Update 9.19 general test released

General information about the test server:

  • Due to the large number of players on the test server, there is a limit on user login. All new players who wish to take part in the testing of the update will be queued and will be able to join the server as it becomes available.
  • If the user changed their password after April 28, 2017 11:59 PM UTC, authorization on the test server will only be available with the password that was used before the specified time.

Test Server 9.19 Features:

  • Payments for test server are not produced.
  • In this testing, the earnings of experience and credits do not increase.
  • Achievements on the test server will not be transferred to the main server.

We also inform you that during the testing of 9.19, scheduled technical work will be carried out on the test server:

  • First server - 07:00 (Moscow time) daily. The average duration of work is 25 minutes.
  • The second server - 8:00 (MSK) daily. The average duration of work is 25 minutes.
  • Note! The test server is subject to the same rules as the main game server, and therefore, there are penalties for violating these rules in accordance with the User Agreement.
  • The User Support Center does not review applications related to the Common Test.
  • Reminder: Download World client of Tanks, as well as its test versions and updates, are most reliable in a special section on the official game portal. Participation in testing 9.19:

  • Download (4 MB).
  • Run the installer which will download and install test version client 9.19 (7.45 GB for the SD version and an additional 4.85 GB for the HD version). When you run the installer, it will automatically offer to install the test client in a separate folder on your computer; you can also specify the installation directory yourself.
  • If you have the previous test version (9.18_test3) installed, then when you start the general test launcher, it will be updated: 372 MB for the SD version and an additional 186 MB for the HD version.

    As part of the first iteration of the reworking of combat missions, the visual and functional part of the combat missions and promotions window was significantly changed.

    Strategic goals include tasks that require significant effort (for example, marathons).

    Each task is displayed as a tile, and all of them are conveniently sorted - the most priority ones are placed first. A detailed description of each task can be seen by expanding the tile. Thanks to the new representation of tasks in the Hangar interface, it will be much easier for you to understand them!

    Various promotions are constantly taking place in the game - in most of them, prices for vehicles, equipment, transfer of experience and much more are reduced. And now stocks are available from the "Shop" menu item. Each promotion is presented in the form of a tile with detailed description the item on which the discount is valid, the discount amount and other information. All tiles are interactive - by clicking on any of them, you can use the promotion offer directly in the game client.

  • Clan management changes:

    In the new version, the possibilities for managing the clan will expand. Now, without leaving the game client, it will be possible to:

    • distribute gold from the clan treasury;
    • change the positions of clan players;
    • transfer control of the clan;
    • view extended statistics on clan players.
  • Stronghold Improvements 1.6:

Appearance of technology

A whole set will be available — up to 40 original decals (both historical and non-historical) that you can apply to Tier VIII premium vehicles and all Tier X vehicles. A maximum of two slots per card type will be available for applying decals, and decal size is subject to change.

Personal combat missions

Over the course of several updates after the release of The Second Front, we continued to improve combat missions based on statistics and your feedback. Version 1.3 will be no exception. The first thing that will be improved in this update is the LBZ interface, the elements of which will become clearer and more noticeable.

The conditions of the tasks of the "Second Front" will also be slightly adjusted. In addition, we will be making a major change to the first campaign. All "platoon" tasks will no longer be such, and their conditions will be adjusted so that they can be easily completed by playing "solo".

And finally, now you will be able to track progress on all tasks, and not just on the Second Front LBZ, as before. In the near future we will publish a separate article dedicated to LBZ changes- follow the news.

We continue to work on Grand Battle and keep track of statistics on this type of battle and its capabilities, as well as your feedback. It's time to test new map, which depicts an area typical of the central regions of the USSR (Belgorod-Kursk-Orel) in 1943. We are waiting for your feedback on the map itself and on the mode as a whole.


Map Changes

The update wouldn't be complete without map changes. This time, the edits will affect four locations.

Himmelsdorf

When leaving the hill, an intermediate cover has been added, which will make it possible to take additional positions for firing at the enemy. Also, to make shooting easier, decorative vegetation that had no game value was removed.

For the top team, the departure from behind the corner of the house at the beginning of the "banana" has changed: now it is more convenient and safe for firing.

The top team will get additional cover for the siding towards the railway tracks: the house with loopholes has been moved to the side to increase the safety of the sidings and increase the tactical significance of this position. Now it will become more convenient for firing at the enemy.

industrial zone

Houses have been added that will be used as intermediate shelters during the development of an attack from hangars on positions for tank destroyers.

To increase the comfort of combat operations, the location of rubble heaps in the area of ​​​​the small hangar, which is controlled by the upper base, has been adjusted.

In this part of the map, a house has been added and the lowland has been removed. This will balance the position with the similar position of the bottom base team.

Slightly changed the location of the coal piles in order to improve protection against shooting from the central hangar.

Changes have been made to the location of bushes and metal pipes in the alley in order to balance the teams in this direction.

Changed the angle of the slope of the hill to reduce the possibility of shooting through the passage between the large and small hangars.

Mannerheim line

On the "balcony" for the team from the top base, improved defensive positions: the number of possible shots from the center of the map has been reduced.

The pillbox located at this point on the map has been removed. Now the entrance to the "balcony", located on the upper base, will be more convenient.

The intermediate defensive position has been made more comfortable: the terrain has been leveled, the stone has been enlarged, and bushes have been added as additional cover.

Added additional bushes for firing from camouflaged positions.

An intermediate defensive position has been added not far from the positions for tank destroyers from the upper base in case the enemy seizes control over the coast.

The position to control the entrance to the base has become more convenient, which increases the defensive capabilities in case of loss of control over the coast.

Fisherman's bay

Covered the entrances to the city for each of the teams: now getting to the urban area will become safer thanks to a change in the terrain and the addition of new shelters that will hide vehicles from early detection. Also, to prevent early destruction of vehicles in battle, the spawn locations of vehicles at the beginning of the battle will be moved closer to the red line.

In the outskirts of the city, which are under the control of the upper team at the beginning of the battle, defensive positions have been improved: crossfire from the side of the upper city will be closed, which will allow you to focus on containing the forces of the enemy attacking the city.

New buildings will appear in the eastern part of the central village. They will serve as a shelter from detection and shooting for vehicles heading into the city, and will also allow safer movement from the village to the city.

In the city, between the houses, the shots from the side of the village are partially closed. This will allow the attacking team to more actively approach the enemy position without fear of crosses from the center of the map.

Vegetation was removed in the central part of the field for both teams, which served as additional cover for vehicles engaged in passive combat from the center of the map. Additional cover was added for the attacking team when developing an attack from the city to the base capture circle.

AI-controlled vehicles (only with the launch of the second public test 1.3)

At each general test in all regions, artificial intelligence-controlled vehicles (bots) will be added. As with the 1.2 Public Test, they will spawn on certain maps and technique I-V levels. Don't worry, you'll always know when you're playing with bots: their nicknames will start and end with a colon ":", and a special patch will be displayed next to the nicknames.

Testing artificial intelligence on the server, we will be able to create more game modes against it, similar to the "Dark Front". Soon bots will be added to the South American server of the NA region, as well as to the Australian server, which should solve the problem of long waits for battles at low levels.

These changes will not affect servers in the EU, RU, APAC regions (except Australia) and NA servers in the USA.

What is a test server and why is it needed?

If there are shortcomings, then they are corrected and the version of the new client is tested already under load. They “upload” the test version of the client to the backup server and open access for everyone. Again, the development staff is looking for errors and shortcomings. After - fix and "roll out" new version client.

How to get to the WOT test server

To get to the test server, you need to download a special installer 1.6.1 or install Wargaming Game Center. After that run it. He will offer to download a test client - download it and install it. Next folder will be created. World_of_Tanks_CT(in the directory where the player specified during installation).

Important! We will be able to change the crew only in the hangar, it will be impossible to do this in battle.

Why is this needed?

In order to pump the crew of different nations on the same machine. If the players like the idea, the developers promised to add more multinational tanks to the game.

Servers for the World of Tanks 1.6 game update test are dedicated servers where the playability of maps, vehicle characteristics, and general updates by ordinary wot players are checked. The test server is available only at a certain time, entry is possible only when the developers are ready when checking the performance of game innovations.

How it works?

The test server in the game World of Tanks 1.6.1 is a regular server where new maps, features, tanks and other innovations of the game are tested. It is impossible to get to the WOT test server when the player wants it - it opens only at a certain time when the game developers will need it.

What is a test server and why is it needed?

Test server is a repository where a copy is stored and reproduced, but with some changes. Of course, before making any changes to the game, they must first be tested.
The first ones see the changes in the staff of WOT developers, then they give access to super-testers. If there are shortcomings, then they are corrected and the version of the new client is tested already under load. They “upload” the test version of the client to the backup server and open access for everyone. Again, the development staff is looking for errors and shortcomings. After - fix and "roll out" a new version of the client.

How to get to the WOT test server

To get to the test server, you need to download a special installer 1.6.1 or install Wargaming Game Center. After that run it. He will offer to download a test client - download it and install it. Next folder will be created. World_of_Tanks_CT(in the directory where the player specified during installation).

Everything is ready to launch! We click on the label of the test client and get to the authorization page and enter the game. We go under our nickname and password, and select one of the two test servers.

  • Everything that you earn and buy on the test server will never be transferred to the main one.

Multinationality


The picture above shows the first multinational tank T-34-85 Rudy, which will be added to the hangar for all testers.

What is multinationality?
A new feature in the game World of Tanks, which allows you to put a Polish crew on the T-34-85 Rudy.

Important! We will be able to change the crew only in the hangar, it will be impossible to do this in battle.

Why is this needed?

In order to pump the crew of different nations on the same machine. If the players like the idea, the developers promised to add more multinational tanks to the game.
