you won't have to waste your precious caps by giving them away to a greedy merchant. As you progress through the main quest, you will gain access to the "Find Your Place" task. You will need to hack the Faraday terminal. Having acquired the necessary program, you have to get to the Core. More specifically, to the control room, access to which is at the very top of the headquarters of the "Children of the Atom" faction. After completing five puzzles, you will have a task to find three armor containers. Now open your Pip-Boy and make this quest active. After that, the map will show the places where you can find containers.

Your first destination will be Rayburn Point. Walk along the coast, which is located in the northwestern part of the island. When you get to this place, open the map and locate the marker. Proceed there and look for a container that contains two pieces of the set: a helmet and a chest. Note that in this area it is best to use the Hazmat suit, which will help you deal with radiation.

The next place to visit will be the base of the "Children of the Atom" faction. Use fast travel to get to her faster. Now head to the southwest, where the second container will be. After reaching the shore, jump into the water and swim to the boat. There you will find what you were looking for. In the container, you will find two more parts of the “Marines Assault Armor”, and more specifically, armor for the right and left legs.

The final destination is the Grand Harbor Hotel. Find it on your map and go there. Now your task is to find the key that will open access to the nuclear submarine. Keep in mind that this submarine is located in the Core location, so go there immediately after you find the key. After arriving at this location, go to the marker on the map. The container that contains the armor on the arms will lie at the bottom. Reach him and the armor is yours.

Marine Reconnaissance Armor

So we got to the most elite version of the Marine Corps armor. You can become the owner of most of the "Marine Recon Armor" set by spending a certain amount of money from different merchants.

You can buy the helmet from the merchant Brooks, who is located in Far Harbor. By equipping your character with this armor, you will improve his "Agility" and "Perception" indicators.

Body Armor is purchased from Koga in Acadia. This part of the set will help your hero take less damage when he is standing still and not moving.

For the right hand armor that will improve your movement speed, you will have to run to Sister May, who is located at the base of the Children of the Atom faction.

Another part of the set, namely the armor for the left hand, is available for purchase from the merchant Brother Kane, who is located in the same building as Sister May. The bonus of this armor is to slow down time in combat when your character is below twenty percent health.

lifeguard suit

The underwater suit is a very useful item, as it will help you explore new areas better, as well as add new pieces to your armor collection. How to get it? You will be required to complete a series of tasks "Changing Wave". It is worth noting that completing this chain will take you a lot of time, so get ready for a long adventure. After completing all the quests, you will receive this costume. It will allow you to be under water and not think about the supply of breath. In addition, the Rescue Suit will protect you from radiation.

Now let's take a closer look at the execution of the above series of tasks. You will need to assist the following characters in Far Harbor: Little Bertha, Mitch, Captain Avery and a sailor. It is worth noting that completing these tasks will not only allow you to become the owner of the costume, but also open two new settlements. To start this series of tasks, you have to complete several others. First, complete the quest "Away from Home". After receiving and starting the next task, go to Captain Avery, who will give you the Life on the Edge quest. It involves the fulfillment of three points. The first of them is helping a sailor, the second is helping Cassie Dalton, and finally the third is helping the citizens of Far Harbor. Sailor and Cassie will give you Additional tasks, completing which you will receive another quest called "The Rite of Initiation". Completing this quest will end the "Changing Wave" chain.

Marine Corps Wetsuit

"Marine Wetsuit" can be obtained different ways. In the early stages of the game, you will have the opportunity to purchase it from the merchant Brother Kane, who is located in the main building of the Children of the Atom faction. But you will most likely like the second method, since it does not involve a purchase. As you progress through the main quest chain, you will have to solve several puzzles. Once you've done that, start looking for armor containers that are underwater just off the west coast. Before you do this, make sure you have a supply of Rad-X tablets to help you deal with the radiation. Get to the containers and pick up your new suit.

Clothing Children of the Atom

After completing the required quest and joining the "Children of the Atom" faction, you will receive these clothes.

Fisherman's suit

In the new addition, you will be able to become the owner of several fishing suits. You can buy them from a merchant named Brooks. It is located in Far Harbor. In addition, other merchants sell these costumes.

docker suit

This costume is also sold by Brooks from Far Harbor. It is inexpensive - only fifteen caps. Wearing this outfit on your character will not protect him from physical damage or radiation, however, it will increase energy resistance by ten percent.

Captain's cap

To get this hat, start the Life on the Edge quest, during which you will encounter Teddy Wright. He will give you a quest, for which the reward is in the form of a captain's hat.

Helm of the Inquisitor

You can get this helmet in the following way. First, go and complete the Witch Hunt quest. You will need to find a note for Albert, which lies in a locked chest. You can find the key to it in the next room. Carefully search the place near the bench, where the key will be waiting for you. Now you should return to the High Confessor and give him the message. During the dialogue with him, do not lie, otherwise you will not get the helmet.

Hunter clothes

On the island you will meet many hunters. Everything is simple here: kill hunters - get equipment.

Power Armor T-51

Not without an addition power armor. You can find an armor drawing at the factory, which is located in the south-central part of the island.

And again, the Sailor offers us a new adventure, for which, according to her, she has been preparing for many years, and because of her illness, it certainly cannot be postponed. This time, the crazy idea that visited our friend is the destruction of the Red Death. This huge monster, living under water, crawls out to hunt only in thick fog. People think it's just the tales of drunken sailors, but still no one goes out to sea when the fog thickens. The sailor remembered a story from her childhood - when she was little, her aunt took her swimming with her, and a thick fog suddenly rose on the sea. Then they saw a beam of violent light, with red and scarlet flashes hitting the sky! Frightened, they rushed as hard as they could. It was hard to row, but still the monsters escaped from the claws.

The sailor longs to put an end to this monster that has sunk dozens of boats. She can't wait to hunt down the Red Death and really wants to see a friend next to her - that is, a Survivor. The shipbuilder can no longer pay for the work, because all the covers went to repair the hull, so everything that happens during the Red Death will remain with us. No one has yet managed to get out alive from a skirmish with a sea monster, but many of the locals saw a red glow from afar. The shipbuilder offers to go hunting with full ammunition, and to capture weapons of mass destruction for reliability. Perhaps this is the most terrible monster that lives in the depths of the sea. The sailor warns that compared to this venture, everything else is just a walk in the park. Having gone to the pier to his boat, the Survivor sees the scene - Avery begs his girlfriend Sailor to change her mind and not go towards death, dragging us along with her. The hunt for the Red Death attracts the most desperate and has already cost the lives of many men and women.

Neither intimidation nor attempts at persuasion work, and together with the Sailor we go to the island of the Red Death. Onward towards adventure, the great hunt has begun!

Arriving at the destination, Sailor will be more agile and will be waiting for us on the shore, and ahead you can see the red flashes and the "monstrous beast" that creates them.

After talking with our friend, the huntress will be shocked by what she sees, and we can only cheer her up and decide what we will say to the inhabitants of Far Harbor. In any case, we came here with one goal - to deal with the Red Death, unfortunately, there are no other options.

For help in destroying the “monster”, the Sailor will give the Survivor the “Legend of the Harbor” costume.

Hidden in the forest of Huntress Island, shrouded in mist, stands Hunter's Manor. Once the home of the reclusive but brilliant Professor Hunter, the estate has been abandoned since his sudden, unexplained death in 1877; now it is known only to the wolves who call the forest home. Few people know what a terrible secret the estate keeps.

Back at the Far Harbor docks, a ghoul adventurer named Ronald arrives with a wooden chest. He tried shooting at it, blowing it up, resorting to the best burglars in the world, but nothing could open it. Now, having read the 19th century correspondence describing the "locked box", he believes that the secret to unlocking the box can be found in the halls of Hunter's estate. An unimportant fighter, Ronald is looking for a partner to help him uncover a secret. But some secrets are perhaps best forgotten...

This mod expands the lore of the Fallout universe, concerning "Ag-Qualtota", referenced in Dunwich Building (Fallout 3) and Dunwich Drillers (Fallout 4). The mod will add a couple of hours of new content that will take you around the Island.

Main characteristics:

  • - Ten main quests, although you can only play nine in one playthrough; there are different end quests depending on who you are with.
  • - Six types of side quests once the main story is completed, although you can only access four in a single playthrough.
  • - Ronald can be both a follower and a unique settler. He is not a controllable companion, although this means you can have him along with vanilla companions.
  • - Explore the estate. As you progress through the story of the mod, more parts of the estate will be available to you. As you explore, you can uncover much of the life of the reclusive Professor Hunter.
  • - Multiple endings. There are two main endings in the mod, each with a different set of secondary quests at the end and a different perk as a reward.
  • - There are some puzzles in the mod. If you get stuck, talk to Ronald. He will give you hints on how to solve the puzzles, and if you question him properly, he will give you the solution.

Launching the mod:
You must complete at least the first conversation with Avery and be directed to the conversation with Longfellow before you can start this mod. If you didn't disable the fog condensers, you can find Ronald in Far Harbor. If you have destroyed Far Harbor you can still play the mod, in which case Ronald can be found in a small camp on the road east of the Core.

Update: 1.6

  • - Ronald is now in command.
  • - Made changes to scenes to reduce the chance of them not being played (increased the distance the player is allowed to move away from the actors).

Update: 1.5

  • - Loyalty level requirements have been lowered compared to the previous update.

Update: 1.3

  • - Added a small addition to the ending. If you side with Ag-Qualthoth at the end of the mod and complete enough of his quests to earn maximum loyalty, he will keep the promise he made you in the vision...
