Display fps in ks. Increase fps in CS:GO. Enabling FPS display in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Do you want to increase FPS in CS:GO? This article contains working and proven tools for boosting computer performance in the game.

Why does FPS drop?

Every year CS:GO becomes more and more demanding on the characteristics of the computer. Game update, expansion of some maps often results in FPS drop on computers of even average configurations. In general, we can say that the game is becoming more demanding.
Also, the drop in FPS may be related to the characteristics and settings of the computer: programs, video cards, performance settings.

We got the opinion of advanced players, studied in detail the recommendations of some players on REDDIT and made working recommendations for increasing FPS for CS:GO. We deliberately did not add information about specialized software and other dubious, in our opinion, ways to increase FPS.

Removing unnecessary programs

It is immediately recommended not to install various boosters and other optimizing programs, all they do is set the priority of the game and disable unnecessary processes.
We will do all this manually, not to mention that the boosters themselves use a lot of memory.

Reinstalling Windows

The first thing to start optimizing your computer for CS:GO is reinstalling Windows. The main performance problem is the presence of unnecessary processes in the computer. The longer you work in the operating system, the more processes you generate. If you haven't reinstalled Windows for a long time, do it to minimize the number of unnecessary processes.
After reinstalling your hardware will work faster and more dynamically.

Installing video card drivers

After reinstalling Windows we need to install the drivers we need.

Adjusting graphics card settings

Consider the two most popular video cards for which game settings can be applied in CS: GO and for many other games.

Go to the video card control panel on the desktop by clicking right click mouse in a free part of the screen.

Select "Adjusting Picture Settings" tab "3d Options". Then choose "Custom Settings" and set to maximum performance.

Also in tab "User settings" you should turn off anti-aliasing, set filtering to performance.

For AMD graphics cards

Right click on the desktop and open .
Go to the tab "games" and choose "Global Settings". Then set the settings as shown in the screenshot.

Configuring game launch options

  • open STEAM library, then select CS:GO "properties" "set launch options" and paste the command data into the line:
-novid- Removes the in-game splash screen
-high- Sets a high priority for the game
    -freq x (60, 75, 120, 144)hz- Monitor refresh rate.
  • -high-Starts the game with high priority.
  • -threads<кол-во ядер/потоков>-The number of cores or threads (if your processor supports Hyper-threading technology) of the processor that the game can use.
  • -processheap- Allows you to fix a bug with a sharp decrease in FPS, which appears if the game is running for a long time.
  • -nod3d9ex- Reduces memory consumption and speeds up switching between windows (alt+tab)
  • -noaafonts- Removes font smoothing.
  • -nojoy- Removes gamepad/joystick support.
  • -lv-Starts the game in reduced violence mode.
  • +exec autoexec-Runs a .cfg file with commands to increase FPS

To ensure maximum performance, it is recommended to set the following graphic settings:

In the "Start" panel, select "Computer", in the window that opens, right-click in an empty space and go to the "properties" tab. In the window that opens, click "Advanced system settings" and then "Settings". Uncheck all checkboxes in the list - this will remove modern look your operating system, but will greatly improve performance.

In order to find out if you have unlocked all processor cores, press the key combination Win+R and in the line that appears, enter “msconfig”. Go to the tab and click "Extra options", after which we set the maximum number of available processors.

AT "control panel" find “equipment and sound” and select “power supply”, in the window that opens, set the item "High performance".

Open the windows prompt with a keyboard shortcut Win+R and put in the line “msconfig”, in the window that opens, select the tab
and uncheck all programs that you do not consider important.

If you have an SSD drive, then skip this step.
open "My computer", then right-click on the disk where it is located COP/Windows and then "properties", find the tab "service" and choose “perform defragmentation..” and "Disk Defragmenter".

Cleaning the PC from dust and replacing the thermal paste of the processor

The last stage of optimization is to clean the computer from dust and replace the thermal paste (IF IT IS NECESSARY), this will reduce the temperature of the components and increase the stability of the work. Lowering the temperature may remove some FPS drawdowns in games.
In this article, we have collected proven and working ways to increase FPS in CS:GO.

FPS - Frames Per Second - the number of frames per second. FPS is a consequence of the work of all components of the processor, RAM, video card, etc. The normal FPS for games is different - for shooters it is 60+ FPS, but in RPGs you can ride 30+ (although convenient FPS is different for everyone). FPS comparison (60, 30 and 15):

How to see FPS in CS:GO?

This is not difficult to do, you just need to open the console (by default it is the “e” key on the Russian keyboard layout) and write (without quotes) “net_graph 1”. In the lower right corner you will see the following:

Near the inscription “fps” your current FPS will be displayed.

Why is FPS so important?

Hello, this is eZstah and in this guide we will go through absolutely all the possible and impossible ways raise FPS and in the end we will find out if they work at all. Let's go!

It's worth starting with the fact that CS:GO is a game, the main concept of which is competition between players who are on an equal footing.
Sounds good in theory, but is it true in practice? Let's figure it out.

In total, there are two factors that call into question this whole concept of equal conditions and fairness:

Factor 1:

The physical location of the player and his distance from the servers.
Simply put, ping and connection quality in general. Despite the fact that the game engine includes a Lag Compensation mechanism, which is also designed to compensate for the difference in ping, it still cannot offer any really working solution to this problem. Players with low ping somehow have an advantage over players with higher ones. And unfortunately nothing can be done about it. In addition to moving closer to the servers, somewhere in Europe.

Factor 2:

The game client and directly the computer on which it runs.
If in the case of ping and your location it is hardly possible to do something, then here there are a lot of opportunities, there are so many of them that I had to specially select only the most effective of the methods, the effectiveness of which we will now check.

Testing methods for raising FPS

For the test, we will use the FPS Benchmark card.
The meaning of the test is quite simple, in a fully automatic mode we are moved across a map oversaturated with bots, flash drives, smokes and chickens, while measuring the average FPS, which is displayed in the console upon completion of the test. However, in addition to the average value, we are interested in knowing both the minimum and maximum fps. Therefore, download, install Fraps, before the button to start the test, click F11 so that he starts counting FPS and we pass the test. When finished, also press F11. In the fraps itself, in the FPS tab, the path is indicated in which the text file with the data will be saved: C:\Fraps\Benchmarks I will be testing on my main desktop computer, the config of which is the following:Operating system: Windows 10 64bit
CPU: Intel Core i7 4770 3.4Ghz
Video card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660
RAM: 12GB 1600hz

First, the test was carried out with the settings and conditions under which I usually play. The results are:

  • Avg: 171 – Min: 18 – Max: 438

Dust removal

And so, the first thing I did was the good old and years-proven cleaning of the computer from dust and dirt, in the performance of which there is absolutely no doubt. The accumulation of dust impairs air circulation and as a result, computer components heat up or even overheat, which naturally leads to a loss in performance. Luckily, my computer was pretty clean, so the dust had no effect on the subsequent FPS test.

  • Avg: 170 – Min: 17 – Max: 440

Driver update

A trivial, but sometimes very effective method. History knows real cases when updating sound drivers gave some crazy increases of 40-50% FPS. This was naturally due to bugs and driver conflicts, but nonetheless. You never know. The easiest way to quickly update drivers is to download any of the special software that automatically checks and downloads drivers. I used Driver Booster. You can use any other one you like. In my case, the result was minimal. If this meager allowance can be called that.

  • Avg: 174 – Min: 17 – Max: 450

Computer settings

This is a direct adjustment of the entire system. In the windows control panel, change the power plan to "High Performance". Moving further in the performance parameters of the system “we provide the best performance”, no matter how strange it may sound. Next in the control panel of your graphics card, in my case it's Nvidia. In the 3D options, change the settings to maximum performance.

I have Windows 10, so unlocking the CPU is not needed, but if suddenly you still have seven, then with the help of Coder Bag this is done in just two clicks. Unlocking at its core is nothing more than closing the garage where the system parks the processor cores when they are not needed, thus keeping them always ready. Before that, my video card worked in “balance” mode, so changing the performance scheme really gave a noticeable increase in FPS.

  • Avg: 187 – Min: 17 – Max: 490

Clearing memory

Here we also need additional software, the so-called CCleaner.
With this program, you can quickly and conveniently delete temporary files, which in some cases, depending on the dirtiness of the computer, can theoretically affect the performance of games.

Click "Analyze" and wait a few seconds, after that the program will analyze your PC and you will see a list of files that you can clean. Click "Clean" and again wait a few seconds.

Done, trash removed. Now you can clean up the registry. Select the registry tab and click "Search for problems", wait a few seconds and click "Fix". The program will offer to make a backup copy, it's up to you to decide (for several years of using this program, I had no problems with this).

After that, go to the "Service" section and delete the programs that we do not use, then go to the "Startup" tab and remove unnecessary programs from startup. We won’t need CCleaner on this one anymore, but don’t rush to remove it, clean your PC from debris from time to time.

Delete temporary files:

Cleaning up the registry:

We remove everything from autorun except the most necessary:

We go to the desktop, delete or transfer all files from it, instead of the wallpaper, select a solid color in the personalization settings. Well, actually we are testing the FPS in the counter-structure. Specifically, in my case, 2 frames can be safely called nothing more than an error.

  • Avg: 189 – Min: 17 – Max: 489

Game settings

It so happened that I'm used to playing in FullHD (1920 × 1080) resolution, so I won't change this parameter, but I set all other standard video settings to a minimum.

Below you will see what you need to write in them:

-novid Removes splash screen on startup
-noaafonts Remove font smoothing
-threads 2 Number of threads on your processor (2,4,8 etc)
-tickrate 128 (tickrate on your server)
-console Turns on the console in the game
-high Starts the game with high priority
-freq 60 Refresh rate of your monitor (50, 60, 120, 144 etc)
-nod3d9ex1 Minimizes the game quickly
-dxlevel 90 Starts the game with DirectX 9.0 (you can put 81 and you will have DX 8.1)
+cl_cmdrate 128 Number of packets sent on the server
+cl_updaterate 128 Number of requested packages on the server

In launch options add -high(raises process priority) -nojoy (disables joystick support), -threads 8(number of threads of my processor) and -novid(to turn off the splash screen). Now in autoexec.cfg add the following lines:

cl_disablehtmlmotd "1"- disable announcement for
cl_forcepreload "1"– includes map preloading
mat_queue_mode "2"- forces to use multithreading

And a few commands that reduce the impact of character cosmetics on performance:

r_eyegloss "0"
r_eyemove "0"
r_eyeshift_x "0"
r_eyeshift_y "0"
r_eyeshift_z "0"
r_eyesize "0"

In the end autoexec.cfg add host_writeconfig for the config to take effect, run and test the FPS. Not bad, the average boost is almost 20 fps, and the maximum is 60.

  • Avg: 208 – Min: 16 – Max: 554

Closing programs and services

Now I will close absolutely all programs and services except for the Control Struct and run the last test. Chrome, in which I write the script, the results and the structure of this guide, as it turned out, ate quite a lot of productivity.

  • Avg: 218 – Min: 17 – Max: 642

Despite my skepticism, the totality of all these so-called tweaks turned out to be not as useless as I initially thought. But of course, not as effective as it is presented by various guides on the Internet, Steam and YouTube. In my case, the average FPS was raised by 27% , and the maximum, in turn, on integers 46% . It is clear that the maximum fps, especially when we are talking about such numbers is much less important than the average. Tests by tests, and in real games on 128 tick servers, on the same Cache, in game moments in which there were many players and several smokes, my FPS dropped noticeably from 300 to 100, and sometimes even lower.

What will happen now, with all these settings? On the clean map, without a single enemy, the FPS stays around three or four hundred, but it’s worth throwing 1 smok as it sharply sags by almost a whole hundred, not to mention two smoks and some kind of Molotov. Again, I note that there is no one else on the map except me. That is, the main problem that bothered me the most - the FPS drawdown, all these tweaks did not solve, but I don’t see the point of increasing the maximum FPS at all. In short, it was foolish to count on a miracle.

New graphics card

Still, whatever one may say, the most efficient way to raise the FPS and the quality of the game in general is to upgrade the hardware. I bought this computer about 5 years ago and in general I am satisfied that it was enough. Technology does not stand still and a lot has changed in these 5 years. Video cards have become much more powerful and prices, even despite the exchange rate crisis, are more than adequate. Guys with 10-year-old video cards invest ten thousand rubles in the peripherals of a computer that is not exactly 100, it barely even pulls 40FPS. Mice, keyboards, headphones, monitors are certainly good and cool, but this should never, in any reality, be a priority for investing money. Moreover, a video card is an investment for several years, with which you can even play new games. Which I can't afford right now.

Test results

That is, what conclusions can be drawn:

1 – Keep your computer clean
2 – Do not litter the memory with any dubious programs
3 – Upgrade Hardware, Not Peripherals
4 – Don't believe the big headlines trying to cash in on you

It turned out quite emotionally, but I really don’t burn so weakly from how strong marketing is gaming brands brainwashed people.

And that's all, write the results of your tests in the comments

Interesting fact- CS 1.6 can slow down even on very powerful PCs, despite the fact that the game has very modest, by modern standards, system requirements. So how to increase fps in cs 1.6? There are quite a few ways, most of them affect the in-game console, but some involve the use of third-party software, which can be very risky, so you should not consider such options.

The FPS itself, or Frames per Second, or the frame rate per second, is highly dependent on the performance of the computer. In some games, the processor plays a leading role, somewhere the graphics card is heavily loaded. At high values, all objects move much more smoothly, which allows you to quickly respond to various situations. That's why it's important to keep an eye on your PC to prevent slowdowns. In addition, there is no anti-aliasing parameter in the CS, which also has a big impact not only on the gameplay, but also on the player's ability to adjust other parameters to increase the frame rate.

Another important factor is the speed of the Internet - with poor ping, some of the packets are lost, which causes freezes and lags, and then a drop in FPS. So it is best to play on servers with good and stable ping up to 70 ms, if it is higher, then shooting becomes not very comfortable, and the right of the first shot passes to the enemy, since his hits will be processed first.

How to raise FPS in CS 1.6

The first thing to do is to enter into the console net graph 3. After that, a counter will appear at the bottom of the screen. As a rule, it does not exceed 60 FPS, which is the standard for most modern games. However, full-fledged and comfortable shooting is difficult in this case, so this value must be overclocked. So how to increase fps in cs 1.6 there are several ways, it is recommended to use them all. In the case of low-power computers, it is worth considering the option of lowering the screen resolution, which will allow you to win 5-10 FPS, depending on the PC configuration.

Further, in order to get a serious performance boost, you need to disable vertical sync in the game settings. For this you need:
  1. Go to "Settings".
  2. Open the Video tab.
  3. Uncheck the "Vertical Sync" box.

In fact, vsync sets a maximum limit of 60 FPS, while duplicating every rendered frame at the same time. As a result, where there could potentially be 100 FPS, there will be only 60, but rendered twice. Because of this, in most games it is recommended to turn it off, and the CS is no exception to the rule here.

If the disable checkboxes vertical sync no, it will need to be disabled through the graphics card settings, or by changing the parameters of the game shortcut, simply entering the desired parameter there.

After these steps, the FPS level should increase quite well, but the problems do not end there, because the image may twitch, or graphic artifacts may appear. The limitation on the frame rate is removed by entering the command developer 1, after which it is entered fps_max 150. Alternatively for new builds - just type fps_override 1, after which you can admire the high FPS without much subsidence. In general, the fps_max command allows you to overclock the frame rate to any value, which depends only on the power of the player's computer.

In the future, you can choose the most comfortable value yourself, but you should know that the initial maximum FPS level supported by the game is 100, and if you cancel this limit, you should carefully increase it, at the same time you can find out how powerful the computer is. Now, the question how to increase fps in cs 1.6? can be considered solved as the most reliable and safest way to raise it without potential PC time has been provided here.

Conclusion

As you can see, there are many ways to increase FPS in Counter Strike 1.6. In case you don't want to mess with the settings and other actions, then you can simply from our site, where the config will already be installed with all the settings for maximum FPS. Enjoy the game and great FPS to you!

FPS, it is the frame rate, it is also frames per second - this is one of the most pressing problems for most players in cs go. Despite its advanced age, cs go is still one of the most demanding on hardware. online games, so the console commands for fps boost usually come in very handy. First, let's figure out how to show or enable fps in cs go:

cl_showfps 1 - this console command simply shows a dynamic fps indicator in the upper left corner.
cl_showfps 5 - will show a little more information. You will be able to see which of the elements is causing the FPS drop - the processor or the GPU (video card). Pretty useful when you're trying to figure out the reason for poor performance. However, playing with such an indicator is not very convenient - keep this in mind.
net_graph 1 - this cs go console command shows not only fps, but also several other useful things - loss and choke, by which you can determine if there is a packet loss; rates, which are always 64 in regular matchmaking (and 128 on normal servers) and much more. Plus, this team, in my opinion, is the least distracting from gameplay so that's why I use it.
And below are the commands that will really help increase fps in cs go and make the game more comfortable:

cl_disable_ragdolls 1 is a cs go console command that will help with frame rate during training. Often, when 3-4 smoke lies, it becomes noticeable that the FPS sags. This command will remove physics from cs go Ragdoll. True, it only works with sv_cheats 1.
dsp_slow_cpu 1 - similar to the previous command, it will help you increase performance at the expense of a slight decrease in sound quality. +50 fps guaranteed.
mat_disable_bloom 1 - using this command for cs go we disable unnecessary bloom effect. Another +50 fps minimum.
r_drawparticles 0 - another command to increase the frame rate in cs go. Removes almost all animation - shots, water splashes, etc.
func_break_max_pieces 0 - we remove any garbage, like barrels, fragments, chips from boxes, etc.
mat_queue_mode 2 - enable multi-core processing. It only helps if you have a processor with more than 1 core.
muzzleflash_light 0 - disable dynamic light from flashes.
r_eyemove 0 - disables the mobility of the eyes of the players.
r_eyegloss 0 - Disables eye glitter for players.
fps_max - with this command, you can limit or, on the contrary, remove the limit from the maximum number of fps that cs go can give out. There are cases when the lack of FPS is a consequence of the work of this particular team. Also, this console command can be useful if your fps jumps too much and you want to limit these jumps - just select the desired value and the drawdowns will not be so noticeable.
fps_max 0 - Removes the FPS limit, thereby adding "Hidden" FPS to you, I advise you to set fps_max 60.
Personally, this way the map loads faster, and there are less lags.

The concept of FPS stands for Frames per Second or the number of frames per second. The FPS indicator in CS GO, along with ping, is one of the main specifications that affect the quality of your game. That is why you should always keep your FPS under control. In this article, we will figure out how to set up FPS display in CS:GO, and what it does (what aspects of the game it affects).

How to enable FPS display in CS:GO

FPS in CS:GO is enabled by a console command. Rather, it can be turned on even with two different ones:

cl_showfps 1 // shows the FPS value in the upper left corner of the screen

net_graph 1 // displays video signal indicators, including FPS, in the lower right corner.

Show FPS with cl_showfps 1 command

You can change the size of the net_graph display area and the display side with the commands:

net_graphwidth 64 // the larger the number, the larger the area
net_graphos 1 // shown in the left corner, with a value of 0 in the right

Which of these methods to use to see the FPS is up to you. As for me, the second option is more convenient,. but that's just my personal preference.

You can remove the display of FPS with the same commands in the console, setting them to 0 instead of one.

What FPS in CS:GO can be considered normal?

The higher the FPS (Frame Rate on your screen), the better for you. But if we talk about numbers, what FPS in CS GO will be considered acceptable?

With a normal ping, 80 FPS should be enough for you. This is far from ideal, but quite tolerable. Of course, it is desirable that your FPS be 100 or more. On modern high-performance PCs, you can reach 200, but for a full-fledged game this is absolutely not necessary.

Another thing is when your FPS is less than it should be, for example, 50 or even 30. With this indicator, it is almost impossible to play, and we see on the screen something more reminiscent of a slide show than CS:GO. How to increase the FPS in CS:GO is a topic for a completely separate discussion. Read about it at the link.

That's all. Today we learned how to watch your FPS using console commands CS GO. Read the CS GO settings section for more useful information.
