"Symbiont" was awarded the title of "The most non-standard project of KRI 2008". As you remember, Turgor received this award in 2007 and Mor. Utopia" in 2005 - games that really managed to amaze us.

There is no reason to compare these three projects with each other, three games of different genres, not at all similar to each other. Let's turn directly to Symbiont. How will he surprise us - with an extremely original plot, a completely new gameplay, or completely unusual finds? Let's try to figure it out.

The epigraph is only two-thirds true of Symbiont. The aliens flew to Moscow, devoured almost all the inhabitants, but did not fly away. In 2008, our planet was visited by the cosmic Swarm - an alien race that includes many species and is invulnerable to earthly weapons. So in vain people tried to destroy the intruders with nuclear bombs - they only spoiled their native landscape, turning the achievements of civilization into radioactive ruins. People hide in basements, shelters and the subway, and alien monsters walk around Moscow like at home and even built an underground base for themselves.

The game begins with the fact that the hero suddenly woke up in the middle of GUM, killed the aliens, shot the military just in case, turned green and grew a huge clawed paw. Who he is - does not remember what to do - does not know. So, we need to move forward - in search of answers to these and other questions. Find a cure, save the Earth, figure everything out. Oh, it's not easy for us...

...Excursion around Moscow

The developers promised to show us a reliable Moscow. With only one significant difference - aliens run around the city and break everything in their path. The idea is rich. The battle in the Kremlin, at the All-Russian Exhibition Center, opposite the Moscow State University - isn't it interesting? Yes, many will be interested in the project for the sake of scenery alone. So, we are going on a sightseeing tour of the city.

Where to start a tour of the capital? “From Red Square,” thousands of tourists will answer in unison. I would like, of course, to look at the aliens under the walls of the Mausoleum, but there is no “visiting card” of the capital in the game. The Kremlin is shown to us only on the screensaver. “Well,” the tourists do not lose heart, “then let's see the legendary Moscow metro.” We look. It's dark, long railroad tracks, blue trailers, two gray staff rooms. Moscow? Can not argue. However, the atmosphere here is gloomy - which, in essence, is quite justified. Now let's visit the alien base. We go down a hundred meters down, then we run through the dungeon, and here it is: blood-red walls, green mounds, branchy alien plants ... Convincing.

So, everyone is safe after descending to the aliens? So, we will continue our route - now along the streets of Moscow. Take a look, dozens of mangled products of the domestic automobile industry are lying around, broken lanterns are preparing to fall, and Khrushchev buildings stand unshakably. Recognizable? Without a doubt. I saw the same streets in Krasnodar, Sochi, St. Petersburg... and if you think about it, then in Half-Life 2. What exactly remains in the game of the capital, unmistakably recognizable? Only one GUM. Yes, it looks like the original, it is even light in it (which is rather unusual for a game), but it is badly destroyed. It will be difficult to understand which rooms are in front of us, which turns we run through. As a result, the only thing that definitely reminds of a department store is a fountain.

Tour of virtual Moscow did not take place. We still see it in the screensavers, but in the game, alas, the scene is rather conditional. However, who said that the originality of the game lies precisely in the sights of the capital? Let's go back to the fighter we left behind. It seems that this is where the peculiarity of the project is hidden. Our hero...

...An alien with a Russian soul

Why is our character a symbiote? Yes, because he can exchange genes with hostile aliens and receive special abilities from them. So our enemies are not only enemies, but also a resource. Mutations affect both the appearance of the hero and his weapons, and they also affect the attitude of those around him. In fact, this is exactly the main feature of the game.

It is interesting: dictionary S. I. Ozhegova informs us that symbiosis is the cohabitation of two organisms different types, which usually brings them mutual benefit. well and symbiont is an organism that participates in symbiosis.

“Wow, what green hands!”

At the very beginning, our character is an ordinary soldier, but from the very first killed alien he receives alien genes and begins to mutate. Approximately ten minutes after the start of the game, the hero grows a clawed green paw, then the face is covered with scales. However, these are only the first signs of a mutation. By the middle of the game, a sword and a Kalashnikov assault rifle grow into the hands of a fighter, and by the end he practically does not differ from other aliens - spargo.

And the less the hero looks like a person, the stronger he is. Together with the new appearance, we also get alien skills - time dilation, energy shield, quick health regeneration, improved vision, and more.

Unusual? Yes. Perhaps revolutionary? In no case. This system has been around for many years.

Let's remember any action movie - for example, the same Half-Life 2. As we progress, we come across a new weapon that gradually changes game process. New tactics appear, the level structure changes. In Symbiont, the process is largely the same. But the developers saved on guns - most of the game we run with a sword and a machine gun. So, perhaps, the innovation of "Symbiont" in the external transformation of the hero? But that also happened. For example, in fable system changes was even more developed. There, the character changed not because the level passed, but solely due to actions. And we saw the gradual transformation of a hero into an enemy back in Quake 4.

From these cocoons the hero draws health, energy and genetic blocks.

However, there is still one feature of the game that I have not met before. This is a system for managing the development of the main character using DNA chains, implemented as a mini-game. He will mutate in any case, such is his harsh game fate - but we can control the direction of mutations by developing certain abilities.

As the game progresses, we come across alien cocoons that contain gene codes, as well as other useful elements that restore life and energy. The hero's skills are improved by combining his genes with alien genes. The genetic blocks that we collect in the process come in about a dozen varieties - take a look at the picture. And the actual manipulation of DNA occurs in this way.

A small field consisting of hexagons opens. It has about four green and four red genes. It is necessary to connect them using assembled blocks. At first glance - nothing complicated, but not too simple, so you will soon be happy to spend time on this mini-game. It allows the spinal cord to rest and gives the brain a chance to express itself.

Well, the feature is interesting, although the presence of a mini-game as such can hardly be considered a non-standard move. Mini-games are present in almost all Asian projects, even in MMORPGs. So why was Symbiont awarded at the KWI? Is it just for...

...Potential for non-standard?

Perhaps, among the projects of this year, there simply wasn’t one that would get the title of “non-standard” unconditionally, without doubts and hesitations? And "Symbiont" turned out, on the one hand, to be unusual enough to at least claim it - but on the other hand, alas, not so original as not to raise questions: why, in fact?

An embarrassing situation. “If you read the inscription “buffalo” on an elephant’s cage, don’t believe your eyes,” advised Kozma Prutkov. So we don’t know what exactly to believe - the inscription or the content, honestly trying to discern non-standard in Symbiont, instead of just enjoying a good action movie.

Although the potential of "Symbiont" was. If the developers set out to make the game really deserving of the title of "non-standard project", they could, for example ... extend it. Look what we have: our fighter destroys aliens throughout the game. At first, however, he also has to kill people, but then they recognize him as a brother and even help a little. We are constantly moving forward, in search of a cure for mutation and an alien boss. As a result, we do not find an antidote, but we destroy the main alien and take his place. What's next?

But nothing. Thank you for not having to flee from under the rubble of the alien base, urgently scrambling from the Earth. For ten years now, we have been running like crazy in various finals - the developers, apparently, consider this the best reward for the winner. But in "Symbiont" we were not forced to run, and the base did not collapse. And the game is not over. The hero said that he, they say, is now the main one, but the screen did not go out and we were not shown credits. We just got one more skill - and the ability to further destroy aliens, an occupation for about an hour more.

There was something similar in Quake 4, but there, after the transformation of the hero into a strogg, we still had a lot of things to do before we put an end to the story. In "Symbiont", she suggested herself here. But since it does not exist, why not go even further, turn the ideology of the game upside down?

Our hero is a mutant, and he will no longer be a man. Shouldn't he become the Black Lord in this case... that is, excuse me, the master of aliens and the enemy of mankind? That would be an interesting plot twist! How refreshing that would be! new tactics, new plot and the locations are completely different. Let's say a battle on Red Square against the presidential regiment and the guard of honor... What's it like?

Modern non-standard

We've talked a lot here about the award that Symbiont received at KWI 2008. However, it's hard to judge the winner if you don't know his opponents. So let's take a look at those who could snatch the award from the alien hands of the brave hero - but did not.

The main competitor is "Eugene Onegin" (a visual novel made in anime style). So far, the most remarkable thing about the game is its website. On it, developers praise themselves, insult visitors and post the first pictures from the game. The game itself, most likely, will be at the level of the Red Space project from the same developers. His rating among the players does not exceed 50%.

The second rival is Underwater Wars. Here short description plot: "When terrorists and war criminals come to power and the blood of innocent victims flows like a river ... Democracy is in danger - it's time to act!". The picture is clear, but what is the unusual project? The developers have relied on battles under water. Moreover, they are in no hurry to clarify how exciting it will be to fight at the bottom of the sea. All their press releases are about one thing - the game will be beautiful. But we, frankly, have already seen enough of the palm trees and the blue ocean ...

Summing up, let's say: there were simply no truly non-standard games on the KRI. However, there were never many of them ...

We will not blame the developers for the fact that the box with the game says "The most non-standard project." They did not invent the reward themselves and are no more to blame for this than, for example, Kozma Prutkov. But in fact, we have a very ordinary action movie in which you can perfectly combine melee and ranged combat and use a variety of tactics thanks to your skills. And the fighter is pretty good.

First of all, let's take a closer look at the hero. Let's get acquainted with his skills and weapons. Here I will try to give advice on the easiest way to pass the levels, using all the tricks of a fighter.

Let's just say about two characteristics that the hero has. it health and energy. The first one determines the amount of damage that a fighter can receive. The second is spent on the use of skills. And if health can be restored by itself, then energy has to be drawn from the bodies of aliens and cocoons.

Skills

We will analyze the hero's abilities in the order they appear in the game.

Symbiosisgives the ability to absorb life force from the bodies of aliens. In addition, it allows you to interact with alien mechanisms and read genetic information.

The skill is useful in that it allows you to replenish your energy supply right in battle. They killed the alien, sucked all the juice out of him and ran on. Especially useful in those places where there are not enough cocoons.

It is important: at the beginning of the game, the benefits of symbiosis are minimal. There is nowhere to spend energy, and replenishing health with the help of the corpses of enemies is not very convenient. First aid kits are more convenient to use. But then, when you have the skills "rage" and "shield", it will be very difficult to fight without symbiosis.

The red genes in the skill are responsible for restoring health, while the green genes are responsible for energy. I advise you to first develop the green part of the genes, and only then move on to the red ones.

The look of someone elseallows you to see in the dark, notice invisible enemies and signs of aliens left on the walls. Moreover, the activation of one additional red gene makes it possible to see all useful objects and weapons, and two at once - to see spargs and detectors that install streamers.

If you actively swing your paws, then most of the battle the screen will look like this.

Not a very useful skill. Yes, sometimes the game is so dark that it is difficult to move without the “look of an alien”. However, for the sake of "night vision" alone, the skill may not be developed. All sorts of useful things are clearly visible to the human eye. Actually, like disappearing aliens. I had no problems finding them. You can use the skill, but you shouldn't spend blocks on it.

Evolutionincreases the supply of energy and health, and also accelerates the regeneration of the latter.

The skill is very useful. The more health and energy, the better, you can't argue. But at the beginning of the game, there are not enough blocks for “evolution”, so get ready to run with standard indicators for the first time.

Rageallows for some time (until the energy runs out or until you turn off the ability yourself) to fall into an animal state, like alien hounds. This increases reaction and melee damage. In addition, each successful hit on the enemy replenishes part of the character's health.

The most useful skill in the game. Appears quite early, and then the whole game serves as the main assistant in passing levels. First, as stated in the description, it allows you to restore health. This makes it very difficult for the enemy to hit you, especially if he uses a ranged weapon. During the "rage" everything in the world moves very slowly and you can easily notice the movement of projectiles. And when you run up to the enemy, you just have to go behind his back and inflict two or three blows - as they say, the client is ready.

It is important: do not forget that in this mode it is very easy to cut the enemy into small pieces, after which it will no longer be possible to drain his energy. So act carefully, and if several enemies are fighting against you, then get out of the "rage" to replenish energy.

Red genes reduce damage taken while in a rage, and also increase health regeneration. Green genes simply reduce energy consumption. But it is necessary to develop both directions, and as soon as possible. Still, "rage" greatly facilitates the life of a fighter.

It is important: the bulk of the energy is spent during the launch of the skill. Therefore, do not switch it unnecessarily.

energy shieldpartially absorbs melee attacks, but is designed for ranged combat. With the development of two red genes, it allows you to reflect absolutely any type of projectile, from simple bullets to the fiery breath of enemies. At the same time, the shield not only absorbs damage, but also reflects projectiles (where exactly is chosen by the player using the scope). With the development of the green gene, with the help of a shield, you can pass by stretch marks.

Good skill. With it, it is quite easy to kill almost all human enemies. The main thing is to aim accurately. The more enemies, the better. Three fighters shoot at you - which means one of them will receive a colossal portion of lead in return. But I categorically do not recommend using a shield in close combat, here it is only harmful.

It is important: with a shield, you can walk indefinitely - it consumes energy only during the reflection of damage.

Does it need to be developed? Without a doubt. Red genes make the shield wider, and it will be much easier for you to defend against several opponents at once. And green genes reduce energy consumption and allow you to better absorb damage.

It is important: the shield cannot absorb all the damage inflicted by the enemy. Therefore, the character still loses health, even if the energy shield is fully developed. Do not forget about it and be especially careful when fighting aliens who have huge machine guns in their hands.

Swarm Weaponallows you to turn the character into a real death machine, into a fighter who can compete with the best alien soldiers.

The energy field perfectly protects the alien from bullets.

Pretentious description, but in fact everything is quite simple. By developing this skill, the hero deals more damage with the help of an energy gun and energy grenades. At the same time, red genes increase damage, and green genes increase reload speed.

In principle, it is not necessary to develop this ability at all. Especially green genes. The activation of the Reds is at least somehow justified, since we rarely shoot from a strange energy gun, but still sometimes we shoot.

Disconnecting from Roythe creature chosen by the player ceases to feel like a part of the Swarm and begins to actively destroy its fellows until the Swarm's defense system works and the alien self-destructs.

The last skill that we get after we killed the main alien on Earth. The ability is just amazing. It must be immediately developed to the maximum, and then you will become invincible. It consumes little energy, has a long duration and allows you to go through the rest of the game with little to no battles. But you can not go to extremes, but make yourself two assistants. Destroying aliens together is much more fun. The main thing is not to walk next to them, because when they explode, the effect is like from an exploding grenade. Damage is comparable.

Red genes increase the creature's lifespan, while green genes increase energy consumption.

It is important: a friendly creature, if hit, immediately becomes hostile.

Weapon

The abundance of skills affected the number of weapons. It is quite small. We actively use only two types. However, you can limit yourself to even one. Although no one prevents us from using the machine gun, sword, grenades and energy grenades for our own pleasure. There is just no motivation.

The weapon is not accidentally assigned to the "anatomy" section, since our main weapon is the parts of the hero's body. We have a very self-sufficient character.

Wrench- The hero's first weapon. With it, you can somehow kill weak monsters. At the first opportunity it is necessary to change the key to a saber.

Saber- The second melee weapon. About half of the game serves us as is, then it grows into the hero's hand and turns into the next type of weapon.

Chitin Claws- deal massive damage and kill a human in one hit, and most aliens in two or three. Especially useful claws in rage mode. With them we can destroy crowds of aliens. Even three or four aliens standing near you die almost instantly. The main thing is to accurately calculate the impact and turn around as often as possible.

The claws can also deliver the finishing blow. With it, you instantly kill the enemy and drain energy and health from him. It's quite easy to land this blow - you need to press the "E" button without being enraged. A very effective method to deal with a group of opponents is also because during the final blow, all other aliens do not touch you.

The machine gun is extremely inaccurate. Get closer to the enemy.

Kick- practically does not cause damage, repels the enemy and breaks barricades. Doesn't work at all and is completely useless. I personally reassigned the button with this blow. Still didn't have to use it.

Kalashnikov assault rifle- remains the only ranged weapon for a long time. Using it against aliens is a waste. 20-30 rounds are spent on one weak enemy. As a result, the enemy manages to run to the hero and take away half of his health.

It's easier to kill people with a machine gun. Although the accuracy still leaves much to be desired. Usually you have to send ten bullets into the void and five more into the enemy. The local soldiers, apparently, have become so hardened in the fight against aliens that simple lead, moving faster than sound, no longer bothers them.

Shotgun- An almost useless weapon. To use a shotgun, you need to throw away the machine gun, but in this case, it will not work against human enemies. They are not aliens, they do not want to come close. Therefore, you should not take a shotgun - although it kills aliens well.

energy gun- after the mutation, the machine gun or shotgun grows into the hero's hand and turns into this weapon. It doesn't need ammo, it recharges itself. On the one hand, this is good - you can always engage in long-range combat, and you do not have to run around the level in search of ammo. On the other hand, the gun overheats very quickly, so it will not work to shoot from it like from a machine gun.

grenades- are rarely used. Firstly, they are difficult to find, and secondly, they are inconvenient to use. Either the spaces are too closed, or vice versa - we are almost in the middle of the field. And the aliens rarely hide in such a way that they have to be smoked out with grenades. As a rule, they just rush at us, and we use their claws, claws...

energy grenades It's more fun than useful. Toward the end of the game, the hero gets the ability to roll (namely roll: he sits on his knee and gently launches a wheel grenade) a new type of weapon at the enemy. The energy grenade does not damage the character. Therefore, we can conveniently stand near the wall and destroy all the monsters moving towards us.

Domestic games, going out in the West, are increasingly taking a pseudonym. For example, an add-on to the space simulator Tarr Chronicles: Border Guards was called Dark Horizon - and even without specifying that this is not an original, but an add-on.

The same thing happened with Symbiont. For the Russian market, a beautiful and not hackneyed name was found, but in Europe and America the game is recognized under the name “Swarm”, that is, “Roy”, a simpler word.

An interesting point: a hero is considered a symbiont in the game, who managed to mutate and acquire the abilities of aliens, but at the same time remain human, and Roy is, in fact, the name of alien enemies. It turns out that in our game the main thing is the hero, and in the West - aliens? However, I do not undertake to draw far-reaching conclusions from this difference.

Entertaining xenobiology

We have examined in detail what the hero consists of, and now we turn to his opponents. Here we will analyze not only how they work, but also what to oppose to them.

Researcher is the first alien we meet. His main feature: he slows down time, and he speeds up. At the same time, the hero begins to see everything in yellow tones. This enemy does not pose a great danger, and it can be easily destroyed with the help of melee weapons. And after the middle of the game, the explorers die from one hit of the hero's claws.

Detector- a small and extremely nasty enemy. He always keeps at a decent distance, is not visible in the dark, it is pointless to fight him in close combat. The detectors run in small groups, and the only thing they do is try to jump on the hero. As soon as they touch his body, an explosion occurs. The remains of the detector stain the screen, and a lot of health is taken away from the hero. A group of these aliens can easily destroy a completely healthy character.

Fighting them is both easy and hard at the same time. They are so small that we only notice them when the detectors are already in front of our feet. However, there is an opportunity to track down this alien is still on the way. When a small creature runs, it makes a specific sound, a kind of squeak. As soon as you hear it, turn on the “alien vision” and start shooting at the detected enemies. The detector usually needs one bullet.

Beagle- it looks like a large dog clad in scaly armor. Moves quickly, usually walks in a group with brothers - so you have to fight with two or three "dogs" at once. They bite painfully, but die quickly. The best remedy claws against them.

Gunner- a rather interesting opponent, from whom we will borrow the "shield" skill. Gunner uses ranged weapons, or rather, spits fire and energy balls. This alien almost always keeps a distance from the hero. However, this does not mean that you need to shoot him with a machine gun! Under no circumstances should you try to shoot him. The enemy turns on the shield, and all the bullets fly back to the hero. The easiest way to deal with him is to fall into a "rage", run and stab. And try to get behind him. Gunner is inflexible.

Sparg- a nasty adversary. First of all, because he can become invisible and appears unexpectedly. It cannot be said that this greatly spoils our lives, but sparg is capable, like us, of clawing in close combat. This does quite a lot of damage. In addition, he also shoots. His standard fighting tactics goes something like this: he suddenly appears, delivers two or three hits, disappears, runs away and starts shooting at us from a short distance.

The easiest way to see sparga is with the advanced vision of aliens. However, this is not the only option. Even looking at the world with simple human eyes, we see the movements of the enemy. Its contour is noticeable, which bends the space.

This huge enemy can only be killed with a final blow.

There are several ways to counter this enemy. The first is to pounce on the enemy with rage turned on and claws at the ready. Four accurate blows - and the pieces of the enemy fly in all directions. The second way is more sophisticated and inconvenient - to use energy guns. First, we shoot in the sight mode (this will throw the enemy back), and then we finish him off with regular shots. But, since the aliens are good at resisting any bullets, we will have to repeat the procedure almost three times. Unnecessarily long, of course, but our character does not lose health at all. And the third way is the easiest. We launch an energy grenade towards the sparg and shoot it in aiming mode. The enemy is dead.

Infiltrator is the most dangerous enemy. He walks with a huge machine gun, from which he easily kills our hero in three or four seconds. Even the energy shield does not save. Fighting an infiltrator with a ranged weapon is pointless. He still shoots more powerfully than you. The only way out is to get closer.

When you decide to attack an infiltrator, the first thing to do is turn on the “rage” skill, it is much easier to dodge bullets with it. Then run up to the enemy and stand behind him. After that, you can begin to actively wave your claws. But the alien will not like it, and he will throw you away with a machine gun. If your character is already out of rage, it will end badly.

The only way to kill an infiltrator is with the final blow. Wait until he gets down on his knee, and then turn off the "rage" and press the "E" button.

It is important: the first infiltrator you drain energy from will reward you with an energy cannon. So do not rush to blow it up with a grenade or throw it into the abyss. You need his strength.

ringleaders

There are not so many main opponents, only four. Consider methods to counter them.

The first meeting with the creature.

Boss #1. For the first time the so-called creature we meet almost at the beginning of the game. A huge beetle breathes fire and hits with hefty arms. To win, we need to throw grenades at the enemy until he lowers his head and his health indicator starts flashing bright red. Then we sit down at the machine gun and shoot non-stop until the creature decides to burn the hero again with fire. Then again grenades, then again a machine gun.

These are three bugs: the first is that the enemy has no health bar. You need to load the game from autosave. The second - there is no anti-aircraft gun. It is treated the same. And the third is the most terrible: the hero cannot get out of the anti-aircraft gun. It is treated like this: in the file \My Documents\My Games\The Swarm\user_config.cfg, find the line "bind e "+use" 16". (Instead of "e" there may be another key if the keyboard layout has changed). Instead of the number 16, put 80.

It is not necessary to completely kill the creature. After the hero takes away half of her health, a helicopter arrives, and the chapter ends.

The worst and most important alien on Earth.

It is interesting: usually everyone's health is taken away from right to left. It's been like that in almost every game. However, the boss's health goes from left to right. And it's very hard to notice. I restarted the battle ten times, surfed the Internet to understand what was the matter and what kind of bug it was. It turned out that I was just not paying attention.

Boss #2- Looks like a rhinoceros. He rushes after you, crashes into walls and falls. That's when he lies helplessly, you need to shoot him in the red belly.

It is important: shooting in the back is pointless. Boss from this no damage.

Here's the easiest way to avoid his attacks: stand still until the last moment, and then abruptly jump to the side. Only in this way is the rhino guaranteed to crash into the wall and not turn off after you.

Boss #3- the main alien on Earth. Killing him is easy, but getting to him is very difficult. It is necessary to get into three tunnels and turn off the generators in them. Pay attention to the pictures, they show the correct arrangement.

As soon as the barrier disappears, it will be possible to fight with the boss himself. He is extremely weak, and you can easily kill him without losing a drop of blood.

Boss #4- the creature again. Only now it will have to deal with it a little differently. Run down the lower floor to the power plant, fire it up and up the stairs on the other side of the building. There you need to turn the valve, and then run forward and pull the lever. After that, machine guns will start shooting at the creature. Only from them the leader loses health, so we will have to repeat the procedure about seven times.

Once you kill the creature, the game will be over. Congratulations!

You will find the next key on the wall when you pass near the building's core. For the next transparent doors, behind which are two shooting creatures, you will need to climb up to the left of the door to the hill, turn on the shield and try to hit the switch on the opposite wall. Genes

To improve the hero, you need to cross the genes of your own and aliens. To do this, you press Enter and choose either evolution or symbiosis. Evolution increases regeneration and energy, symbiosis - allows you to interact with alien mechanisms and absorb energy from aliens. Develop both. To develop, right-click on the white block you need with the left mouse button, and then left-click on the place where you want to put it. It is necessary to connect the red and green blocks with grooves so that they communicate, to lay a kind of road between them.

Along the way, you will come across cocoons and dead bodies of aliens. Approach them and press E. The cocoons contain blocks for improving genes, which you can use in the hero option by pressing Enter. I advise you to carefully explore the territory, as cocoons can be found in the most unexpected places. Look around, jump onto the original balconies to get into an uncharted area. In cocoons you will find healing (red crosses), DNA (for energy recovery), gene codes and various upgrades. I advise you not to use all the restoration of lives and energy at once, if everything is in perfect order, but leave it just in case.

The main enemies for you will be soldiers and aliens. Save ammo and where you can use melee or grenades, which are used by pressing the mouse wheel. Save often by using the F6 key. To effectively destroy the soldiers, use the scope by pressing Z. And to quickly change weapons, use the Q key.

When you get to a wide two-story corridor, climb the stairs and jump to the balcony, and from it to the opposite side. There is a rare cocoon with genes hidden in the room. In the second large multi-level corridor, find three batteries and turn them on by approaching and pressing E. When they work, turn on the lever on the wall and lower the bridge to the opposite side. Finding a door with a lever on the right on the wall, do not rush to go there. Check if you have found everything on the level. After passing through the door, you will encounter a bunch of soldiers. Will have to make an effort. After killing them, find and turn on the battery in one of the rooms on the 1st floor. Find the lever and the gate on the first floor will open, you go there. After dealing with the aliens and the rest of the soldiers, go to the room with two soldiers. Level passed.

The road to the hospital

After passing the dark corridors, you will stumble upon a closed door. The lever that opens it is located near two working batteries. Behind her are beams that activate explosives. Blow up the barrel of fuel and go further along the back streets of the subway. Those aliens that shoot projectiles are better to kill at close range using rage. Run up to the hospital and stand to the right of it behind the blocks. So you can resist them, they will run up to you one by one. Entering the hospital, they will say that the medicines are in another compartment and everything is teeming with alien creatures. You will have to go there alone, there is no choice. After dealing with a small number of monsters, you will again lose consciousness, and the mutation of the body will become even more. You will have a powerful alien weapon.
