This game is very ancient, apparently still of common Slavic origin, since it is known to almost all Slavs as their original folk game.

For several centuries, the game "Burners" was one of the most common and favorite games of the Russian people. It has survived in many places to this day. This game was often and vividly portrayed in Russian art, especially in literature (A. S. Pushkin, L. N. Tolstoy and others).

They play on a lawn, a platform with a length of at least 20-30 m (15-25 or more teenagers or boys and girls).

Description. The participants, divided into pairs (usually in a pair - a boy with a girl or a boy with a girl), join hands. Pairs become one after another a string (column). Ahead, 3-5 m from the first pair, there is a “burner” (leader). Everyone speaks in unison:

Rules.

  1. The "burner" has no right to look back and peep which pair is going to run past him. Otherwise, the couple prepared to run can change the queue with another couple or places with each other.

Game types.
