Guile street fighter. Game Street Fighter: characters. List, description

In the first game, along with his friend Ken, he is a participant in the tournament. In the following games in the series, Ryu shows his commitment to training. However, his skills attract criminals who want to use them to their advantage.

Ken Masters

Main article: Ken Masters

Ken Masters (jap. ケン・マスターズ Ken Masuta:zu, English Ken Masters, in original game - 拳 ) debuted in the first part as an additional fighter for the second player, initially differing from Ryu only aesthetically, but later developed into an independent fighter with his own combat mechanics. Like Ryu, he appears in every installment in the series, as well as most of Capcom's crossovers. Ken is Ryu's best friend, at the same time being his rival (mostly out of friendship) and, like Ryu, travels around the world in search of worthy rivals.

Retsu

Retsu (jap. 烈 Retsu) - Shorinji Kempo teacher. In the first game, he is the first opponent to be defeated (although the player can choose where to start at the beginning of the game). Although he did not appear in the rest of the games, he was depicted in many art books and related products in the game's universe.

Gecky

Gecky (jap. 激 Gecky) - A ninja who fights with a shuriken and a glove with claws. He is the second opponent in the game, and is fought in a clearing overlooking Mount Fuji. In other installments, he only appears as a cameo character in in-game videos and manuals.

Joe

Mike

birdie

Birdie was ranked 15th out of 85 characters street fighter. In 2009, he also made it to The 10 Lamest Street Fighter Characters Ever Conceived.

Eagle

According to the plot of the games of the Alpha sub-series, Yuan, being terminally ill, chose to fight Akuma before his death, for which he went in search of him. Along the way, he encounters Chunli (whose father learned the basics of combat from Yuan) as a secret opponent in Street Fighter Alpha 2 and Ryu as an intermediate boss Street Fighter Alpha 3, making sure that the latter uses the same style as Akuma. Yuan also appeared in console and computer versions Street Fighter IV as an added character. Yuan's connection to Chunli's father and his conflicted feelings about his relationship with her play a role in his backstory to the game. In the 2009 film, Yuan's role was played by Robin Shu (Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat)

Adon

Although Blanca lets out mostly meaningless wild cries in battle, Blanca does say some words in her victory phrases. AT Street Fighter IV and his updates, Blanca speaks regularly - in winning phrases, cutscenes and taunts.

Gameplay

In combat, Blanca uses her own style of fighting, mostly based on the instincts of wild animals. Blanca's gameplay belongs to the group of so-called "charge" fighters. Blanca's most famous special moves are twisting into a "ball" followed by an attack on her opponent ( rolling attack) and the ability to generate electricity on the spot, hitting them with an unsuccessfully landed opponent. Some games also have different options rolling attack, which differ in the direction of flight.

Character history

Street Fighter II

Specifically in Street Fighter II the reasons why Blanca went to the tournament are not specified. According to his ending, he is reunited with his mother, Samantha, who recognized him from the bracelet Blanca wore on his leg. She told him that when he was little, his name was Jimmy until the moment when the plane on which Jimmy was flying, the plane crashed in the jungle, after which only Jimmy remained alive, gradually feral due to external conditions, although he was bound with a local village located near the crash site. Since then, Jimmy, later Blanca, has been cut off from his family.

According to some sources, the cause of the accident could be a lightning strike on the plane, as a result of which, apparently, a mutation occurred, due to which Blanca gained the ability to perceive chlorophyll from plants (which most likely explains the color of Blanca's skin) and the ability to generate electricity.

Street Fighter Alpha 3

AT Street Fighter Alpha 3 his storyline, like many other characters, is a prequel to Street Fighter II. It tells the story of how Blanca encountered civilization for the first time in his life, deciding to climb into a food truck in search of food. During the game's playthrough, Blanca encounters Dan Hibiki as one of the mid-bosses. After the fight, during the dialogue between the characters, both learn that they each know each other, with Dan claiming to Blanke that he once saved his life.

Further, Blanca meets Zangief on her way as the second intermediate boss, unwittingly refusing his help in the fight against Shadaloo. Afterwards, Blanca meets the head of the crime syndicate, Bison, along with his henchman Balrog. Having defeated first the Balrog, and then over Bison himself, he, along with Dan and Sakura, who joined them, destroys the Shadaloo psychic weapon complex.

Fei Long

Fei Long(pinyin Fei Long; Japanese 飛龍(フェイロン) Fairon) debuted in Super Street Fighter II as one of four new characters. In the debut, Fei Long is portrayed as a Hong Kong action star who went to the tournament with the goal of improving his fighting skill. In his game ending, after defeating Bison, he ends his film career and develops his own style of kung fu called "Soaring Sky Style"(English) Soaring Heaven style; Japanese 飛天流 Hitenryu:).

Fei Long was conceived as a pastiche of famed Hong Kong film actor and martial artist Bruce Lee. English localization of the arcade version SSFI pays tribute to Bruce Lee in the following words: “There could not be another such legend, like the great one and his son”(a reference to Bruce Lee and his son Brandon, who died shortly before the game's release, although it was removed in the English version SSFII Turbo Revival for Game Boy Advance).

Later, Fei Long returned in the console versions. Street Fighter Alpha 3. Action storyline The game takes place before Fei Long is already a well-known movie star, as evidenced by his ending.

More recently, Fei Long has appeared as a playable character in the home versions. Street Fighter IV and its updates, where in many moments of the game for him he resembles Bruce Lee. Yes, his alternate costume resembles the design of Bruce Lee's character from Enter the Dragon, and both of his super moves ( Ultra Combo) are in many ways similar to those of Bruce Lee.

How the non-playable character Fei Long appeared in Street Fighter Alpha 2 as an observer in Dan Hibiki's level and in Felicia's ending in Super Gem Fighter: Mini Mix, and in the latter he is also present as a cameo on one of the levels.

Newspaper Seattle Times in your review Super Street Fighter II called Fei Long the deadliest of all the new characters in the game. Later, ranked 25 best characters Street Fighter by version

He is noted as having only two signature moves in the game, both of which are performed by first holding a direction on the joystick ("charging") - the Sonic Boom and somersault (or "Flash Kick"). Guile is one of the main characters in the 1994 anime film Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, where he is voiced by Masane Tsukayama in the Japanese original and by Kirk Thornton (credited as Donald Lee) in the English dub. Guile is assigned to work together with Chun-Li in order to take down Bison , whose organization Shadaloo (Shadowlaw in the English dub) has been kidnapping several martial artists and brainwashing them to do his evil bidding. Guile is at first far from happy to work with another person on the case, claiming loudly that "Bison"s ass is mine", but a distinct friendship builds up between him and the interpol agent. The film follows Guile's plot from the video game in Guile tracking down Bison to avenge Charlie's death, and his vendetta is amplified when Chun-Li is severely beaten by Vega on Bison's orders. Near the end of the film, Guile manages to track Ryu down but is followed by Bison and a brainwashed Ken. Guile engages Bison in combat but is outmatched by the crime lord"s overwhelming speed and only manages to damage his cape with a Sonic Boom. Bison then finishes the fight by blasting Guile down a chasm. Guile survives this, although exhausted and bloodied, and when Bison finds Guile, he decides to spare him as an insult, and leaves. "s attack.

Based loosely on the storyline of the 1994 film while combining elements from Street Fighter II, Guile serves as the main protagonist of the Street Fighter animated series, and is depicted as the leader of an organization of Street Fighters consisting of himself, Chun-Li, Blanka , Ryu, Ken, T. Hawk, Cammy, Dee Jay , Fei Long and Dhalsim . Bison has survived his battle with Guile following the events of the film, and Guile's sole goal is to destroy Bison once and for all. The cartoon ran for two seasons (October 21, 1995 – May 14, 1997) with a total of 26 episodes.

reception

video game publications have commented on Guile, giving mostly positive opinions. 8-Bit Theater author Brian Clevinger once described Guile as "the epitome of everything discussed in The Art of War". IGN ranked him at number two in their "Top 25 Street Fighter Characters" article, stating "there"s nothing too fancy about him. He"s just your basic, no-nonsense, all-American tough guy." Guile has also ranked tenth in ScrewAttack "s "Top Ten Coolest Characters". GameDaily listed him at number ten on their "Top 20 Street Fighter Characters of All Time" article, voicing disapproval for Jean-Claude Van Damme "s portrayal of him in the live action film. IGN gave similar comments labeling such portrayal as "What Went Wrong" in an article about gaming heroes. GameDaily additionally named him one of their favorite Capcom characters of all time, praising his hairstyle as one of the weirdest in gaming by stating "It"s not big, puffy and round, but big, puffy and MIGHTY." In the February 1992 issue of Gamest magazine in Japan, Guile ranked at No. 4 in the list of Best Characters of 1991.

The theme tune for Guile, specifically the version from the CP System II release of Super Street Fighter II , is the subject of a mashup internet phenomenon named "Guile"s Theme Goes With Everything", starting in April 2010, [ ] in which the music is perceived to synchronize with clips from films and other media, regardless of their content. This quickly grew to some 5500 videos and counting.

Every gamer knows the Street Fighter series of games that started out as an arcade platformer but has grown into one of the biggest and most famous fighting games in the world. There have already been six games in this series - and you should not be surprised that the last of them has the serial number "five" - the thing is that after the second part the Street Fighter Alpha game was released - that is why the sixth game appeared under the fifth number, as well as the fourth under the third, and so on. In the Street Fighter game, the characters appeared gradually - in each new part a certain number of "newcomers" were introduced, and not all of them took root and remained in the series for a long time. Therefore, in this article you will learn about those heroes who remained part of this large-scale project for the longest possible time, thanks to which they gained immense popularity among fans. The only thing you need to keep in mind is the features of the first game, because it was a platformer. Accordingly, all the characters that appeared there, except for the main two characters, were non-player characters - they were your opponents at one stage or another of the passage. Only in the further parts of the Street Fighter series did the characters become playable, which greatly attracted gamers who liked this or that hero in the first part, but he simply could not play for him.

Ryu

If you start a story about the heroes of this series of games, then you should definitely do it with Ryu. Street Fighter is a series in which Ryu is the main character, it was he who was the protagonist of the first part, and for him you had to go through that platformer. Later, when the game was transformed into a fighting game, he still remained one of the most important and attractive characters. Throughout the series, Ryu is positioned as a modest and serious young man who has honor and dignity. He travels all over the world, gradually improving his martial arts skills. In general, the image of Ryu is positive, but he also has back side. Actually main character he is obsessed with various martial arts, and when he gets very carried away, a dark force awakens in him, which is part of his soul. The character has to fight with her constantly, but if Ryu loses, then the light can see a real monster. Fortunately, he has reliable friends on whom he can rely in the event that his dark side starts to overcome him. Without Ryu, Street Fighter would be a completely different series, so it's impossible to underestimate the flavor it gives her. main character. However, of course, he is not alone in this universe - there are other equally interesting heroes.

Ken

In more late games In the Street Fighter series, the characters were created unique, that is, they had their own appearance, their own combat characteristics, their own super-tricks. However, at the very beginning, when the game was still a platformer, the second playable character who joined Ryu in the event that a second participant sat down to play was Ken. And it wasn't brand new and unique character, but just Ryu, whose figurine was painted in a different color. They had the same fighting style, absolutely identical techniques, which differed from each other only by one throw. But over time, the game developed, gained more and more popularity, so Ken separated from Ryu and became an independent character. His fighting style still remained similar to the one that Ryu demonstrates, but he had his own techniques, combinations, and so on. And most importantly, he had his own personality. Unlike the calm and serious Ryu, Ken Masters is a short-tempered and flamboyant individual who is never and always ready to take on any opponent. Ken is unpredictable and sometimes even selfish, but in general he has a big heart and he sincerely cares about all his friends, and he is ready to give everything he has to protect them from any adversity.

First woman

This heroine has become a landmark not only for this series, but for gaming industry generally. Before her in all computer games, including in the first part of Street Fighter, the characters have always been male. You could only play as a man, you fought mostly only with men, all the dialogue was only between men. Women in most cases were the object of salvation, the girlfriends of important male heroes, the occasional weakest opponents on the battlefield, and also just part of the background. But in the second part of this series, a heroine appeared who changed everything. Chun-Li joined Ryu and Ken along with a few more new characters to diversify game process. She was inferior in strength to all male heroes, but at the same time she was faster than all. Her history in the game universe is as follows: Chun-Li is an Interpol agent and she is investigating the death of her father. She goes to the killer - he is the head of a certain criminal syndicate. She even manages to get to him, but he, being a martial artist, easily overcomes the girl and informs her that if she approaches him even once, he will kill her just like her father. As a result, Chun-li begins to work on himself and improve his fighting skills in order to finally be able to defeat his main opponent. It is worth noting that this heroine appears in all subsequent games of the series, that is, only Ryu and Ken, who appear in all six episodes, participated in the events more than her.

Akuma

Akuma is a very interesting character in the Street Fighter series, who appeared already in the second part of the series as a secret game character, as well as one of the main bosses. Later, he appeared in all parts of the series, except for the last one. Who is this hero? He and his brother Gouken studied under one of the greatest masters of all time, Gotetsu. It was he who taught them incredible fighting techniques, and he also taught them the need to fight their dark side of the soul. Gouken learned his lesson, but Akuma didn't. He succumbed to the influence of dark forces in order to gain even greater power, and in this state he killed his teacher. From that moment on, the paths of the brothers diverged. Gouken began teaching everything he had learned from Gotetsu to two little boys, Ryu and Ken. After some time, Akuma showed up to Gouken and challenged him to a duel, in which he was defeated. He asked his brother to kill him, but Gouken spared Akuma. A certain amount of time passed, and Akuma appeared at Gouken again and this time defeated him, killing him with a special technique. But Gouken also mastered a special technique and detached his soul from his body, so that only the vessel died in battle. Some time later, Gouken regained his body and returned to the world to watch over his students Ryu and Ken, as well as to meet Akuma again, who continued his travels around the world, fighting various fighters and not disdaining to kill them. In the Street Fighter series, this is one of the most powerful and most vicious heroes.

Balrog

The next character, who appeared for the first time in the game Street Fighter II and met in total in four games out of six (excluding the first and third parts) is the American fighter Balrog. For a long time he was a professional boxer, but he fought by his own rules, because of which he crippled more than one professional athlete. When he purposefully killed another fighter with his punches, he was banned from participating in professional sports. Therefore, he moved into a darker sphere, going to serve in a syndicate, where he was offered good money, and the Balrog has always had a weakness for them. He took orders to destroy opponents until the head of the syndicate was killed by the Akuma described above. Balrog went to work in night club bouncer until the leader of the syndicate was resurrected in another body - then the Balrog was returned to the syndicate, where he was tasked with monitoring the clones in the laboratory. He tried to earn extra money by acquiring a special device hidden in the syndicate's lair, but it was destroyed, so Balrog did not receive the money. This character is distinguished by cruelty and ruthlessness, as well as his main sin - the love of money, regardless of whether they are clean, dirty or bloody.

cammy

Another character that appeared in Street Fighter II is Cammy. She became the second most popular character in the series after Chun-Li, and she has a rich and fascinating history of her own. It all starts with the fact that Cammy, as a soulless doll of the syndicate, attacks Dhalsim in order to kill him. However, Dhalsim has a special technique in reserve that allows him to cleanse Cammy's mind and free her from the syndicate's influence. The Syndicate sends Vega after her, who deliberately loses to her and tells her the story of how she was created to be a puppet in the Syndicate's hands. As a result, Cammy is confronted by syndicate leader Bison, who informs her that even more unconscious dolls have been created from her. Cammy decides to save them, and she manages to win the fight with Bison, but in the end she loses consciousness, and with it her memory. Vega takes her to the doorstep of the British Secret Service, where she is recruited due to the fact that she retains all the fighting skills she acquired in the syndicate. When Cammy finds out what's going on big tournament, she feels that something connects her with the organizer of the tournament Bison. When she is there, she learns that she was created as a new vessel for Bison, sent to the British secret service "undercover", but memory loss ruined all the syndicate's plans. In the UK, Cammy was told that they did not look at her past and offered her to start life from scratch.

Dhalsim

Dhalsim is one of the most peaceful and friendly characters in the entire fighting game series. He is a pacifist and believes that one should not use force unnecessarily, but at the same time participates in battles to earn money. He does this not out of selfish motives, but to save his village, which is in poverty without food, water and medicines. After a while, he acquires a new goal - to defeat Bison, the head of a syndicate that brings too much evil into this world. Dhalsim's two most important acts in the Street Fighter universe are the destruction of Bison's body and the return of Cammy's consciousness. Later, Dhalsim once again helps his village, which is left without water due to the dam. He admits that the syndicate is unbeatable because it represents infinite evil, but he notes that the good in people's hearts is also infinite.

bison

A lot has already been said about this hero, and you should have already understood that he is the head of the crime syndicate and the main villain in the Street Fighter universe. He possesses psychic power that allows him not only to improve his fighting skills, but also to control the minds of other people, turning them against their own friends. Bison's body was destroyed several times, but it was always recreated by scientists committed to his cause - but all subsequent bodies were slightly weaker than the previous ones.

Guile

Another character that deserves attention is Guile. Street Fighter in terms of history would practically lose nothing if this hero did not exist, because he plays a minimal role in the development of general events - only once he helps Chun-Li at the syndicate base when he is looking for his military comrade there. However, at the same time, it is Guile who is one of the most frequently chosen characters during the battle, second only to Ryu and Ken.

Sagat

One of the most interesting characters on this list is Sagat. Street Fighter II is not the game in which he first appeared, unlike all the fighters described above (except Ryu and Ken, of course). He first appeared in the first part of the game, where he was one of the bosses, but then he constantly began to appear in the games of the series as a playable character. Sagat is a Muay Thai master who became the undisputed champion in this martial art when he was still a teenager. He then defended his title by killing an opponent but losing an eye. In the first world tournament, he wanted to prove that he was the strongest not only in Thailand, but throughout the world. When he met with Ryu, he almost overpowered him, which caused Ryu to release dark energy, which he used against Sagat, leaving a huge scar on his body. Sagat set out to take revenge on Ryu, which is why he got into the syndicate in the service of Bison. But there he gradually began to realize that anger should not lead a fighter during a duel - because of this, he succumbed in battle with the son of the same fighter whom he killed, losing an eye. Sagat is one of the most transformed fighters in the series.

Vega

One of Bison's closest aides in the syndicate is Vega. Street Fighter Wouldn't be the same game without this hero. He is a nobleman and a bullfighter, but he goes out into the streets at night to ruthlessly kill and maim people while wearing a mask. As a result, he himself comes to the syndicate to work there, gradually becoming one of the leaders. He was in charge of the cloning project for Cammy and sent her to the British Secret Service. Vega is the fastest fighter in the series. Street Fighter is a series of fighting games in which it is very important to find the right balance and approach to each character.

Zangiev

One of the brightest characters representing Russia in the series is Zangief. Street Fighter has fighters from different countries, and Zangief is there on the personal instructions of Gorbachev, who sent a fighter to the tournament to fight the Bison syndicate, because he began to gradually spread his influence to the USSR, which the government of the Union did not want. Naturally, there are many more heroes in the game, such as Edmond Honda, however, they appeared in fewer episodes, so they did not make it into this article.
