Checkers game rules training. How to teach a child to play checkers from scratch in a playful way. Try to predict your opponent's move

Most board games, be it checkers, chess or backgammon, are primarily logical games, where it is necessary to think in advance not only your own moves, but also the possible movements of your opponent. The result of each game depends to a greater extent on the actions of the player himself, and fortune plays a very small role.

Checkers, despite the simplicity of the rules, are no exception. This game has a fairly dynamic gameplay, but in any case, you need to carefully monitor the opponent's move and try to use his every action for your own benefit.

There are basic game rules that apply to most types of checkers. Since the main task in the game is to destroy all the opponent's chips before he has time to do it, then all the majority strategic advice calculated for it.

The exceptions are the games of Giveaway or Chapaev, in which the gameplay is significantly different from the classic version and other methods are used.

The main task in each game is to subject your checkers to combat from the enemy as little as possible. To do this, try to move in such a way that as many of your checkers as possible adjoin the wall. The pieces will be relatively safe, while the opponent will be subject to attacks.

You can also use cunning maneuvers in this way: build a combination of pieces in order to give up one of your checkers, and thereby force the opponent to put two of his own into battle. This is a fairly effective method, but it requires miscalculations and sufficient game experience.

The queen in checkers has more possibilities than any simple piece. Therefore, do not forget about the transformation line (the last line playing field closest to you). Any checker that hits it will become a king and give an advantage to the opponent. Beating the king is not easy, because it destroys all the checkers in its field of action. Sometimes it's much easier to avoid it than to try to destroy it afterward.

As experience develops, each lover of the game has his own strategy, which allows him to emerge victorious in most games. The most important thing in the game is not to miss a good opportunity. Therefore, before you move, carefully evaluate the situation on the board and choose the best course of action.

Studying the laws of the checkers game, a beginner checkers player should not memorize individual options. The main thing is to understand the essence of the techniques used, to develop combinational vision, to learn how to find the strongest move in a particular position. When experience is gained in the game, you can move on to studying the beginnings of the game. You should learn to avoid rude viewings. Do not fall for simple combinations. If the opponent makes a mistake, use it immediately. In the previous chapter, we considered various combinations. All of them were obtained either in the middle of the game or in the end. The same combinations are found at the very beginning of the game. Each such combination is usually preceded by a trap. At the very beginning of a game of checkers, there are positions in which, at first glance, a profitable continuation immediately turns out to lead to a loss. To fall into a trap means to suffer material losses or get a lost position. In this section, we will introduce you to the traps at the beginning of the game. First, we will show you the simple ones and gradually move on to the more difficult traps.

First trap

1. a3-b4 b6-a5 2. e3-d4 a7-b6 3. d2-e3 f6-g5 4. g3-h4? (This careless move leads White to the loss of a pawn. He should have played 4. c1-d2.) (Diagram 1) 4... b6-c5! and no matter how White beats, he loses a checker. For example: 5. d4:b6 b8-a7 6. h4:f6 a7:a3, and with the next move Black takes White's checker f6.

Second trap

1. c3-b4 b6-a5 2. e3-f4 a5xc3 3. d2xb4 f6-g5 4. g3-h4? (Mistake. White falls into a trap and loses two checkers. It is correct to play 4. b2-c3.) (Diagram 2) 4... g5:e3 5. f2:d4 h6-g5! 6. h4:f6 g7:a5X.

Third trap

1. c3-d4 f6-g5 2. d4-c5 b6xd4 3. e3xc5 d6xb4 4. a3xc5 e7-f6 5. d2-e3 g5-h4 6. b2-c3? (This move leads to the loss of a checker. Usually 6. b2-a3 is played here.) (Diagram 3) 6... c7-d6! 7. c5:g5 h6:b4X.

Should have continued 6... b6-a5 7. d4:b6 a5:c7.) (Diagram 4) 7. d4:f6! g5:e7 8. h4-g5! h6:f4 9. g3:a5, and White wins two checkers.

Fifth trap

1. e3-d4 d6-c5 2. f2-e3 f6-g5 3. g3-h4 g5-f4 4. e3:g5 h6:f4 5. a3-b4 с5:еЗ? (It is correct to play 5... c5:a3 and after 6. d4-c5 b6:d4 7. c3:g3 the checkers are even. Black's erroneous fifth move loses a checker.) (Diagram 5) 6. b4-c5! b6:d4 7. c3:g3, and the black checker e3 remained in captivity.

Sixth trap

1. c3-b4 f6-g5 2. b4-a5 b6-c5 3. b2-c3 g7-f6 4. g3-f4 g5-h4 5. h2-g3 f6-g5 6. c1-b2? (One wrong move and Black breaks into the kings. At the very beginning of the game, try not to open the queen squares. You should have played 6. c3-d4.) (Diagram 6) 6...c7-b6! 7. a5xe5 c5-d4 8. e3xc5 g5xc1 and Black wins.

Seventh trap

1. g3-h4 b6-a5 2. f2-g3 c7-b6 3. e3-f4 d6-c5 4. c3-b4 a5:c3 5. d2:d6 e7:c5 6. b2-c3 f8-e7? (Black is building a shock column to attack the white checker f4, but he does not notice the sudden and swift response of the enemy. It is correct to play 6... b6-a5.) (Diagram 7) 7. сЗ-b4! c5-d4 (if 1... e7-d6, then 8. f4-g5 h6:f4 9. g3:a5 will follow, and White has two extra checkers) 8. f4-g5 h6:f4 9. g3:c3, and winning the checker should bring White victory.

Trap eight

1. c3-b4 b6-a5 2. b4-c5 d6xb4 3. a3xc5 f6-g5 4. b2-c3 g5-h4 5. a1-b2 g7-f6 6. b2-a3 f6-g5 7. c3-b4 a5:c3 8. d2:b4 h8-g7? (The move loses the game. White makes a combination and breaks into the kings. The best answer is 8... c7-b6.) (Diagram 8) 9. c5-d6! e7xc5 10.b4xd6 c7xe5 e3-f4 g5xe3 12.f2xh8 with a win.

It was necessary to continue 6... g7-f6.) (Diagram 9) 7. e3-d4! g5xe3 8. c5-b6 e3xc5 (8... a7xc5 does not help, then 9. d4xd2X) 9.b6xh4 with a win. Beginning checkers players very often fall for this combination.

Tenth trap

But it should be noted that there is no salvation in the created position.) (Diagram 10) 8. b2-c3! g5:e3 9. сЗ-b4 a5:е5 10. f2:a5X. Previously, if Black had played 7...b8-c7, then 8. c1-d2 c7-d6 9. b2-a3 d6:b4 10. a3:c5 f6-g5 would have followed, and White would have played the same combination : 11. d2-c3! g5xe3 12.c3-b4 a5xe5 13.f2xa5X. It is also a widespread method of winning.

Eleventh trap

You came across this idea when considering the eighth trap. But then White won, and now a similar blow brings victory to Black. Instead of the losing move 7. c3-b4?, White should have continued 7. f2-g3. ) (Diagram 11) 7... f4-e3! 8. d2:f4 f6-g5 9. h4:f6 e7:e3 10. f2:d4 d6-c5 11. b4:d6 c7:a1, and Black won.

Twentieth trap

1. c3-d4 d6-c5 2. b2-c3 c7-d6 3. a1-b2 b8-c7 4. g3-f4 f6-g5 5. f2-g3 g5-h4 6. g1-f2 g7-f6? (It's hard to believe that this move is the cause of all Black's troubles. Their queen squares are firmly closed, but White still finds a combinational way to break into the pre-king square. Black's best plan is to exchange 6... b6-a5 7. d4:b6 a7 :с5.) Now, in order to keep White out of the kings, Black is forced to give up a simple move 11... e7-f6, and with an extra checker, White is obliged to win. We have reviewed twenty different traps at the beginning of the party. All of them ended with a combination. Sometimes, with her help, we broke into kings, in a number of cases we won a checker or several checkers. And that, as a rule, brought victory. Traps are often invisible, and before you make the next move, you must "measure it seven times."

Checkers is a very famous board game for two players. Few people know how to play checkers correctly, and even fewer people are aware of the methods that ensure a guaranteed victory in any game. Although her rules are simple, their knowledge is not enough to consistently remain a winner. To do this, you need to properly practice using some tricks.

Checkers rules

You need to play this board game on a standard field with 8x8 cells. Total number game pieces for two - 24, i.e. 12 of them are distributed to one participant. Before placing them, you need to turn the board so that in the lower left corner in front of the participant playing for white checkers there is a black cell. Only dark fields are used - opponents place pieces on them.

The main goal is to completely remove all the opponent's pieces or block them so that he can no longer "move" and he has no moves left. You need to play like this:

  • The player who got the white pieces goes first.
  • Participants move only to the black fields, that is, diagonally, and move forward - this way of moving is called “quiet”.
  • To beat the opponent, they also move diagonally, “jumping” over the adjacent “enemy” figure, if the next field along the same diagonal is free - this type of move is called “battle”.
  • The checker, with which the opponent's piece is beaten, stands on the cell behind it, and the beaten one is removed from the field.
  • A piece that has reached the opposite edge of the board becomes a king (it is turned over or placed on top of the second one to distinguish the “queen” from simple pieces).
  • The king gets the right to move any number of cells forward or backward (but only diagonally), and during the battle she can stand on a free square behind the attacked piece, if there are several of them.

Beginning players often wonder if it's possible to hit back with simple pieces, not kings. It all depends on the type of checkers: some versions suggest that the pieces can move and shoot only forward, while others - in two directions, besides, pawns of different status have different opportunities. For beginners, the simplest, Russian version is best. After a little practice, the participant, if desired, will be able to switch to difficult level learning to play other types of checkers.

Russians

This variation is based on the simple rules described above. As for whether it is possible to move backwards in checkers, the Russian version suggests such a possibility - simple pieces are allowed to move forward and hit in any direction. At the same time, there are no restrictions on the number of pawns beaten at once. In one move, a participant can remove two, three, and, if possible, more opponent pieces.

They play Chinese checkers both together and with a large number of participants, up to six people. The goal is to move your chips to the opposite end of the field. The one with the brightest colored pieces is the first to go, and the rest make moves after him in a clockwise direction.

In one move, the player has the opportunity to move one piece in any direction. At the same time, he can jump over other people's figures when there is a free field behind them. If there is another piece behind an empty square, it is allowed to beat it in the same move. The winner is the one who first reaches the opposite end of the field, and the other participants, if desired, distribute the second, third and subsequent places among themselves.

English

Knowing all the basic rules of the standard game, it is easy to understand how to play English checkers. They need an ordinary chessboard and 12 chips for each opponent. Arrange them in the same way as in regular version game, filling the black cells of the first three rows from each side of the field. The first move is made by the player with black chips. Simple pieces can move and beat only forward, and only the king is allowed back and only one cell.

The goal of the game is to be the first to take the opponent's corner.

Giveaway

The rules of this game are similar to those in the more familiar Russian version, but the goal is different. The player needs to force the opponent to beat all his pieces or block them, that is, to put himself under attack on purpose. Each participant must beat all the opponent's game pieces available for this action, even when he can beat several pieces at once in one move. The winner is the one who first frees himself from all his pieces.

Checkers Chapaev

They are played on an ordinary board, and each participant has eight pieces at the beginning of the game. They are placed on opposite edges of the field in horizontal rows, but if desired, players can agree on any other initial arrangement. The goal of each is to knock out all other people's chips from the board, and you need to do this by clicking on your checker. When a player fails to knock out any of the opponent's pieces, or if he loses his piece, the turn is transferred to the opponent.

This board game is played over several rounds. After the first game, the winner goes first and places his line of pieces on the field one square forward. When the checkers get close to each other, the loser of the last game retreats one line back. The final winner will be the one who manages to kill all the opponent's checkers in this round.

Japanese

Playing field in japanese checkers has a size of 19x19. Initially, the players have an unequal number of chips - one receives 181 pieces. black, and the other gets 180 pcs. whites. The goal of the game is to capture and control the territory of the field. The one who occupies a larger area than the opponent will be the winner. To make a move, the chip is moved to the intersection of lines, which is called a point.

Black makes the first move. There must be at least one free point next to each chip vertically or horizontally.
