Download games like The Witcher 3. Games like The Witcher. The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim - Dragonborn ready for battle

We start with a rather old, but not completely dead game from 2008. Many gamers, especially young ones, have either not heard anything about it at all, or have heard, but little. Someone even tried to play the latest, third part. And in vain. The third is complete trash: a mockery of the series. You need to play in the first or second, which, in my opinion, turned out best. How is this game similar to the third Witcher?

Firstly, there is a relatively large, really open world: a kind of mixture of some kind of gingerbread fairy tale, steampunk, Victorian England and classic dark fantasy. Secondly, there is a really cool plot with intrigues, unexpected twists, a bunch of characters and a wealth of choice.

It could have been made into a movie that way. In the rest: good, albeit rustic fights, tolerable, albeit rather outdated graphics, and a boy character in whose body an adult hero lives.

Gothic 3

To be honest, the second part, as for me, is much better. But! The fact is that she is already really middle-aged: 2002. Therefore, as a sample, the third part will be offered, which is much younger, larger, more beautiful, although slightly departed from the canons.

Here you have an open world, and the plot and pumping, and the extraction of equipment and even more or less acceptable battles, although, in fact, if you are not enthusiastic about the combat mechanics of the second Witcher, then the battles in Gothic will seem clumsy to you. However, the game has a soul and a unique style (especially the second part).

The hero approaches the shores of the mainland, which consists of three impressive parts, where his adventures begin. All this stuffed with fifty magic spells, the same number of types of enemies, a hundred types of weapons and three options for passing, which depend on the choice of the player: on who he will join, and whom he decides to help.

Risen 3: Titan Lords

This game was made by almost the same team that made Gothic, so the obvious resemblance shouldn't surprise you. This story also begins from a foreign shore, on which it finds itself main character- an experienced pirate. Here you can find a pretty good and understandable combat system, an abundance of relatively non-linear dialogues, and, of course, an open world, with one serious drawback: the areas are open only in theory.

Technically, they are blocked either by some kind of gates, or by especially strong enemies, which are almost impossible to defeat without pumping properly. The rest of the game has a strong bias in the pirate theme. Moreover, this is one of the most pirated video games in general, which have only come out in the entire history of the gaming industry.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance

There hasn't been a single game since The Witcher 3 that fans of the Witcher universe haven't had so many hopes for. Well, still: the game is also made in Eastern Europe - in the Czech Republic. It promised to be unique combat system, as well as the right atmosphere of medieval Europe, torn apart by feudal wars.

Only this time, no Nilfgaard or Temeria with magic, archgryphons and witchers on parcels. Everything is as realistic as possible. Unfortunately, the project did not justify, but it is also impossible to say that it turned out completely out of the ordinary.

The protagonist - a simple son of a blacksmith - is mortally offended by one of the feudal lords, whose army killed his family. And so, yesterday's village hooligan is forced to flee from his home to a neighboring castle in order to stand under the banner of the local leader, in order to eventually bring the right person to the royal throne. In terms of scale, of course, it’s never The Witcher, but fans of European military history should like the game.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen

Is this game similar to The Witcher enough to put it on our hit parade? In my opinion, yes. Of course, she is Japanese, which will already disappoint many. Also, in its atmosphere, it is more like Dark Souls than The Witcher, however, it has an open, dark fantasy world, there is an extraordinary story with a single player campaign, there is quite a variety of pumping, as well as really different types of enemies that need a different approach. The fights are quite simple and a little clumsy, but, as already mentioned, they require ingenuity and dexterity. Not Dark Souls, of course, but most enemies just won't be able to call out.

Perhaps, not without reason, it will seem to you that the hero is not so sincere, and compared to the same Geralt, he is simply faceless, but on the other hand, this helps some to better get used to the role, identifying themselves with someone who does not have such charisma as Geralt. If you like the game, be sure to join monster hunter world.

vampire

The first one on our list is not exactly classic fantasy, but it also falls well within the established framework. After all, a dark vampire story in England, Victorian times is also a fairy tale, therefore fantasy. But in fact, the canons are observed: the world is open, the hero is a white man who received his abilities after a mutation, the dialogues are here, non-linearity too, fights with jumps. There are many more similarities than it might seem at first glance.

Moreover, Geralt also had to communicate closely with vampires, and some, like Regis, were even friends with him. The only problem is morality: while Geralt is the unconditional personification of goodness, Jonathan, to put it mildly, is not exactly good. Not good, but not unambiguously evil either, although it can become one if players want blood. In general, a good action game that greatly spoils the lack of Russian dubbing and not the most expressive combat mechanics.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Believe it or not, one of the favorite pastimes of American gamers is comparing The Witcher and the Inquisition, weighing the pros and cons, and figuring out which is better. Usually overseas video game fans don't give a damn about European game girls. Well, then something happened that cannot be ignored, so they have some kind of complex: how can it be that the best role-playing fantasy with an open world was not made by them. However, we digress.

The Inquisition has everything that is in The Witcher, but everything is a little worse: the plot is not as branched, the secondary tasks are not as interesting, the battles are not as hot, the characters are not as bright, the world is not so beautiful and big. But all these “not” are just a minor convention for someone who wants to plunge into a new many-hour fairy tale about evil sorcerers, arrogant elves, dense forests and dangerous caves in which terrible monsters live. Politics, sex and some kind of morality is also there.

Horizon: Zero Dawn

And another non-canonical fantasy. Some people find it possible to distinguish fantasy from science fiction, although in fact both are fairy tales, just in slightly different atmospheres. Otherwise, everything is very similar, with the only exception that the main character is a girl, and her main enemies are mostly robots of various stripes.

And, yes - one more thing - it's exclusive to PlayStation 4: the only one in our hit parade. around the post-apocalypse.

Humanity has been thrown back into something similar to the Stone Age, only not simple, but on the remnants of a former highly developed civilization, so sometimes some especially savvy savage managed to pick out from a padded robot, some kind of transformer, with which his stone ax on finger Batteries began to beat a little more powerfully.

The main character of the whole game and will have to do something similar: hunt and design. Well, the plot of this game is also based on a secret that the heroine will slowly begin to reveal when she opens one unexpected location.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim

Of course, how can we do without the Elder Scrolls. There are different ways to treat this game, explaining that it is more casual compared to Morrowind, that its main plot is actually obscenely linear, and that the combat system here is quite limited. However, the game is actually a cult one, managing to remain extremely relevant even now, many years after the release.

An open, gloomy fantasy world lives its own difficult life. Its inhabitants survive as best they can. Well, then a revolution began, and besides, dragons awakened, and the main character, against his will, will have to take on the responsibility of solving all global challenges in the vastness of Tamriel. An open world, a huge number of quests, a certain non-linearity, complete freedom of action, excellent Russification and quite tolerable graphics, if you put additional mods - that's what this action has in common with The Witcher.

Assassin's Creed Origins

Well, the gold of our hit parade goes to the most ambitious, most beautiful, freshest and most ambitious project of all previously listed. Huge, open world. Political intrigues, sex with beautiful girls and there is mysticism. Fights with epic bosses there is. There is freedom of action. We can swim, there is pumping, even excessive. An analogue of Roach is also available.

Find games like The Witcher 3, not easy. None of them even come close to the third part of the Geralt franchise (with the exception of Skyrim). The Witcher 3 is an amazing game in every way. After a few hours of gameplay, I realized how huge this medieval world is. Even me seasoned player, Witcher 3 amazed by the variety of quests and new territories.

The last part of the saga of the white-haired monster slayer can be talked about endlessly. But today I would like to talk about games similar to The Witcher 3. Although finding developments that can offer something close to the rich world of the third part of the Geralt series is not an easy task, nevertheless, such masterpieces exist. I present to your attention the 10 best games similar to The Witcher 3.

1. The Elder Scrolls Skyrim

This is the last part of the legendary series The Elder Scroll s , which for many years determined the direction of the development of the RPG industry. Even the guys from CD Project Red who created The Witcher 3 acknowledge the influence Skyrim.

the last part The Elder Scrolls is not the kind of RPG that you want to go through quickly. Bethesda spent 5 years creating Skyrim, putting everything the company had to offer into the game. There are plenty of places to explore, caves to clear, and abilities to level up. For a gamer, all this can take hundreds of hours.

After the recent release of Witcher 3, a lot of people started comparing both games, but this is absurd. Do not forget that Skyrim was released 6 years ago. In fact, the last part of The Elder Scrolls is a game of the previous generation. Although it is not perfect, it is still a masterpiece that deserves attention. Skyrim world full of surprises game process interesting and unforgettable.

2-3. The Witcher Series

The rest of the games in the Geralt franchise are just as exciting as the third installment. If you have a PC, you can play Witcher 1 and Witcher 2 if you haven't already. Both games allow us to better understand the protagonist of the series Geralt of Rivia and his actions. Although not required, I recommend that you try the first two parts of the franchise.

The Witcher 1 and Witcher 2 do not have the open world of the last Witcher, but they also have an amazing story and the ability to influence the course of events with your actions, which brings them closer to the third game in the franchise.

4Dragon Age: Inquisition

85 hours is about how long you should be playing dragon age: Inquisition, to see end credits. I don't even count the countless side quests. Of course, there are RPGs with a larger world. But only in Inquisition it turned out to be so saturated. In which direction do not go - everywhere you will find a quest.

Of course, Inquision is not a pure sandbox game. Here there is a semi-open world with a map divided into different areas, which gradually become available to the player. Also, it is impossible not to note the interesting plot and thoughtful dialogues that make the quests more interesting. Even after 85 hours of passage, many places remained unvisited by me.

If you're looking for a Witcher 3-like game, be sure to check out Dragon Age: Inquisition. You will not regret.

5. Gothic 2

Gothic 2- the most old game in the list. This is an action RPG whose foundation was laid by the first part of the series. Perhaps some will be disappointed by outdated graphics. But, in fact, this is one of the deepest games. Although the world size of Gothic 2 is far from The Witcher 3, as far as the stars, but the choices and decisions that have to be made bring it closer to the last part of the Geralt series. Gothic 2 is one of the few games where your actions always have consequences. Even after many years, Gothic 2 is still one of the best action RPGs to date.

6. The Elder Scroll Oblivion

After its release in 2006 The Elder Scroll Oblivion is still considered one of the best action RPGs. It was an amazing achievement - a complex open world with many details. What else does an RPG fan need? Oblivion made famous The series Elder Scrolls, smoothing over the shortcomings of the previous part. Although Morrowind was an amazing action RPG, only die-hard fans of the franchise were able to appreciate it. As for Oblivion, even if you are not a fan of role-playing games, it is very difficult not to fall in love with this beautiful and colorful world.

The passage of the main quest takes approximately 50 hours, but there is also side quests, which will take you 2 times longer to complete. You can join different guilds and factions, exterminate robbers in caves, communicate with different people. All of this makes Oblivion one of the best Witcher 3-like games out there.

7-8. Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas

Actions of all games in the series Fallout take place in a post-apocalyptic world that survived a nuclear war. The US and China launched nuclear strikes on each other in 2077, leaving huge radioactive wastelands with ghouls, super mutants, and miraculously surviving humans. In most of the games in the series, the protagonist is a vault dweller who has gone outside for the first time after many years. You begin to explore the vast wastelands to see what is left of the world.

The first three parts, released in the 90s. The 20th century was two-dimensional. Then Bethesda bought the franchise license and started making 3D games. The first part, developed by an American company, was Fallout 3, released in 2008. next game Fallout: New Vegas , which was released in 2010, was already made by another studio, Obsidian Studio.

You can play any part of the series. But if you want games similar to The Witcher 3, then you should pay attention to Fallout 3 and New Vegas. It seems that both franchises are too different. The Witcher 3 takes place in the Middle Ages, while the Fallout series takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. However, they do have common features.

In both franchises, the focus is on the player's ability to be whoever they want to be. You often have to make decisions that affect the plot. That is why both games ended up on our list.

The sad thing is that the Polish developer is not yet talking about the future game. We can only hope that CD Projekt Red will not let you down and Cyberpunk 2077 will be better than Witcher 3.

However, not the Witcher alone. What to do to someone who likes games of this kind? And in the future part, which is Odyssey, the similarities between these two games will only become greater.

These were 10 games with single player campaigns similar to the third Witcher. Do you know yours? Suggest in the comments. Well, that's all. Play only good games and let no one walk away beaten.
