Review of the game counter strike global offensive. Review of CS: GO - all the best from the world of shooters. What do skins give to their owner

Aloha! It's me again, A_Dungeon! Today I will talk about new game shku from Valve - Counter Strike: Global Offensive, which was released just today. As always, there will be many color illustrations in the review.

First of all, I would like to note that the graphic was really successful. And not even in terms of the most "cruise" high-end graphics, but in terms of the quality work of designers, mappers, modelers and others. Because the maps look really amazing, the weapon and player models are good too (i.e. they're really just well made and good on their own, but do they look good in this game - another question) - in a word, I liked the graphic, despite the fact that in general Counter Strike is not a game where the graphic is important. At least it doesn't have any such pomposity, excessive brightness, as in Source - the graphics in GO are simply pleasant, where it is necessary to be gloomy, where it is necessary to be bright. In general, a good graphic, ordinary, pleases the eye and there are not enough stars from the sky. And the cards are very good. That is, as.

CSGO Review
Most maps in GO are copies of classic maps from 1.6. However, unlike the same Source, the environment and design have been redone almost completely - if in Source they just tightened up the textures, added the usual Soursian features like garbage lying all over the map, then here the concept and idea of the map are almost completely redesigned, leaving the original structure of the map almost untouched. For example, de_dust2. In 1.6 and Source, this is such an ordinary eastern city with pointed domes and intricate paintings a la cartoons about Aladdin. In GO, this map looks very much like levels from some CoD 4, because now it is no longer a fairy tale about Aladdin, but rather dilapidated streets, say, of Syria. In this regard, GO is head and shoulders above its predecessors, that is, here a lot of attention is paid to the details in the maps, from which a positive impression is formed.
The weapons here are also completely redesigned, however, they are recognized in the same way as maps - that is, the Desert Eagle looks like a Desert Eagle, and the AWP looks like an AWP. But despite this, I would call the change in weapons a change for the worse. Because if the cards have their own charm, then the weapons do not. It looks like some kind of puppet, sham, more round, casual, or something. The sounds of the weapons are completely different, some fart ones. That is, if the bias towards modern soap action on the maps is more or less appropriate, then the round and farting weapon looks somehow depressing and does not fit into the game at all. By the way, this is my personal opinion. It just occurred to me that the weapons don't fit into the setting. And you know what else does not fit into the setting? Fucking these achievement medals, it's good that they were removed from the leaderboard. I still don’t like this nonsense with statistics, all sorts of ranks, awards best player. Still some ELO added. Elo.

Pysch pysch!

The whole point is that GO is not enough ... How should I call it, lamp-like, or something. 1.6 was very simple, very comfortable, kind of native; I didn't like Source right away - but even it was closer to 1.6. GO looks more like a reincarnation of some Kolovduty in the Counter Strike setting - but not a reincarnation of 1.6, according to which oldfags will cry tears of joy and fill achievements with a childishly happy mug by planting bombs. It rather smacks of a banal desire to cut the dough for the same game for the third time, no matter how sad it may sound.

CSGO Review

The whole essence of the game in one screenshot

One more thing I want to say - GO is very ambiguous in terms of being lousy. That is, the developers, for example, wanted to add mods from old game which were wildly popular. This is good. But for some reason they added only the GunGame mode - here, we must pay tribute, it is implemented well - but for some reason they forgot about the equally popular ZombieMod, DeathRun, JailBreak. It seems that the developers themselves do not know how to make the game close in spirit to the original, but at the same time please fans of modern soulless shooting games - and add a little bit of everything in the blind hope that this trick will work. Here we added, for example, GunGame. Here the graph is pulled up. Good. Achievements and iCloud are good too. But for some reason, they shoved the statistics and these fucking ranks. Added new weapons. What the hell, one wonders, they added, everything seemed to be so and it was normal. But no - they added some idiotic tactical decoy grenades, some Molotov cocktails, which, f**king, no one ever uses, washed down some poppy little trailers on YouTube, so that everything is so in place and crap - ah , what a new counter streak is soapy cool, I'll go pre-order and get a gun in TF2. But the whole point of the game is far from being in the soap, and not even in the guns! These are the pies. Well, something like this. I think, from my words and color illustrations, you can, in principle, get some idea of Global Offensive. In fact, it was possible to compile it even from the beta, then I even wanted to write a review, but somehow it didn’t work out. In general, after the beta, little has changed. Fixed unpleasant bugs, added new pictures to the main menu (oh yes), all sorts of other nonsense - but the game itself remained the same. And even then, at the beta stage, it was possible to understand what the fail was all about.

Good day, Gamebomb users. This is my review on Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

What is Counter Strike?

This is a first-person shooter where two teams oppose, these are Counter-Terrorists (Special Forces) and Terrorists, this war has been going on since the days of CS 1.6. CS is one of the most popular shooters of our time, where you need composure, accuracy and the ability to play in a team. The game has several game modes, some of the most popular, well, for me for sure, this is a scenario with a bomb explosion and hostage taking, let me tell you what these two modes are.

bomb scenario

In this mode, the terrorists must plant a bomb, at point A or B, one of the players is given a bomb at the beginning of the round, he can pass it to another, so as soon as you plant the bomb, the countdown to its explosion will begin, the special forces team must clear it, that is, the terrorists in this mode defend it, and on the contrary, the special forces attack. There are a lot of rounds in the game, so if it didn’t work out once, then there are 10 more or more in stock. If I'm not mistaken, there are only 15 rounds in the game.

Scenario with hostages

In this mode, a group of special forces must capture a hostage and lead him to their base, while a group of terrorists must defend him and not give into the hands of special forces. There are not one or even two hostages in the game, but if the commandos lead at least one to the base, then that's it, they won. So the terrorists have a difficult task, but if they are a good team, and not crayfish who can’t even hit a meter in the leg, then they have every chance to win. This mode also has more than one round, so there is always a chance to win.

Maps, weapons, etc.

The game has a good selection of weapons, at the beginning of each round both teams can buy by pressing a certain button, a selection wheel appears in front of you, there you can buy assault rifles, heavy weapons, pistols, sniper rifles, various grenades (regular, hammers, flashlights, smoke, etc.), body armor, a shocker pistol, and various tools (for example, for quickly taking a hostage). The more people you kill, the more money they give you, well, if your team wins this round, then the whole team will be given money, and the team that lost will be given less money. There are enough cards in the game, there are popular ones, like dust 2, and there are not so many, but there are enough of them.

Casino

And there is also a "casino" in the game, that is, in the menu, you open the boxes, unless of course you have the key to it, the key costs around 80 rubles, which is quite a lot, and you may come across some kind of cool barrel, which you can even sell for real money, only they are credited to you only on Steam, and you can’t withdraw them, or you can get some shit for three rubles, a cheap weapon, and not very beautiful, and if you’re lucky, then you’ll come across some a rare item, well, that is, a knife, for example, a karmabit, a bayonet or some other, the cost of such knives can be as much as 14 thousand and probably more, I confess, I myself once tried to knock out a cool weapon, and for my first time, good luck to me smiled, I got a gun for about 2500 rubles, I sold it for 2000 thousand, the guy who bought it paid 2300 for it. Well, that is, you may be lucky, or maybe not, I advise you not to gloat with this, because you can spend all your money like that, and not get anything worthy.

Graphic arts

The graphics in the game are good, the game was made on the Source engine, and he seems to be friends with weak computers but certainly not the weakest. So, I'm not complaining about the graphics.

Outcome

The game has a very interesting gameplay that requires you to be precise and team game, good graphics, and it's a decent game from the Counter Strike series, I didn't play it much, only 71 hours. There are those who have spent 1000 or more hours in it, but the game can draw in for long hours.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a legendary shooter with many fans

It looks like it came from another dimension.

This game is not something that should not exist - it simply is not needed. PC users (according to SteamGraph, thousands of them) were quite satisfied Counter-Strike: Source and CS 1.6, which have been polished for almost decades and received a lot of attention from the players.

However, CS:GO exists, and it is stupidly filled with clones of the Desert Eagle pistol and the de_dust map, which suggests a gap in the space-time continuum. Suddenly the game industry of a parallel universe mixed with ours?

Playing CS:GO is like going to a high school reunion. Changes are immediately noticeable: they have grown old, cut their hair, changed clothes, in the end. But it even gives pleasure: these are all the same people you knew!

In other words, familiarity with CS:GO is both good and bad. Even minimal deviations from the CS classics immediately catch the eye. MP-5 is now called MP-7, but it's still the same "don't kill me plz, that's all I could buy". TMP has now replaced MP9. Ragdoll physics no longer causes eyes to bleed upon death. And for some reason, you can’t attach a silencer to the M4.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - a logical continuation previous versions Counter strike

However, weapons are not so bad. Of course, you can live a full life without the exact restoration of the MP5 from the beginning of the 2000s, but it’s not mindless copying that soars much more, but the system of interaction between players. Changes in it are subtle, but they are. If you shoot someone in GO, they won't even flinch. Yes, the blood is gushing, the sound is appropriate (if the distance allows), but he will continue to stand motionless. What made the developers remove this animation is unclear.

Because of this, it is very often unclear whether damage is being done to the enemy or not - especially at long distances. That is why the so-called tracers become indispensable: they allow you to see the trajectory of a bullet for a few more milliseconds. When shooting with a rifle or SMG, you can easily get distracted from the enemy and the scope, which you need to keep an eye on in order to try to understand where the bullet hit from the smallest and slowest effects. A slight advantage of tracers is that they make this task easier.

Changes in de_dust 2.0

The game pleases with a variety of weapons for every taste

Changes already made to existing maps, made carefully and wisely. The glass is less transparent, so don't expect to be an easy sniper in areas like the main hall on cs_office. And just one added staircase on de_dust decently expands the possibilities of terrorists, allowing you to use this place as a trap. Moving Bomb B closer to the center of the map makes it not a good idea for counter-terrorists to hide on their respawn.

Considering these pretty good improvements to the old maps, it's hard to understand why the "new" mode and the new maps in general are so boring and mediocre. In general, half of the 16 maps are new, but they are all locked for the arms race (which is a reworking of the GunGame mod made by fans) and destruction modes (the same GunGame, but without insta-spawns and with bomb damage).

After fifty hours, these mods, by the way, can be closed to hell. "Valve" usually did a great job with their games - Scavenge in Left 4 Dead 2 or payload in Team Fortress 2 examples of this. However, this is clearly not the case here. GO mods look very boring, safe, undeveloped, as if the developers have run out of imagination. We have already seen all this. But it would be great to see a redesigned VIP mode. Yes of course it is headache- if the VIP does not know how to play, then they will hate him forever, risky. But it would be just mind-blowing to see it with modern graphics!

In the game, each team must complete a specific task.

And yes, since we have already touched on the topic with new cards, we must finish it. Well ... In principle, purely aesthetically they are tolerable. de_bank is reminiscent of the battle around Burgertown in Modern Warfare. On de_lake and de_safehouse, you can arrange a confrontation both in a multi-storey building and in the area around it. But tactically, they only repeat the parent maps - and no more. Some of them are just cropped (for example, de_shorttrain is just an amputated piece of de_train) and made for dumb meat action, which is more like call of duty.

What's really unfortunate is that valve and hidden path missed a great opportunity to add classic cards- something that could replicate the legendary Office, Italy, Dust, Dust2, Aztec, Inferno, Nuke and Train. They could spruce up lesser-known but still beloved maps like cs_estate or cs_crackhouse. But instead... Those eight locations that we were given are more like paintball arenas - too fast, relatively fun, but completely frivolous. There is no sense of seriousness. These cards lack something special, some goal, or, at worst, at least some tactical complexity of their predecessors.

Outcome

The game pleases with improved graphics

Even with these dubious fixes and mediocre new maps, GO is still Counter-Strike with its awesome moments. Be offensive with P90. Be the last survivor and feel like your teammates are looking over your shoulder, and placing all their hopes on you.

The feeling that each kill increases the safety of both you and your comrades. Knife fight for your honor. Accidentally blind your team with a flash grenade thrown in the wrong place and kill everyone with it. Yes, it's still included.

CS:GO is like a ticket to the past for 15 bucks. It still retains the tradition of "Counter" as a game built on competition, in which you need to carefully monitor tactics and cooperate smoothly. Still a game in which it is important to choose the right position and the right moment to attack, to correctly assess: is this step worth the noise reproduced? It's still one of those modern shooters, where there is no blocked content and a focus on secondary fire modes.

CS:GO retains the tradition of "Counter" as a game built on competition, in which you need to carefully monitor tactics and cooperate smoothly

There is also something that rejuvenates this game that millions have been playing for twelve years now. For example, a new scoreboard, which is an overview of both the server and the team. Beginners can practice on bots offline. And although the new types of weapons do not look very good in places (something resembles children's toys, something is generally stupidly the same), it's very cool that several character models have been worked out for both terrorists and counter-terrorists. And not in words, but quite realistically - they sound and look completely different.

And the new weapon, by the way, is not so bad, despite its secondary nature. For example, PP-Bizon is a cheap SMG. The MAG-7 shotgun fires and reloads very slowly, but is deadly to the point of horror. And it's great that heavy guns, which used to be neither in the village nor in the city, are now even irreplaceable in some situations. Incendiary grenades and Molotov cocktails also fit perfectly into the overall concept, because they turn into an impenetrable wall of fire that can cut down even the most ingenious enemy tactics in the bud.

Video review of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Summing up, we can only say one thing: go, go, go! It remains to be hoped that the community will come up with and create something for maps and modes that the developers themselves did not bother to finish. Zombie mod has already been done - and it's quite good.

Probably, someone will like the new sight. When you point it at an ally, the sight changes to a cross, illustrating that you do not need to shoot here.

Changed the jumping system. You are now jumping longer distances. On some maps, I even jumped over places that I sometimes didn’t jump to in Source. At the same time, you can forget about any jumps and even imitations of it. Now it won't work at all. Perhaps this is even correct.

There is some feeling that everyone is running a little faster. This is very noticeable if you play Counter Strike: Global Offensive for a while, and then return to Source. In the latter, you just start to tear everyone wildly, because everything seems terribly slow.

Weapon running has also been changed. If before the gun did not slow you down in any way, now you can run crystal fast only with a knife in your hands. I don't even know if this is good or bad. Most likely, it is bad, because the gun still should not slow down.

The lack of silencers also affected the gameplay. I do not know a player who would not notice their disappearance. There was a silent electric shock, but this is not it. Removed some feature of the game. After all, everything is built, as you know, on the details. This was a striking distinguishing feature of one weapon from another. Many players on the forums have expressed high hopes for the return of silencers to the game.

Now you can always see what you have with you from the arsenal, and what grenades are still left. Of course, most users will say that they always know what they have. But it will be useful for beginners. Moreover, in my opinion, it will be useful to others. Counter Strike Source has been on the market for so long that everyone has already learned what sound where and what it means. Now everything has changed, including the sounds. You may simply not notice how the grenade was picked up.

For each map, the developers have drawn personal skins for the players. It's a little confusing at first. Everyone is used to the fact that regardless of the map, the players look according to their team affiliation and the skins do not change from map to map. Here everything is different. Only intuitively, thanks to the knowledge of the cards, you understand who, where you can run out from in the first 30 seconds after the start of the round, and you orient yourself. Of course, a few months will pass and everyone will be back with eyes closed to distinguish an enemy from an ally, but so far this is not the case and very often players fire on their own. By the way, not only skins have changed. Each card has its own voices and texts in radios. This brings some variety to the game. Why they did it, though, I still don't understand.

What pleased me the most was that the old console commands from Source remained working. This helped to quickly customize the game for themselves in terms of appearance and sight. The fact that everything in the game can be done through the console leaves hope that CS: GO will not be another Call Of Duty, which "contra" has become like.

And finally, about glitches and bugs. On the this moment the game is damp and not friendly with my hardware. There are serious problems on the machines of a huge number of users, and I am no exception. At the same time, everything works perfectly on a home machine, but at work it is already extremely crooked. There is no need to be afraid of this, it happened with every counter-strike. In the near future, everything will be finished and the lags will stop.

Conclusion

After a long game, there is a double feeling. On the one hand, the game has become much more difficult compared to Source. On the other hand, it seems that with all this, GO is more "sharpened" for beginners. There is no definitive answer to this question yet, time will tell.

The quality of maps, skins and weapon models pleased. The graphics are better, but the game will still be able to run on a huge number of computers around the world, and will not become a pampering for the elite.

As a result of the game, you can put 8 out of 10 points and recommend it for purchase.

Hi all. The Gamebizclub team is in touch. In June of this year, computer sports in Russia switched to new stage development. Esports has been added to the register of official sports. One of the most popular disciplines in this direction is Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Championships are held regularly, and prizes for winning range from several thousand to a million dollars.

Today we are publishing a review of CS GO, where we will talk about the game in general and explain the reasons for its popularity. And at the end we will give one life hack - read carefully.

From this article you will learn:

A little about the basics of the game

First, a small guide for beginners. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is an online multiplayer first-person shooter. The release date of CS:GO is August 2012. More than four years have passed, but the game remains popular today: various tournaments and competitions gather an audience of millions from different countries.

The main idea of the game is to conduct a counter-terrorist operation in a separate location. The operation involves terrorists and special forces. The terrorists must detonate the bomb, hold the hostages or snap the special forces, and the special forces must prevent the terrorists from carrying out their plans.

Combat operations take place on maps, where each team must complete a specific task. To complete it, you will have to try - other players will interfere with all their might, shoot from every corner, throw grenades and go in from the flanks and attack in the back.

CS: GO is a logical continuation of CS 1.6 and Source. The developers have combined all the best, finalized the gameplay and added the game to Steam. New realistic graphics and detailed maps allow each user to fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere of confrontation.

Any shooter is not complete without cool guns, and CS: GO is no exception. In the arsenal of terrorists and special forces weapons for every taste: pistols, submachine guns, shotguns, machine guns, automatic and sniper rifles. The most popular ones are AK-47, M4A4, M4A4-S, AWP, Scar 20. Note that each player must learn how to accurately shoot from all types of weapons - it is not always possible to buy a favorite gun.

To make it more comfortable for users to compete, the game has a system of titles and ranks, which shows the level of skill. This system allows gamers of the same level to fight with the same players as them. The rank rises when you get the next level. To get a level, you need to fight and earn experience for victories and defeats.

There are 18 stages of development in total. Accordingly, the higher the level, the greater the authority. There is also a system of profile ranks. For each increase in such a rank, Steam gives a bonus in the form of a skin or graffiti.

What's new?

The principles have not changed - weapons are bought and immediately into battle. The main changes are related to the gameplay. Compared to CS 1.6 and Source, Valve Studio:

  • Changed the accuracy of some weapons.
  • Added incendiary grenades.
  • Implemented the ability to change appearance weapons - the so-called skins.
  • Combined transactions for buying and selling skins, graffiti and other attributes on the Steam marketplace. Now you can buy or sell an item for rubles, and spend the profit from the sale on another game.
  • Tournaments and championships have been improved - now you can watch the battles of teams live, take part in tournaments and even broadcast videos of your game to other people.

The main difference is the official Global Offensive modes. There are five of them, and in each person must perform a specific task:

  • Competitive - a small championship of the spirit of teams of five people.
  • Ordinary - standard mode, as in previous versions.
  • Arms Race is a chaotic mode with instant respawn and random weapons.
  • Fight to the death - the battle of two teams, instant respawn. The weapon improves after one or two frags.
  • Destroying an object is the same fight to the death, plus you need to complete a combat mission.

CS GO has become more realistic, the graphics are pleasing to the eye and do not spoil the impression of the game. The design of maps, weapons and models has been redesigned so that the game resembles a real picture of combat operations. Let's give an example: Dust 2 resembles a dilapidated Aleppo, and Office is a provincial town somewhere in the north of the United States.

Pros and reasons for popularity

Since 2012, CS:GO has been acquired by almost 14 million users. The interest of people is explained by the simplicity gameplay, rapid adaptation, and the team spirit of the competition.

Main advantages of CS:GO:

  • Intuitive interface that does not cause problems even for novice users.
  • Regular updates, in which developers refine the balance and fix bugs, make the game better.
  • Since the first version, Counter-Strike has won love among the players, which only intensified with each new part games.
  • The introduction of skins attracted a large number of players who had previously bypassed this shooter.
  • Various organizations hold tournaments with prizes ranging from $10,000 to $1 million.

And cons

There are several problems in CS:GO that players face. For many people, the main problem is the cost of Counter-Strike. Price license key in Steam - 449 rubles. It seems to be not much, but people prefer to look for pirates and download hacked versions from torrents. If you go this way, then you will not be able to play on official servers.

Shooting is a challenge for beginners. It will take a lot of time and effort spent in training on aim cards. The same goes for general preparation - devoting a few hours a day, a person will be able to achieve good results in a few months. And after that, you can already try your hand at various tournaments.

It is difficult to adapt - at first it will be very difficult to hit or destroy someone. The servers are played by different people, but most of them are experienced players who send 3-5 people to rep per round. Therefore, first you need to properly practice in combat with bots, understand the interface and learn how to shoot, and only then move on to online battles with other people. But at the same time, in online battles with other people, you can quickly understand the tactics and features of shooting from different weapons.

Eventually

CS GO is much better than the previous versions in terms of graphics, design and gameplay. The whole series became popular back in 2000, and now the complexity and entertainment have increased several times. The main "chips" remained unchanged - tactics, teamwork and shooting accuracy.

Life hack - most experience can be obtained in competitive mode. Experience for two or three won matches, taking into account increasing coefficients, will be enough for one level. Try to get as many frags as possible and win. But even if you lose, you will get more experience than for winning in any other mode.

To achieve good results, you need to train a lot and hone your skills. Ordinary players buy the most expensive weapons and go into battle, while professionals fight with one weapon all the time and train to shoot accurately and avoid enemy fire. It's difficult, but very interesting.

For beginners and experienced players we have prepared a series of articles on CS: GO. In the next issues we will talk about setting up the config, console commands and cheats, explain how to win at roulette, reveal the secrets and nuances of the game. Stay in touch. If you have something to add - write your opinions and reviews in the comments. All the best, bye bye.
