Game description

Gothic and dark game, created based on card game Vampire: The Masquerade developed by White Wolf.

Unlike Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, it did not gain great fame among players, but at one time it was very warmly received and appreciated, and those who played it really liked it.

Many compare it with Diablo the same linear RPG and the same dungeon crawls, only all this happens in more improved graphics and with a third-person camera (or rather, the camera will not be at bird's eye view, but next to the hero) and a lot of emphasis is placed on to the plot.

Plot

The action takes place in the dark Middle Ages. The story tells about our brave GG Crusader Christophe Roumald. During the next campaign, he received an arrow in the knee and went to a nunnery. For treatment. Where he falls in love with the nun Anya, who looked after him. The love turned out to be mutual, but short. A crowd of ghouls breaks into a local monastery, causing riots and pogroms. Christophe explains to them that they are wrong, and for this he is sent into exile to the silver mines on behalf of Archbishop Geza, who also pines for Anya.

Christophe did his job well, and even killed a very respected vampire in wide circles, which earned him strong hatred from this society. He is supported by the head of the Bruja clans, Catherine the Wise, who almost gave him an amnesty, turning him into one of her own kind.

Christophe Roumald will have to get deeply involved in the affairs of the bloodsuckers and their lives, and accept that now his noble deeds will no longer be so noble when he feels the first signs of thirst...

Gameplay

Linear Diablo with standard dungeon crawling. There is also a very sophisticated RPG system, a huge arsenal of all sorts of bestiaries, weapons, gear, magic, and there are also standard stats on which you can spend experience points earned in battle: endurance, strength, magic, humanity, etc.

Humanity, by the way, is a local variant of "Humanity" from Bloodlines, which is very easy to lower by killing an innocent or a law enforcement officer, and very difficult to increase using only certain plot points. Humanity affects how often you lose control of your character, giving in to the call of the Beast, and the ending of the game.

Only, unlike Diablo, there is a lot of dialogue here, plot twists and intrigue. You even get to get into the world of the 19th century, where you can also replenish your arsenal of clothes and guns. Where else can you find a knight operating a minigun?

There is also multiplayer, which allows you to play with a live partner instead of a less thoughtful AI.

Finally, the game is very consistent with the dark style and has stunning graphics and a well-thought-out universe for 1999.

Bottom line

Perhaps Bloodlines is irreplaceable in its own way, but Redemption still seems more epic, given that it is easier for the plot to revolve around one already formed character and follow a single development line.

Despite the fact that many criticize the game for bugs, weak AI of partner characters in the group and the ability to save away from the dungeon (Although, it seems, the patch fixed this), many also praise it for the RPG system, various locations and monsters, the presence of multiplayer and amazing graphics for its time.

For fans of gothic, dark, atmospheric, vampire-themed games, RPGs like Diablo, and simply fans of the setting, Vampire: The Masquerade will definitely like it.





Just passed. In general, yes, there is nothing to recommend here, it is very outdated. The characters' pathfinding is very crooked, you try to get somewhere and the character bumps into someone or something and that's it. At times, due to carelessness, it was very difficult, the dungeon in the clock tower, and after that, I almost ruined it, I was left with 1 character without resources, and somehow, with great difficulty, I made it to the end. Necromantic skills female character I was also pulled out terribly once. It’s not interesting when there’s dungeon after dungeon, the plot is very superficial, the graphene is terrible, I didn’t quit because it was probably going through. I'll try the second part someday, but not now for sure.

Even if you don’t compare it to Bloodlines it’s very bad for our time. Too much grind, overacting actors, disgusting level design, dull leveling - everything is in place. However, for its time, top graphics, cool plot twists, and a rather large open 3D world. Overall: perhaps a masterpiece, which, unfortunately, has not stood the test of time.

This is one of those games that if you played at one time, then for those who play this thing becomes an excellent thing, despite the total disadvantages, but now it’s a little difficult to take on something like this, but not as much as some of the really old things... although I’m probably here on my own behalf I think it's difficult to give examples.

I played it as a child a long time ago and have been a godless fan ever since. No one can convince me that this is Best game by World of Darkness. I would even say this is an amazing game.

To tell the truth, there were almost no human creatures, the entire army of the rebellious sovereign Vukodlak ( verbatim Romanian.– Wolf Wool) consisted of vampires, werewolves and other evil spirits. Only dawn allowed the crusaders to gather strength and pick up the wounded and dead. When the sun showed its face, the creatures crawled into holes and did not appear until dusk. Few survived that night, but those who remained among the living remembered it forever - the enemy legions were stronger than ever, as if they received strength from the earth. If it were not for faith in God, the valiant knights would have died without ever seeing the dawn. A young crusader named Christophe also prayed for victory. He had recently joined the Lord's army, and since childhood he had harbored in his heart the dream of becoming a great warrior, a worthy defender of good. This time he was unlucky: an arrow, arriving from nowhere, found a narrow gap between the armor plates and entered deep into his stomach. Early in the morning, Christophe woke up and abruptly emerged from the bloody haze that filled his eyes. A small cozy room, sparsely furnished. Judging by the number of religious objects per square meter, it is quite possible to say that you are in a monastic cell of a rich monastery. A minute later, a young girl enters the room and congratulates you on your return to the world of the living. You can’t help but fall in love with someone like this – she’s too beautiful to be a nun and too young to spend her whole life locked up, serving God. Her name is Anezka, and only thanks to her patience and kindness did you survive after being seriously wounded. The nun reports that old Prague is besieged by evil spirits on all sides, you can’t go out into the streets in the evenings, children and women are scared to death. Something needs to be done about this!

For example, to start, stir up an old nest of local vampires in a silver mine. It is clear that no one is going to climb into this black hole, but you, as a crusader and just a good person, simply need to find out what is what, punish all the bad ones and free the innocent. Despite being seriously wounded, get out of bed and walk towards East Gate. The guards, of course, will marvel at your reckless courage and advise you not to climb into the hornet's nest. But if we have already started, then retreating is not appropriate. Moreover, adventure gives you the opportunity to make good money.

Silver Mines

The mine is divided into three levels, on each of them you will meet two, sometimes three types of monsters, the severity and number of which increases every minute. On the first level, beware of rat holes, small holes in the walls. The fact is that up to six rats can easily crawl out of one such crack and attack you from all sides. The best way to prevent a bite is to listen carefully to all suspicious squeaks and increase Brightness, fortunately this feature is available in the options. Check all chests for wealth. As in many role-playing and adventure games, cool armor and weapons can always be found in the dungeon, i.e. There is no need to spend money in forges. At the same level you will find a sword that will faithfully serve you for a long time until you acquire an inquisitorial ax with two blades.

On the second level you have to find and launch a complex gateway system. Lucky: all the parts are there and in excellent condition. Press the lever and wait until the water is completely drained. Just at this very moment you will be attacked by the mini-boss of the War Ghoul level, which is seriously different from past enemies, rats and slags, in its strength, weapons and intelligence. Defeating someone like this is a job for a real hero.

The third level is very short, there is nowhere to run. Enter the large hall and go downstairs to the bedchamber of the big Vampire, the local prince. Carefully, without turning left, go straight all the time, otherwise you will have to overcome two levels of the mine again. So, having been granted an audience with the Vampire Ahzra, quickly finish up your business by beheading the monster, and start getting ready to go home. I advise you to use all the bottles of holy water found in the mine, because this is the most ideal remedy for vampires. An ordinary sword also works well. Having defeated this weak creature, go into the very turn that I warned you about earlier, and you will find yourself at the very exit with a strange medallion in your hands. Return home to Anezka and receive all the honors you deserve.

At the same time, you can sell what you have mined to a local blacksmith. The most useful way to invest money is in liquids (more on them later). Now visit Abbot Giza in the Church of St. Thomas. An unpleasant-looking old man will give some instructions about the rules and ethics of combat (what does he understand about this!), warn about Anezka, more precisely, about the impossibility of loving her, and give a sacred cross as a reward. Probably with a piece of some holy mummy inside. Back then, these things were in fashion: medallions with St. Patrick, swords with Magdalene's finger and hair, etc. After the abbot, go, not paying attention to the threats, to your beloved Anezka, but even here the evil Giza will find you, sending you to patrol the night city as punishment.

Run through the streets until you find three zombies attacking civilians. After dealing with the violators, visit Anezka again and take part in her rescue. It is true what they say that in Prague even a monk in his cell cannot sleep peacefully. Meanwhile... The head of the Brujah vampire clan, Katerina, and her assistant Cozmo, have drawn up a cunning plan to capture all of Europe. The first step is to eliminate competing clans and destroy all open and secret opponents, and after that everything will go like clockwork. As a warrior, it was decided to choose a young crusader, who had recently easily destroyed an ancient vampire. There is only one catch - how to force the soldier of Christ to serve the devil? The answer is obvious - turn him into a vampire, and then he won’t get away with it. Without thinking twice, Katerina charms you as you wander down the street and bites you on the neck. Everything about a good life can be forgotten forever: from this moment you begin to serve your mistress and the family of Cain. No matter how much you resist, you won’t get far without blood; You can, of course, avoid sucking blood from the inhabitants and use fresh blood from the witch's shop. It’s not as convenient, but you won’t lose your human appearance.

(It should be noted that the clan that you are forced to serve, according to the Vampire role-playing system, is distinguished by its intelligence. Representatives of the Bruja, for example, are weak in the field of charming animals or mastering particularly cool magic. But they have a huge collection of knowledge and wisdom of Vampires descended from Cain - the first vampire.Katerina - the leader of the Bruja clan - sincerely hates those who get in her way, and prefers especially cunning ways to solve the problem.

But let's get back to the game. The first task in the service of the “intellectuals” from the fanged ones is the search for a lost fragment of a book.

Monastery

Having reinforced your strength in the witch's shop on the Golden Alley, stock up on blood for yourself and your partner, then run towards the monastery of the Kopadoshien clan. Ordinary monks live on the first floor; they are not going to attack you, so calmly walk by and look for real ghouls. And there are plenty of them on the first and second levels: they hide in the sand, and behind columns. It costs nothing to deal with them one by one, but they prefer to attack from all sides at once in a whole crowd. So keep an eye on your partner's health. Don't forget about chests, ruins precious stones And leather armor. At the third level you will again meet rats and another portion of bloodsuckers. Look carefully at the paintings in the large halls: one is holding the key to the wizard Marcus’s training room. Having found this item, pick up the magician's journal and the skull at the same time. Afterwards, open the door to the training room and deal with the old vampire. After his death, you will receive a fragment of the book and Katerina’s kind look.

Returning home to Prague, visit Anezka again, and then meet another woman named Libussa, she will send you to university for advanced training. The new boss task is not as simple as the previous one: you have to destroy a magical creature called Golem. A humanoid creature made of clay with a piece of Torah in its teeth. If you want to know more, read Jewish tales and legends. The object of the hunt is hiding in the Jewish Quarter, which is located north of the Center.

Golem

After finding the son of the rabbi who created the Golem, Mendel, ask about the method of destroying the monster. Having found out the details, follow the bloody trail towards the main square, they are already waiting for you there. Attack the Golem with all your might without using magic, and everything will work out very well. After removing the Torah page from the corpse, return to Mendel. He will decide to send her to a monastery as a symbol of reconciliation, so run to your old enemies.

When your courier job is over, return home to the university and rest in your coffin for a while. Nightmares will haunt you even in your sleep. When you wake up, you learn the most unpleasant news: several people, including Anezka, were kidnapped tonight and taken to an unknown direction. The only person capable of understanding what is happening is the prince, the all-powerful ruler of Prague. But he, a cunning soul, will refuse to just do something and will demand that he perform a simple task for him from the category of “bring me something from some deep and dark place...”. In this case, it is the hand of a long-dead saint. Why he needs it is not disclosed, but the emphasis is on its extreme importance. Well, there’s nothing you can do, you’ll have to run after her into the dungeon, the entrance to which is located in the cemetery. Remember where they killed the Golem? Here we go. Opening the large door, you will find yourself in a quiet kingdom of evil spirits. You will reach the end of the narrow street and meet the local mutant Joseph. He is mercantile to the point of horror and for a pass to the dungeon system he will ask for a sip of the blood of Mrs. Katerina herself. So first run to the university, and only then go into the sewer.

Relic Item – Holy Hand

General advice: do not come within arm's reach of vampires in red clothes - they will roast you alive and then pamper you with the heated blood. On the second level you will meet a bad man named Ophelios and a good item called an "axe". You will use it to fight off the ghouls. On the third level you will find yourself in a simple labyrinth of teleporters. The passage is given by the color of the door: red, yellow, blue, blue, yellow. Don't forget to read the legend about Cain, your great ancestor. In the finale, you will find the deceased, but not calmed down, King Wenceslas the First, who guards the hand. By killing him, you will become the owner of the artifact and some cash in diamonds.

Return to the prince's residence and present the obtained rarity. Now the royal person will not turn away and will tell where the kidnapped people were taken. The conversation will be long, so I’ll tell you right away what to do. Anezka and other residents were kidnapped by vampires from the Tremere clan and taken to secret place. If you don’t start looking for them right now, the trail can be lost forever. The only person who can give the coordinates of the kidnappers is a spy hiding in a shelter disguised as a pharmacy on Golden Alley.

Tremier spy

Enter the store and immediately look behind the curtain in the back room. This is where the enemy's headquarters is hidden, under the very noses of the guards and the prince! Advice regarding circles on the floor: usually Blood Stones are “born” from them - substitutes for large bottles, but there are also surprises in the form of “frogs” and elementals. So be careful. On the second level, free all prisoners and carefully read the manifesto. By the way, pick up a blue finger - you will need it. While clearing the premises on the third floor, you will meet a new friend - Eric, chained to the wall, a strange-looking Cro-Magnon with matted long hair. He will join your party and will be a worthy support in any battle. Boss Ardan hid on the fourth level. Before he dies, he will report that Anezka and others in custody were secretly transported to Vienna. Run to Katerina with this information. You will have a difficult verbal duel, during which you must defend your rights to a life separate from the clan. In this case, you will have to persuade Katerina to let you go to Vienna.

Vienna

The shelter in the snowy city is located at the very entrance and is called Church Heaven. All you have to do is turn the lever on the wall. Now that we have dealt with the coffins and chests, we go in search of Anezka. To begin with, in the Middle City we will visit a diner where you need to talk to the bartender. He will point to the alleged kidnapper named Orsi, a famous slave trader. Let's go to his estate. There you will meet three lovely vampire girls, but you won’t be able to talk to them now, because the host of the party will intercept you. Of course, he will be happy to help, but not disinterestedly, but for a small favor. For example, kill one vampire priest whose age is incalculable. His name is Luther Black(a direct analogy with Martin Luther...), and he is registered at the address: dungeon under the clock, level three, silver cross. Now let's talk about everything in order. First you will have to find the entrance to the labyrinth, which is hidden under the clock tower in the inner city. Login Inner House through a large window on the second floor. Through it you will freely move to the roof, and from there it’s not far to the clock. Everything is going great so far, but... As always, this is a “but”! The clock will strike six in the morning, and the horizon will glow with a pink haze - dawn. It is known that for a vampire there is nothing worse than an aspen stake and the sun. In this case, you will be overtaken by a second attack. I can assure you with almost one hundred percent certainty that all your friends will die like flies when crossing the first intersection. It doesn’t matter, it doesn’t cost anything to revive them later with a spell, but now let them lie in a coma and not get in the way. I give the solution to a puzzle with three levers: left up, middle down, right up. Here we are in the dungeon.

At the second level, everyone has already thoroughly prepared for your arrival and therefore puts up worthy resistance, pressing with both numbers and skill. Riddle with mirror buttons: from left to right - 1234, pause, 5. That's it, let's move on to the third floor, where Luther is hiding. He is guarded by serious comrades called Dark Hunters - ghosts with a long life bar and the same claws. The last piece of advice: you will still have to destroy Luther, for which crawl to the second floor and press two buttons with a difference of 5 seconds. We return to the exit, and there Mr. Orsi and his guard of Teutonic Knights have already prepared strong shackles. Yes, yes, you are a slave, accused of murdering a priest (not the best reward for work). While awaiting execution, you will spend time in the heart of the Teutonic castle under strict supervision. Only thanks to magic will the doors open and allow you to leave the fortress. Naturally, you will be resisted, but the thirst for freedom is stronger than any axes and maces. The best weapon against knights turned out to be the same ax that I spoke about at the beginning. At the very end of the dungeon, already at the surface, in the working room of the Lord Mage you will find a magical amulet that must be taken to Orvus for recognition, which serves the Hermes clan. He lives in a magic goods store.

After a long conversation, you will be asked for a magician's diary to perform the ritual of exorcism; you will find it in a small castle in the southern part of the city. Only with his help will there be a chance to overthrow the Nasty and wipe it off the face of the earth.

Small Castle

The castle is divided into three parts: a library, a laboratory and a gargoyle rookery. There is one significant difference between them - the number of monsters and their composition. I advise you to start with the library, it will be easier to go through everything else. We go to the right and begin the methodical and leisurely gutting of the insides of the library halls. The most terrible enemy here is the Vampire Lord. Possessing a large set of spells and good blood, he poses a real danger. The only three Lords on all sides are more terrible than him. At the end you will find a triangular plate white– this is part of the key to the upper room. Enter the teleporter and, once at the entrance, attach the found artifact to the drawing on the floor. All that remains is to find two more parts. Both the laboratory and the library are all the same; I won’t dwell on the details. I'll move on to the rookery. There are no magicians here, the enemies will be huge stone half-hawks, half-lions with huge leathery wings. It is not recommended to approach them close; it is best to use spells lying in abundance in the corners. At the end a big bad thing will happen - the boss of the level Etrius will turn your best friend Erica is in a gargoyle, so before the final battle you will have to kill your party comrade. We return to the city.

Castle Vysengrad

As a result, you will be sent again, into the thick of it. And this place is the ancestral castle of the Vampire nobility, which rises as an impregnable stronghold on the mountain near the city (Vyzengrad - Isengard, there is something Tolkienistic in this - approx. ed.). The task is stupidly simple - kill everyone who comes your way. Before you go there, stock up on arrows and a crossbow and try not to waste them until the third level, where you will meet the largest monster, Vozkhd. He is so huge that he does not fit into the narrow corridor and is only able to move around a small hall. Take advantage of this and turn it into a giant pincushion (looking ahead, I will say that there are three of them in the last level). After his terrible death, crawl to the fourth level and meet your beloved. The ending is a little tragic, but... is it the end?

1999, London

Too many years have passed for times to have changed dramatically. Swords hang only in museums, and people use devices like “a piece of iron that spits out nine millimeters of scalding lead.” It would seem that there is no place here for a medieval vampire monster, a decrepit shadow from the past. But a vampire, like any other creature, wants to live as long as possible. Fortunately, good people were found who dug up the body from under the ruins of the ancient castle. There is too much knowledge ahead, too much blood and other unidentified nastiness.

First, get out of the labyrinths of a modern building. There is a lot of good stuff outlined here for successful progress. Oddly enough, melee weapons, the same ax or sword, are much more useful and deadly in battle than a shotgun or some kind of mini-gun. Please keep this in mind as you walk through. When you find your "savior", Dr. Leo, give him what he deserves and start looking for the cargo delivered from Prague by cargo ship. First, visit your local vampire club and hire a punk named Pink as your companion, i.e. Pink. A good fighter, but extremely uneducated and stupid. Even somehow suspicious. Together with him, you must clear the local brothel from the vampires of the Setite clan who have settled there.

Setite Lair

In the brothel, decorated in ancient Egyptian style, talk to the girl in red. She also won’t refuse to join two strong guys. So, we go down to the storage room and open the secret entrance using the small button on the floor. Look for it in front of the large paintings. It feels like the owner of the Star Gate, Mr. Ra, is about to jump out from around the corner and show you Kuzka’s mother. Thank God, this will not happen, but worse things will happen, for example, a horde of maddened Egyptians in dresses. The main spell they use is Awe. After it, you won’t be able to attack or bite, because everyone here is our friend until death. An awful lot of people came running towards you and your group of comrades; there were never so many on the Wings. But you still have to kill everyone, how long will it take?! Four hours, no less. In general, on the fourth level you will find the owner of a brothel (or temple), who strongly resembles Cleopatra and Nefertiti at the same time. Armed with a staff made of pure gold, she does not look like a strong warrior. That’s right, her power is in magic, by the way, based on the same Awe-Blind Eye. You'll have a hard time, that's for sure. The best remedy against it is a melee weapon or a flamethrower (if you have enough money for it). Let one distract and deprive the rest of the party of points from behind. It turns out that killing her does not mean killing her at all. You will simply deprive her of her bodily shell, which is easily restored. Like our Koshchei, her death is hidden behind seven locks, namely in the Tower of London.

London Tower

Well, let's leave the ruined nest and head to rest in Bridge Heaven, do not forget to visit the trailer of a local homeless person - an arms dealer, he will easily provide discounts for such a famous warrior like you. Before heading to the Tower, run into Black Moon and stock up on antidotes, because the main and most numerous enemies will be poisonous spiders of different sizes: from newly born ones to mature, overgrown queens. On the fourth and last level of the castle (passing through the levels will not be difficult, just a waste of time) you will find Lucretia’s heart hidden in a jug. The sweet moment of revenge has come, run to the brothel. A guard posted at the door will invite you all to enter. Some kind of trick? No, it seems like everything worked out. Step forward and in the blink of an eye you will be transported to the central hall. As soon as you listen to the girl’s voluptuous speeches and give your heart under hypnosis, the charming creature will turn into a giant Cobra. You'll have to fight back, otherwise it won't work. In the end, the snake will curl itself into rings, and you will destroy the heart (eat it or just tear it up - it’s your choice). Another piece of universal evil has been dropped into the recycle bin of Eternity, you can continue your journey through the seas of blood and mountains of corpses. We run to the indicated location of the transport ship with slaves, that is, to the pier.

New York

Hidden unnoticed in the hold, you will cross the Atlantic and end up in America. The city of the Big Apple, also known as New York. New adventures await you ahead. Are you tired yet? If not, then I will continue: the first person from the American nation on your way will be a FBI man. More precisely, two at once, and both are dead. Picking them up ID cards, you can easily replace the photo (no need to run anywhere) and go in search of the code for the Main Computer. This must be done in order to penetrate the factory of Orsi, the same one from Vienna... First of all, save the green vampire nosferatu from certain death. And he, quite by chance, will have a hacker acquaintance. Fate is an interesting thing. Devnul's apartment is located right next to the taxi, at the first turn, and you can enter the apartment via a ladder. By the way, here you can sleep in a coffin for free. A crazy friend will give you an incomprehensible device for selecting a code and make you crawl with this unit into the sewer. Entrance there is free, through any hatch on the street. Basic tip: Don't miss any control panels because on some you will have to turn various knobs and valves. At the fourth level you will face a very strong enemy - an albino alligator. Despite Pink's boastful remark about the boots, it's not that simple. Never allow alligators to attack you from both sides - this means instant death in strong jaws. If you managed to cope with the vile underground creatures, go to the next level and take part in a dispute with the Under Prince. An extremely disgusting and incomprehensible person.

Immediately behind his corpse you will see a small box on the wall and a ladder going up. Attach the hacker contraption to the remote control and crawl out into the light of day. Returning to Devnul, you will receive all the information you are interested in. Applications can be found in warehouse, owned by the gangster Giovanni. You will find him on the last level in a luxuriously furnished office, but you still have to crawl there, which is not at all easy. The road will be constantly blocked by strong vampire troops from Giovanni’s squad. The creatures of Hell, armed with the latest technology, are terrible in anger. It's time for a surprise: Pink is not Pink at all, but an enemy agent, and none other than his old friend Wilhem from Prague will tell you this. After exchanging one soldier for another, pick up the registration log on the mafioso’s table and find the cargo from Prague. A trail of blood leads to the hotel.

Orsi

There, day and night, the artist Alessandra, your companion’s boss, paints bloody landscapes. She will tell you about Orsi's party, which you should definitely attend. Just at this very time, a whole group of cool comrades will come for the painting. She will rush into the attack and instantly die by your hand (as planned in the plot). Take the painting as a pass and visit the party at the Orsi meat processing plant.

To find the host of the party, you have to go through three floors of a well-guarded building, kill an incredible number of people and send more vampires to the next world than there have been books about them. At least, there will definitely be no rest, just have time to swing an ax, reload a shotgun and drink fresh blood. On the fourth level, a serious conversation will take place with Orsi himself, but he will not reveal the terrible secret and will begin to attack everyone indiscriminately. Put him to sleep and go down to the first floor, there are three old concubines of Orsi, beauties from the party, standing and waiting for you. Using brute force, extort from them the location of the church, where Vukodlak - universal evil and the blackness of the soul of Satan - will come to life any minute. As luck would have it, the place is a stone's throw from the factory, in the old Church of the Flesh, which lies in ruins behind bars.

You know, you shouldn’t go there right away, without preparation. First, visit the gunsmith's van and the "pharmacy." The development of magical abilities directly depends on the coolness of the mind, i.e. characteristics Intelligence. Some spells have restrictions not only on blood, but also on the level of knowledge. Let's say Fire Rain can fall on the ground only at the will of a magician with a “brain size of one hundred cubic centimeters.” The second addiction breaks all the rules role playing games and allows you to open a serious spell only after memorizing an easier one. It’s extremely inconvenient, I’ll tell you, especially because sometimes there’s simply nowhere to get the extra two thousand points, and you can’t save up. You can get new spells and disciplines at your disposal by looking for little green books throughout the levels. If we talk about the importance (order) of spells, then I would put Feeding, Healing and Stealing Blood at the forefront, followed by attacking fire spells. And finally, in third place - Charm and invisibility. Everything else is beautiful trinkets.

Few survived that night, but those who remained among the living remembered it forever - the enemy legions were stronger than ever, as if they received strength from the earth. If it were not for faith in God, the valiant knights would have died without ever seeing the dawn. A young crusader named Christophe also prayed for victory. He had recently joined the Lord's army, and since childhood he had harbored in his heart the dream of becoming a great warrior, a worthy defender of good. This time he was unlucky: an arrow, arriving from nowhere, found a narrow gap between the armor plates and entered deep into his stomach. The nun reports that old Prague is besieged by evil spirits on all sides, you can’t go out into the streets in the evenings, children and women are scared to death. Something needs to be done about this!

For example, to start, stir up an old nest of local vampires in a silver mine. It is clear that no one is going to climb into this black hole, but you, as a crusader and just a good person, simply need to find out what is what, punish all the bad ones and free the innocent. Despite being seriously wounded, get out of bed and walk towards East Gate. The guards, of course, will marvel at your reckless courage and advise you not to climb into the hornet's nest. But if we have already started, then retreating is not appropriate. Moreover, adventure gives you the opportunity to make good money.

Silver Mines

The mine is divided into three levels, on each of them you will meet two, sometimes three types of monsters, the severity and number of which increases every minute. On the first level, beware of rat holes, small holes in the walls. The fact is that up to six rats can easily crawl out of one such crack and attack you from all sides. The best way to prevent a bite is to listen carefully to all suspicious squeaks and increase Brightness, fortunately this feature is available in the options. Check all chests for wealth. As in many role-playing and adventure games, cool armor and weapons can always be found in the dungeon, i.e. There is no need to spend money in forges. At the same level you will find a sword that will faithfully serve you for a long time until you acquire an inquisitorial ax with two blades.

On the second level you have to find and launch a complex gateway system. Lucky: all the parts are there and in excellent condition. Press the lever and wait until the water is completely drained. Just at this very moment you will be attacked by the mini-boss of the War Ghoul level, which is seriously different from past enemies, rats and slags, in its strength, weapons and intelligence. Defeating someone like this is a job for a real hero.

The third level is very short, there is nowhere to run. Enter the large hall and go downstairs to the bedchamber of the big Vampire, the local prince. Carefully, without turning left, go straight all the time, otherwise you will have to overcome two levels of the mine again. So, having been granted an audience with the Vampire Ahzra, quickly finish up your business by beheading the monster, and start getting ready to go home. I advise you to use all the bottles of holy water found in the mine, because this is the most ideal remedy for vampires. An ordinary sword also works well. Having defeated this weak creature, go into the very turn that I warned you about earlier, and you will find yourself at the very exit with a strange medallion in your hands. Return home to Anezka and receive all the honors you deserve.

At the same time, you can sell what you have mined to a local blacksmith. The most useful way to invest money is in liquids (more on them later). Now visit Abbot Giza in the Church of St. Thomas. An unpleasant-looking old man will give some instructions about the rules and ethics of combat (what does he understand about this!), warn about Anezka, more precisely, about the impossibility of loving her, and give a sacred cross as a reward. The first step is to eliminate competing clans and destroy all open and secret opponents, and after that everything will go like clockwork. As a warrior, it was decided to choose a young crusader, who had recently easily destroyed an ancient vampire. There is only one catch - how to force the soldier of Christ to serve the devil? The answer is obvious - turn him into a vampire, and then he won’t get away with it. Without thinking twice, Katerina charms you as you wander down the street and bites you on the neck. Everything about a good life can be forgotten forever: from this moment you begin to serve your mistress and the family of Cain. No matter how much you resist, you won’t get far without blood; You can, of course, avoid sucking blood from the inhabitants and use fresh blood from the witch's shop. It’s not as convenient, but you won’t lose your human appearance.

It costs nothing to deal with them one by one, but they prefer to attack from all sides at once in a whole crowd. So keep an eye on your partner's health. Don't forget about chests, gem drops and leather armor. At the third level you will again meet rats and another portion of bloodsuckers. Look carefully at the paintings in the large halls: one is holding the key to the wizard Marcus’s training room. Having found this item, pick up the magician's journal and the skull at the same time. The new boss task is not as simple as the previous one: you have to destroy a magical creature called Golem. A humanoid creature made of clay with a piece of Torah in its teeth. Golem

After finding the son of the rabbi who created the Golem, Mendel, ask about the method of destroying the monster. Having found out the details, follow the bloody trail towards the main square, they are already waiting for you there. Attack the Golem with all your might without using magic, and everything will work out very well. After removing the Torah page from the corpse, return to Mendel. He will decide to send her to a monastery as a symbol of reconciliation, so run to your old enemies.

When your courier job is over, return home to the university and rest in your coffin for a while. Nightmares will haunt you even in your sleep. When you wake up, you learn the most unpleasant news: several people, including Anezka, were kidnapped tonight and taken to an unknown direction. The only person capable of understanding what is happening is the prince, the all-powerful ruler of Prague. But he, a cunning soul, will refuse to just do something and will demand that he perform a simple task for him from the category of “bring me something from some deep and dark place...”. In this case, it is the hand of a long-dead saint. Why he needs it is not disclosed, but the emphasis is on its extreme importance. Well, there’s nothing you can do, you’ll have to run after her into the dungeon, the entrance to which is located in the cemetery. Remember where they killed the Golem? Here we go. Opening the large door, you will find yourself in a quiet kingdom of evil spirits. You will reach the end of the narrow street and meet the local mutant Joseph. He is mercantile to the point of horror and for a pass to the dungeon system he will ask for a sip of the blood of Mrs. Katerina herself. So first run to the university, and only then go into the sewer.

Relic Item – Holy Hand

General advice: do not come within arm's reach of vampires in red clothes - they will roast you alive and indulge in the heated blood afterwards. By killing him, you will become the owner of the artifact and some cash in diamonds.

While clearing the premises on the third floor, you will meet a new friend - Eric, chained to the wall, a strange-looking Cro-Magnon with matted long hair. He will join your party and will be a worthy support in any battle. Boss Ardan hid on the fourth level. Before he dies, he will report that Anezka and others in custody were secretly transported to Vienna. Run to Katerina with this information. You will have a difficult verbal duel, during which you must defend your rights to a life separate from the clan. In this case, you will have to persuade Katerina to let you go to Vienna.

There you will meet three lovely vampire girls, but you won’t be able to talk to them now, because the host of the party will intercept you. Of course, he will be happy to help, but not disinterestedly, but for a small favor. For example, kill one vampire priest whose age is incalculable. His name is Luther Black(a direct analogy with Martin Luther...), and he is registered at the address: dungeon under the clock, level three, silver cross. Now let's talk about everything in order. First you will have to find the entrance to the labyrinth, which is hidden under the clock tower in the inner city. Login Inner House through a large window on the second floor. Through it you will freely move to the roof, and from there it’s not far to the clock. Everything is going great so far, but... As always, this is a “but”! The clock will strike six in the morning, and the horizon will glow with a pink haze - dawn. It is known that for a vampire there is nothing worse than an aspen stake and the sun. In this case, you will be overtaken by a second attack. I can assure you with almost one hundred percent certainty that all your friends will die like flies when crossing the first intersection. I give the solution to a puzzle with three levers: left up, middle down, right up. Here we are in the dungeon.

At the second level, everyone has already thoroughly prepared for your arrival and therefore puts up worthy resistance, pressing with both numbers and skill. He is guarded by serious comrades called Dark Hunters - ghosts with a long life bar and the same claws. The last piece of advice: you will still have to destroy Luther, for which crawl to the second floor and press two buttons with a difference of 5 seconds. We return to the exit, and there Mr. Orsi and his guard of Teutonic Knights have already prepared strong shackles. Yes, yes, you are a slave, accused of murdering a priest (not the best reward for work). While awaiting execution, you will spend time in the heart of the Teutonic castle under strict supervision. Only thanks to magic will the doors open and allow you to leave the fortress. Naturally, you will be resisted, but the thirst for freedom is stronger than any axes and maces. The best weapon against knights turned out to be the same ax that I spoke about at the beginning. At the very end of the dungeon, already at the surface, in the working room of the Lord Mage you will find a magical amulet that must be taken to Orvus for recognition, which serves the Hermes clan. He lives in a magic goods store.

After a long conversation, you will be asked for a magician's diary to perform the ritual of exorcism; you will find it in a small castle in the southern part of the city. Only with his help will there be a chance to overthrow the Nasty and wipe it off the face of the earth.

Small Castle

The castle is divided into three parts: a library, a laboratory and a gargoyle rookery. There is one significant difference between them - the number of monsters and their composition. I advise you to start with the library, it will be easier to go through everything else. We go to the right and begin the methodical and leisurely gutting of the insides of the library halls. The most terrible enemy here is the Vampire Lord. Possessing a large set of spells and good blood, he poses a real danger. The only three Lords on all sides are more terrible than him. At the end you will find a white triangular plate - this is part of the key to the upper room. Enter the teleporter and, once at the entrance, attach the found artifact to the drawing on the floor. All that remains is to find two more parts. Both the laboratory and the library are all the same; I won’t dwell on the details. I'll move on to the rookery. There are no magicians here, the enemies will be huge stone half-hawks, half-lions with huge leathery wings. It is not recommended to approach them close; it is best to use spells lying in abundance in the corners. At the end, a big bad thing will happen - the level boss Etrius will turn your best friend Eric into a gargoyle, so before the final battle you will have to kill your party comrade. We return to the city.

Castle Vysengrad

As a result, you will be sent again, into the thick of it. And this place is the ancestral castle of the Vampire nobility, which rises as an impregnable stronghold on the mountain near the city (Vyzengrad - Isengard, there is something Tolkienistic in this - approx. ed.). The task is stupidly simple - kill everyone who comes your way. Before you go there, stock up on arrows and a crossbow and try not to waste them until the third level, where you will meet the largest monster, Vozkhd. He is so huge that he does not fit into the narrow corridor and is only able to move around a small hall. Take advantage of this and turn it into a giant pincushion (looking ahead, I will say that there are three of them in the last level). After his terrible death, crawl to the fourth level and meet your beloved. The ending is a little tragic, but... is it the end?

Too many years have passed for times to have changed dramatically. Swords hang only in museums, and people use devices like “a piece of iron that spits out nine millimeters of scalding lead.” It would seem that there is no place here for a medieval vampire monster, a decrepit shadow from the past. But a vampire, like any other creature, wants to live as long as possible. Fortunately, good people were found who dug up the body from under the ruins of the ancient castle. There is too much knowledge ahead, too much blood and other unidentified nastiness.

First, get out of the labyrinths of a modern building. There is a lot of good stuff outlined here for successful progress. Oddly enough, melee weapons, the same ax or sword, are much more useful and deadly in battle than a shotgun or some kind of mini-gun. Please keep this in mind as you walk through. When you find your "savior", Dr. Leo, give him what he deserves and start looking for the cargo delivered from Prague by cargo ship. First, visit your local vampire club and hire a punk named Pink as your companion, i.e. Pink. A good fighter, but extremely uneducated and stupid. Even somehow suspicious. Together with him, you must clear the local brothel from the vampires of the Setite clan who have settled there.

In the brothel, decorated in ancient Egyptian style, talk to the girl in red. She also won’t refuse to join two strong guys. So, we go down to the storage room and open the secret entrance using the small button on the floor. Look for it in front of the large paintings. It feels like the owner of the Star Gate, Mr. Ra, is about to jump out from around the corner and show you Kuzka’s mother. Thank God, this will not happen, but worse things will happen, for example, a horde of maddened Egyptians in dresses. The main spell they use is Awe. After it, you won’t be able to attack or bite, because everyone here is our friend until death. You will simply deprive her of her bodily shell, which is easily restored. Like our Koshchei, her death is hidden behind seven locks, namely in the Tower of London.

Step forward and in the blink of an eye you will be transported to the central hall. As soon as you listen to the girl’s voluptuous speeches and give your heart under hypnosis, the charming creature will turn into a giant Cobra. You'll have to fight back, otherwise it won't work. In the end, the snake will curl itself into rings, and you will destroy the heart (eat it or just tear it up - it’s your choice). Another piece of universal evil has been dropped into the recycle bin of Eternity, you can continue your journey through the seas of blood and mountains of corpses. We run to the indicated location of the transport ship with slaves, that is, to the pier.

New York

Hidden unnoticed in the hold, you will cross the Atlantic and end up in America. The city of the Big Apple, also known as New York. New adventures await you ahead. Are you tired yet? If not, then I will continue: the first person from the American nation on your way will be a FBI man. More precisely, two at once, and both are dead. Picking them up ID cards, you can easily replace the photo (no need to run anywhere) and go in search of the code for the Main Computer. This must be done in order to penetrate the factory of Orsi, the same one from Vienna... First of all, save the green vampire nosferatu from certain death. And he, quite by chance, will have a hacker acquaintance. Fate is an interesting thing. Devnul's apartment is located right next to the taxi, at the first turn, and you can enter the apartment via a ladder. By the way, here you can sleep in a coffin for free. A crazy friend will give you an incomprehensible device for selecting a code and make you crawl with this unit into the sewer. Entrance there is free, through any hatch on the street. Basic tip: Don't miss any control panels because on some you will have to turn various knobs and valves. At the fourth level you will face a very strong enemy - an albino alligator. Despite Pink's boastful remark about the boots, it's not that simple. Never allow alligators to attack you from both sides - this means instant death in strong jaws. If you managed to cope with the vile underground creatures, go to the next level and take part in a dispute with the Under Prince. An extremely nasty and incomprehensible person.

You will find him on the last level in a luxuriously furnished office, but you still have to crawl there, which is not at all easy. The road will be constantly blocked by strong vampire troops from Giovanni’s squad. The creatures of Hell, armed with the latest technology, are terrible in anger. It's time for a surprise: Pink is not Pink at all, but an enemy agent, and none other than his old friend Wilhem from Prague will tell you this. After exchanging one soldier for another, pick up the registration log on the mafioso’s table and find the cargo from Prague. A trail of blood leads to the hotel.

Orsi

When you enter the hotel lobby, talk to the head waiter and find out from him some details about Mr. Orsi’s stay here. It turns out that he lived in the penthouse, which is now offered to you to rent. Under the pretext of inspecting the premises, take the elevator to the top floor. There you will find an artist's palette in one of the rooms, which definitely makes you think of visiting the hotel's storage room... I don't remember why it does. There, day and night, the artist Alessandra, your companion’s boss, paints bloody landscapes. She will tell you about Orsi's party, which you should definitely attend. Just at this very time, a whole group of cool comrades will come for the painting. She will rush into the attack and instantly die by your hand (as planned in the plot). Take the painting as a pass and visit the party at the Orsi meat processing plant.

To find the host of the party, you have to go through three floors of a well-guarded building, kill an incredible number of people and send more vampires to the next world than there have been books about them. At least, there will definitely be no rest, just have time to swing an ax, reload a shotgun and drink fresh blood. On the fourth level, a serious conversation will take place with Orsi himself, but he will not reveal the terrible secret and will begin to attack everyone indiscriminately. Put him to sleep and go down to the first floor, there are three old concubines of Orsi, beauties from the party, standing and waiting for you. Using brute force, extort from them the location of the church, where Vukodlak - universal evil and the blackness of the soul of Satan - will come to life any minute. As luck would have it, the place is a stone's throw from the factory, in the old Church of the Flesh, which lies in ruins behind bars.

You know, you shouldn’t go there right away, without preparation. First, visit the gunsmith's van and the "pharmacy." The required set includes the following items: large-caliber firearms with a large amount of ammunition, first aid kits (test tubes with blood) of all kinds, a couple of chainsaws, a two-handed ax and a couple of scrolls with an awakening spell. If you reach the second level half-dead, consider yourself very lucky. So many War Ghouls and vampires just make you sick, and when different smaller creatures attack from all sides, there’s no way to save me at all. But that’s why this is the finale, to amaze with its coolness and pin the hero to the wall. So, Lord Vukodlak is hiding on the second level in a large stone coffin. Naturally, like any conqueror of the Universe, he will not take you into account and will simply laugh. Let's see who will laugh last. Use most of the firearms, a couple of spells, but don't completely deplete the pool. Give preference to saw-cutting tools. In the end, Vukodlak will tremble, and this moment is painfully long, and will overthrow you into the abyss to another level. Let's run back. Along the way, stock up on blood and ammunition.

When you get to the memory room, talk to all Anezka's heads, listen to how bad they felt without you, and the doors will open. And here is an old friend, Vukodlak’s concubine Libussa. This time, for some reason, she will offer help and ask you to follow her. Agree, nothing bad will happen, you’ll just find yourself in a warehouse in a second. Get your fill of goodies and return to the throne room. This time Vukodlak will take the form of a large gargoyle and will attack with its jaws and clawed paws. I noticed an amazing thing: for some reason the boss prefers to chase only you, completely ignoring his companions. Take advantage of this at least at first, arm the strongest with chainsaws and flamethrowers, and get ready to distract the monster. It worked for me... And one last piece of advice: don't get close to Vukodlak.

Development of magic

The development of magical abilities directly depends on the coolness of the mind, i.e. characteristics Intelligence. Some spells have restrictions not only on blood, but also on the level of knowledge. Let's say Fire Rain can fall on the ground only at the will of a magician with a “brain size of one hundred cubic centimeters.” The second addiction crosses out all the rules of role-playing games and allows you to open a serious spell only after memorizing an easier one. It’s extremely inconvenient, I’ll tell you, especially because sometimes there’s simply nowhere to get the extra two thousand points, and you can’t save up. You can get new spells and disciplines at your disposal by looking for little green books throughout the levels. If we talk about the importance (order) of spells, then I would put Feeding, Healing and Stealing Blood at the forefront, followed by attacking fire spells. And finally, in third place - Charm and invisibility. Everything else is beautiful trinkets.

Multiplayer

“Vampire” couldn’t do without multiplayer, so if you’re tired of running alone with stupid computer partners, then go online and get ready for a new Adventure with a capital A. There will always be people who want to keep you company. There are two multi-player adventure scenarios: Leaves to Three and To Curse the Darkness, each of which will offer you an original story unfolding in single-player levels. More details about each one.

Leaves of Three will take you to New York in 1996, in a small area of ​​Manhattan. The game will involve three to five beginning players and a Master (Story Teller). All adherents of the Sabbat cult, which occupied almost all of North America, will become enemies. According to the time frame, the plot is squeezed between the moment of your revival and the departure of the ship (see Single Player).

Another Chronicle called Curse to Darkness covers a more global time period and embodies the struggle of good vampires against bad Nosferatu. Along the way, you will have to run through the labyrinths of the Middle Ages in search of an artifact trinket. In general, enjoy the life and clean air of the European town of Temisvar in the year 1100. About the party: it can include any number of people with different levels of coolness, as always, Story Teller is desirable.

Company White Wolf widely known in the West for her masterpieces in paper adventure games: Werewolf, Hunter, Mage, Wraith and actually Vampire. For many of them, both computer and console games have already been made, moving across America and Europe with great strides. Maybe someday they will get to us. By the way, now in the depths of Activision a new adventure action game based on the work of “White Wolf” is being born - Werewolf. The computer version differs significantly from its paper prototype both in the complicated calculations of experience, attack and defense characteristics, and in the presence of new spells and characters. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you much about the “Vampire” in paper and pencil, since I didn’t have the honor of playing it myself, but you can find all the information you’re interested in on the website I mentioned (see the “Internet” sidebar). Fortunately, there’s a lot of stuff written there for several weeks of reading and comprehension.

Plot

The plot of the game is dedicated to the confrontation between two vampire clans - the Brujah (Promethians) and the Tzimisce (or Tzimisce). But the player also has to fight against many other clans. The game also has a love “note”. And the main motive for the actions of Christophe (the main character) is precisely his love for the nun - Aneska (or Anechka). Which he meets in the convent of the Holy Cross, located in Prague. In this sense, the game is distinguished by a special spirit of drama and gothicism, although this is more for “story lovers”. And it is this spirit that is further reinforced by the game’s soundtrack.

Gameplay

During the game the player will have to visit medieval Prague and Vienna, as well as modern New York and London.

Characters

During the game the player will have to control a group of characters. One of them is the main one and the player will go with this character through his transformation from human to vampire. This character's name is Christophe Romuald, he is a crusader. After he was hit by an arrow fired by an infidel, Christophe found himself in the convent of the Holy Cross, which is located in Prague. Soon the temple is attacked by ugly monsters, which Christophe manages to repel. From local residents, Christophe learns that monsters are coming to the city from an abandoned silver mine located outside the city. Because of Christophe's murder of a powerful Tzimisce vampire, the crusader became not only a folk hero, but also a serious problem for the vampires of Prague. The head of the Promethean Brujah clan, Catherine the Wise, decides to use Christophe's fighting skills and talents to her advantage and turns him into a vampire. Connected with Catherine by mystical blood ties, Christophe assists the Prometheans, but continues to look for Aneska.

Although the character Christoph Romuald is the main one, during the course of the game the player will have to control a party of vampires (2-4 vampires), between whom you can switch.

RPG system

The game uses adapted for computer game system for tabletop role-playing games The World of Darkness old edition (used until 2004).

At the core role system games as it should be typical for many games RPG genre, gaining so-called “experience”. The character has certain characteristics - dexterity, strength, intelligence, humanity, etc. After destroying the enemy, the player receives a certain amount of “experience” that can be spent on increasing the character’s characteristics and improving/obtaining new skills. However, the game does not increase the hero's levels. Special attention deserves such a character characteristic as humanity. It is a scale, the divisions of which decrease in the case of the killing of civilians or law enforcement officers. You can increase the humanity indicator only at certain moments in the plot. If all the scale bars disappear, the game ends. Also, the humanity indicator affects the character’s self-control in battle and the ending of the game.

Mystic Abilities (Blood Disciplines)

The player can use his mystical abilities (Disciplines), which consume a certain amount of blood (analogous to mana). Among these abilities are the ability to strengthen your body, become invisible, control the minds of creatures, as well as several magical styles, such as controlling fire, cold, blood, electricity, undead and teleportation to Haven.

The main character's refuge in Vampire: The Masquerade- Redemption is a small room (room) hidden from sunlight, intended for the “daytime sleep” of vampires, where you can save the game, add/change equipment, or distribute experience points to improve characteristics.

Initially, Christophe has three clan disciplines: Might, Celerity and Presence. (In the original tabletop setting, Power and Presence do not spend the vampire’s precious blood, and swiftness spends one point per turn. At the same time, the vampire has from ten to 20 blood points, depending on the range of kinship to Cain) He also has a branch common to all vampires, regardless of the clan. This includes the abilities of Healing, nutrition and increasing the hero’s characteristics. (Based on the experience of the game, the characteristics of the hero have little effect on his effectiveness; most likely, they are intended only to put on this or that thing, or to learn a new discipline.) In the same branch there are abilities that are very different from the original setting. Such as: Awakening from torpor and teleporting to a shelter. (Although the first ability can be possessed by vampires of the Salubri clan, as for the second, its name is reminiscent of the abilities of the Lasombra elders)

Let's return to clan disciplines. At the beginning of the game, the most effective ability is Awe from the Presence branch. (It is best to upgrade it from Winhelm, and for Christoph to accumulate experience points for a stronger version of this Discipline) With this ability, you can lure out enemies one by one, after which you can easily deal with them or use them for blood. Advice: Don’t drink all the blood, it’s better to kill the enemy, otherwise you won’t get experience for him). This ability also has a good effect on unsuspecting passers-by on the streets at night. They safely follow the vampire to a secluded corner where the guards will not see them. The next most useful skill is Celerity. (Again, it makes sense to level up from Windhelm first, and later from Christophe) This ability increases attack and movement speed. Very convenient for overcoming a long distance, for example, to get out of a dungeon without spending a scroll) By the time the coterie (a group of allied vampires) meets the forces of the Tremere clan, Christophe will be able to pump up Majesty well, the last ability of the Presence branch. Thanks to her, all enemies will tremble before the vampire, frozen before his greatness. (Well, if by this time Christophe can buy himself special artifacts that reduce the cost of disciplines, then he will be able to use it more often) The ability is effective against a group of enemies and allows you to deal with enemies more easily and quickly. The last discipline - Might allows you to deal more damage. Combined with swiftness, this skill makes the vampire a strong fighter.

With each new member of your coterie, you have access to new disciplines. Windhelm already has the discipline of Transformation, which he will teach Christophe in the future. This is a discipline of the Gangrel clan, and mainly helps the vampire to travel in the wild. Since Gangrel vampires prefer forests to inhabited cities. The eyes of the beast allow you to see in the dark, and merging with the earth allows you to rest during the day, hiding from the rays of the sun. Well, wild claws allow you to deal non-absorbable damage. Transforming into an animal allows you to be in the skin of a wolf (in the original you could also transform into a bat), and the form of fog will give you invulnerability from physical harm for a while.

With the appearance of Siren, a vampire from the Cappodacian clan, in your team, new disciplines will appear. Such as Divination, which allows you to see the invisible or gain information about enemies by reading their aura. It is also possible to touch an object and reveal its hidden properties if the thing is not identified. The last ability of this branch allows the vampire spirit to leave his body and scout the situation ahead without attracting the attention of enemies to the group. Another discipline of this clan is Fortitude. Allows you to increase the character's defense, even from such forms of damage as sun and fire. The last discipline of this clan is Mortis. The discipline of death which allows you to revive corpses, call upon a soul for help, create a plague wind, etc.

It is also necessary to note the book of Thaumaturgy, which can be found in the Tremere chapel. Using it you can learn the path of Blood. Using this path, you can force the victim to waste blood (good against the Tremere themselves, so that they become helpless without their spells), or reduce their blood costs for using disciplines. And also steal blood from the bodies of your enemies. (It should be noted that mortals who have lost all their blood die) If you use this branch correctly in the game, you can forget about the lack of blood when passing the game.

Regarding the level of discipline leveling. There is no point in increasing some disciplines to the end, since they increase not the strength, but the duration of action of these disciplines. For example, the duration of Celerity at 5 points is equal to the duration of Power or Fortitude at 3 points. Therefore, before spending experience on disciplines, it is better to check it in practice. But it should also be noted that a small part of the disciplines increases their power of action. These are the ones that act for a short time.

Mod #2 is something like a global one, it fixes a lot of things, adds a lot of things at the beginning of the game, but you need to run it from a separate folder where it is located and start the game again. I played it, and I couldn’t get the subtitles to be in Russian, despite the fact that Russian was installed - everything else was in Russian, except for some gear and its description - it was also in English

There's a wild mess here with saves. Without manipulation, if you save to a slot, you won’t be able to overwrite it - you need to create another one. There are about 30 slots in total. This problem can be solved in 2 ways:

  • We look for the shortcut for this product => Click “properties” => Find “General” => We see “Others” in it => In it we check the “Allow indexing” checkbox. After this, everything should be in order and you can overwrite save slots. NOOOO this thing only worked for me on the "Gog" version, but Steam showed me the middle finger
  • Another way is simpler - if you have used all the slots - then you can do this: Minimize the game => Find “SaveGames” in the game folder => There are folder SP 0 to SP 29. 0 - Autosave; The rest is the number of save slots => Delete them and go back. There are no old saves and you can continue to fill up the slots until they are full and then start again

In Game, after converting you from a clear Crusader to a Vampire of the Brujah clan with the help of Catherine, as the story progresses, comrades from different clans will be recruited into your squad. There will be enough of them during the game, you won’t get rid of them - you won’t throw them out and party, or you won’t kill them completely.

It should be noted that they need to pump and give gear in this moment, and not save for the future, because you won’t see half of the characters in the future and new ones will take the place of the old ones, except for some.

Tomes are essential if you want to enjoy using magical abilities. It is not possible to buy them from merchants, so the only option is to collect them in different locations - there are plenty of Disciplines in the game. It should be noted that it is better to spend the found Toms on the GG - Christophe, because your story allies don't stay with you for too long

The game provides a 1st person view while holding down the "Z" key. But it only works then. when you are standing still. To move with a 1st person view, I found this way - to do this, you need to press LMB on a point and subsequently hold it: as a result, the GG will run in the direction of the Mouse. Therefore, you need to hold LMB and pull the Mouse + hold down the "Z" key - but this trick works on levels where there are no transitions to the 2nd floor or stairs.
